I knew something was going to go wrong the moment I went to the maids' quarters and asked for Sara, only to be told the Alpha had summoned her. My heart dropped to my stomach.

“Does anyone know why he did?,” I asked, sounding desperate, even though I tried to keep a calm look.

But no one said a word…

I guess they were too scared to speak.

Summoned her?

There was no way that was a coincidence. Not with how tense Kaidon had been acting since he returned.

I didn’t need to say another word. I just turned around and walked straight out of there. I knew what this meant. My brother must have found out that Lila was missing… and worse, that she had been meeting someone in secret.

I didn’t waste time. I headed straight to Clarkson’s cottage on the far edge of the territory. I didn’t knock when I got there. I pushed the door open. He looked up, already frowning.

“He knows,” I said.

Clarkson didn’t flinch. He set his cup down. “Who knows what?”

“Kaidon knows about Lila's disappearance

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   I couldn't do it!

I should have killed her that night. The blade was in my hand, the moon was high, and the forest was quiet.. too damn quiet. Lila was tied up like a ragged bundle of bones, staring up at me with those huge green eyes that made it hard to breathe. She looked half-dead already, but that wasn’t what made me stop. It was… something else. Something I couldn’t explain. She didn’t beg. Didn’t cry. Didn’t even flinch. She just… looked at me like she had already accepted her fate and was waiting for me to put her out of her misery… Because it was. And in that moment, everything inside me stalled. Like I wasn’t meant to do it; like the moon itself was holding my hand back. So I didn’t do it. I couldn’t… even if I wanted to. And that haunted me more than I liked to admit, really. So, that night, after lying to Drake… telling him I had buried her in a place no one would ever be able to trace… I went back to the cabin. She was still there, barely breathing, and my head was a mess. I wa

I stormed into my chamber, the rage in me burning hotter than a thousand suns. I didn’t even try to hide it. Let them all see the fire in my eyes. Let them feel it. Let them taste the betrayal on my tongue. Lila. That girl… that little, quiet girl. I treated her better than anyone in this cursed pack. I gave her a place in my home, trusted her with things I wouldn’t even trust my Beta with. And this is how she repays me? I slammed my fist against the wall, and the crack that echoed through the room was like thunder. A piece of stone fell to the floor, shattering… just like the respect I had for her. The councilmen flinched, but none of them dared speak. “Bring the warriors in,” I said to the guard standing by the door. My voice was low but sharp. He nodded quickly and left. A moment later, the warriors stepped in… shoulders straight, eyes alert, waiting for orders. I looked at them, all of them, and I saw confusion in their faces. They didn't understand why I had summoned them al

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   No one knows!

    I had returned to the pack to so much noise and excitement, you'd think it was the Moon Festival. Warriors lined up at the gates, bowing and welcoming me like I had gone to war and returned victorious. Drums, laughter, cheers… it was all a blur to me. My head was somewhere else. I nodded, waved, gave tight-lipped smiles, but I wasn’t really there. Something was off. Something... or someone. I couldn't place it. I tried to ignore the heaviness in my chest, the pounding in my skull. My wolf paced inside me, restless. Agitated. I told myself it was nothing… that I just needed a hot bath, a quiet evening, and sleep. But even in the bath, the silence screamed. And when I lay down on my bed, eyes closed, all I could see was that faceless wolf from my nightmare. The one that ran instead of attacking. And then... Lila's face flashed. I sat up instantly. No. It couldn't be. I shook the thought away. I was just stressed. Overthinking. That was all. By morning, the feeling hadn't gone;

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   He's Back!

I turned like a snapping twig when the crunch of footsteps came from behind. Clarkson stiffened beside me. His mouth, which had just been rambling about how Lila’s blood had soaked through the sack, shut instantly. My hand shot to my side, close to my dagger. The figure stepped into the moonlight. It was one of the Alpha’s guards. He looked young. Nervous. Or maybe that was just my own guilt crawling over my skin like ants. I clenched my jaw. “What are you doing here?” I asked, voice sharper than intended. “Did you hear anything just now?,” I quickly added. He blinked rapidly, like he hadn’t expected me to talk first. “Uh—no, Beta. I didn’t hear anything, I swear.” Liar. Or maybe not. But his voice trembled slightly. Clarkson didn’t flinch, didn’t move. He just gave me a brief look. The look we always shared when things needed to stay quiet. I understood it well. It meant: Don’t push this. Not here. I exhaled through my nose and slowly lowered my shoulders. “Then why are you

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   The rumors are spreading!

