Zack’s POV

I went to back to the mansion and called for Jack, the leader of the warriors. He came in after some minutes.

“Greetings, alpha.” He saluted.

“At ease, soldier.” I said

“Any lead on the search for Kaine and Darren?” I asked.

“We have searched the eastern and western perimeter fully but still no sign of either of them.” He said.

“We have caught traces of them in two different locations but by the time we arrived ,it seemed they had long departed from there.” He added.

I had just returned from Ruby’s place. I had confronted her about the note she left me. She claimed she knew about Annie.

But Annie is dead, I thought. What is all this rumor going round that she is alive. If she were alive, I would feel her somehow. But her presence is still same. Dead to me since I was told she died. Could it be possible that she is alive?

I was having mixed feelings about it. A part of me will be happy that she is still alive but another part of me is worried about the effect it will have