The wind was unusually cold that night. It wasn’t just the air; it was the way it settled into my bones like guilt, like something I couldn’t shake off no matter how many times I told myself I did the right thing. I paced near the edge of the woods, hands stuffed in my jacket pockets, looking around for Clarkson. We had picked this spot because it was far enough from the packhouse and deep enough into the trees that no one would randomly stumble across us. At least, that was the plan. A crunch of leaves made me turn. Clarkson was approaching, hoodie pulled over his head, and something in his eyes didn’t sit right with me. “Well?” I asked, stepping toward him. “It’s done,” he said, voice low. I stared at him. “Done?” I repeated. “You sure?” Clarkson nodded and reached into his pocket. He pulled out something and tossed it to me. I caught it. My fingers curled around a torn piece of cloth… part of the dress Lila wore that night. It still had a faint scent. Her scent. My chest tig

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   Who Are You

I knew there was no getting out...I knew my end had come.I didn’t need a soothsayer. I didn’t need a dream or a vision or a voice from the Moon Goddess. I could feel it deep in my bones… cold, final, and terrifying. The kind of knowing that made your heart sink before anything even happened. They were going to kill me. Drake and Clarkson. I was just a weak, shiftless wolf girl. I had no wolf. No power. No one would miss me if I vanished. I’d been a gift, for Goddess' sake. A gift… and nothing more.Just an object.I clutched my knees to my chest, my back pressed against the damp wall. I had cried until I couldn’t anymore. Now, all I could do was sit in silence and wait.I shouldn’t have taken that tray of food to Drake’s room.I shouldn’t have let Sara compel me.But even then, even if I had refused, they would have found another way. I wasn’t supposed to survive this place. I was different. A threat. Or maybe just a nuisance. It didn’t matter anymore. What kept echoing in my mind w

I opened my eyes slowly.Everything around me was dark. My head hurt like someone had knocked a rock against it. I blinked again, trying to focus, but it was no use. I couldn't move my hands. Or my feet.Wait.Why couldn’t I move?I looked down and saw ropes… thick, tight, biting into my skin. My wrists were tied to the arms of a wooden chair. My ankles too. Panic gripped me immediately. My heart started pounding so loudly that I could hear it in my ears. What… What was going on?I tried to speak, to scream, but then I realized something else. My mouth was covered too. Something cloth-like. I whimpered into it, hoping someone… anyone… would hear me. But who was I even calling for? Then it hit me.Drake.He'd grabbed me last night when I brought the food to his room. And there was someone else with him. That man… what did Drake call him? Clarkson. Yes. That was it.They had kidnapped me.I struggled harder against the ropes, twisting my wrists, hoping something would give way. But it d

My hands shook. So badly, the tray I was carrying clattered softly, the metal lid tapping against the plate beneath it. I paused in the hallway, took a deep breath, and tried again to steady myself. But it was no use. My body wouldn’t listen. My feet were ice. My thoughts, frantic. And my heart… my heart had never beat this fast, not even the first time I came to this place. Something was wrong. I could feel it in my bones, crawling under my skin like a parasite. I hated this. I hated how powerless I felt… like a lamb walking straight into the wolf’s den. Why me? Why did Sara insist I be the one to take Drake’s food? Didn’t she know? Or maybe she knew and just didn’t care. Maybe she even wanted this. I stopped in front of Drake’s quarters, trying to swallow down the panic threatening to spill from my mouth. "Just knock," I whispered to myself. "Drop the food. Get out. Simple." But my hand wouldn’t move. I stared at the tall, wooden door in front of me like it was a portal
