Tired of begging

Evie.

He thrust into me again. Usually, I’d be consumed with sweet feelings but this time my thoughts were far away.

My heart was aching. Even after a year of marriage, Alpha Rodney had not marked me. There was no proof that I truly belonged to him.

“Rodney,” I whispered.

“Evie,” he said, staring into my eyes as he slid in and out slowly. “You feel so fucking good.”

The sight of his eyes was usually enough to make me stop asking questions but this time I was determined.

“Rodney, please mark me.”

Rodney’s body froze, his c0ck staying still inside me. He tightened his grip on my hips before continuing like he had not heard me.

“I need it,” I begged. “My wolf has been restless, Rodney. She needs this.”

“Evie...” He screamed out my name as he climaxed. I felt good when his cum sprayed into me. I tightened my muscles to keep his cock in because it felt so good.

After a few minutes, he pulled out and collapsed next to me on the bed. He lay face up and closed his eyes. “That was so good baby. I love you so much.”

“Please mark me.” I insisted. “Show me and everyone that you love me.”

I hated how desperate I sounded but I couldn’t help it. I was his mate and wife and yet every she-wolf in the pack looked at my bare neck and laughed.

I was known as the undesired Luna who wasn’t good enough for her mate. As a half blood, I had grown up hearing all kinds of insults but this was the worst.

“Have I done something wrong?” I asked, turning to look at him.

Rodney placed his right hand over his head. He kept his eyes closed.

“No.”

“Then why won’t you claim me?” I asked softly.

He opened his green eyes. “You know why.”

For as long as I could remember, Rodney was obsessed with finding the Moon Omega. A Moon Omega is born once in a hundred years and is blessed by the moon goddess herself. Moon Omegas are powerful. Any alpha who mates with one becomes very powerful. Rodney was obsessed with power and would do anything to find the Moon Omega.

Rumors said bonding with a Moon Omega could increase an Alpha’s strength beyond imagination. Despite being married to me, Rodney was still searching for the Moon Omega.

“You still believe she’s out there.”

He remained silent and my wolf whimpered.

“I am your mate, Rodney. You made me your wife and Luna of the Crescent pack.”

“Yes.”

“Then why am I not enough?”

Rodney suddenly got off the bed and started putting on his shirt. “I’m sorry, Evie. If I mark you now and the Moon Omega appears later, the bond could create complications.”

Tears welled in my eyes. I tried to stop them because I hated crying in front of him but they just streamed down.

He put on his trouser.

“You know how it goes. When an Alpha forms another bond, the pain can affect the first mate. If I mark you and later find the Moon Omega, mating with her would cause you too much pain and suffering.”“

“I’m already suffering,” I said.

“It’s not the same because you could die. I don’t want you to die. You’re my wife.”

“Why are you obsessed with power? You’re already powerful enough.”

“Everyone in this pack knows that I’m not one of the good guys. You knew that before you accepted me as your mate.”

Yes, I always knew just how power hungry Rodney was, but I thought things would change with time.

He never treated me badly. In fact I was treated like a queen. The only problem was him refusing to claim me. My wolf and I wanted to be fully bonded with our mate.

Having a mate obsessed with finding another woman was very painful.

“I’ll not love her like I love you,” he said, as if reading my mind. “I’ll only mate with her for the power, nothing else. You don’t have to worry about that.”

Before waiting for my reply, he left the room and locked the door. Sobs wrecked my body as I realized begging him was pointless. For the past year I had been begging for the same thing. It was clear he had no intentions of granting my wish.

So what was I doing? Waiting for my mate to find the cherished Moon Omega. As half-blood, I could never compete with a legend. If she turned up, he would forget about me.

I had to stop dreaming that one day he would choose me over the fantasy of some Moon Omega. With tears streaming down my cheeks, I got up and went to the walk in closet. I grabbed a backpack and stuffed some clothes and toiletries inside.

I put on black jeans, black T-shirt and black sneakers before slinging the backpack over my shoulder. In the bedroom, I dropped in my documents and some money from the stash allocated to me every month.

I scanned the room I had slept in for over a year. For a moment, I Almost convinced myself to endure another year. Maybe he would change his mind. But one thing was clear. I was only a placeholder waiting to be replaced.

I quietly opened the door and walked out. Thankfully there was no one in the hallway. I went downstairs and slipped through the backdoor.

My wolf growled weakly as I made my way into the forest. I was scared because I’d never traveled beyond neighboring territories alone. But staying hurt more than leaving so I kept walking

I felt my heart shatter when I looked back and couldn’t see the alpha’s house. Even though I walked out by myself, I couldn’t believe our marriage was truly over I was now alone, surrounded by trees.

What would Rodney do if he returned to our bedroom and found out I was gone? Realization hit me. He could come after me.

So I ran. I ran until every part of my body hurt. My lungs ached so bad I could barely breathe. Unable to go on anymore, I spotted a large tree and collapsed under it.

For a few minutes, there was nothing but silence and the gentle swaying of the leaves. Suddenly, I heard a twig snap. I quickly sat up. What was that?

I got up and started running.

“You can’t outrun me,” a male voice said, followed by evil laughter. Rogue scent found its way into my nose as I tripped on a fallen log.

Evie. Magnus was not as terrifying as Rodney had said. Unless, of course he was pretending. Rodney had mentioned he was manipulative. If that was the case, then I was falling right into his trap. Maybe he wanted to get on my good side for selfish reasons and I was there being all friendly with him. He stood beside me with one hand resting casually on the stone railing as we both listened to music from the hall. Suddenly, there was a high-pitched scream. It came from inside the palace. It was followed by another and the clashing of steel against steel. Magnús and I glanced at each other. That was definitely not music. Before we could make a move, a masked assassin burst through the balcony doors, five others following behind him. They all had black armors and black masks. The lead assassin ignored me and sprinted straight toward Magnus who sidestepped effortlessly. The assassin’s sword struck empty air. “So,” Magnus murmured lazily. “You’ve finally come.” He drew a silver blade h

  • The Cursed Alpha's Regret    Chatting with Magnus

Evie. Magnus had to be the most intimidating alpha I had ever met. He didn’t have to raise his voice or fist. He just had the confidence of a man who knew no one in the room could challenge him. After formally welcoming every Alpha, attendants opened the banquet hall. Music filled the room as servants carried out delicious dishes. Rodney remained beside me almost the entire time. Eventually, Damien pulled him away after several neighboring Alphas requested a private discussion about border security. “I’ll only be a few minutes,” Rodney murmured to me. “I’ll be okay. I don’t need a baby sitter.” His eyes lingered on Magnus across the room before he left. As soon as Rodney disappeared, Magnus rose and came to where I was. “May I?” he asked, gesturing toward the empty chair beside me. His manners caught me off guard. I mean he was the most powerful person in that place. He could do whatever he wanted without asking. “You don’t need my permission.” I said, studying the fabric use

Evie. We reached a massive valley at around midday, leaving the mountains behind. There were many castles by the lakes and banners fluttered in the air. Wolves from every region of the continent crowded the enormous palace at the center of the valley. “The Summit Hall,” Damien said as our cars pulled through the gates. “So many people,” I said, staring in awe at the large numbers. Some alphas had travelled alone while others came with their families. “So many alphas,” Selene said looking like a teenager in love for the first time. This wasn’t just another gathering. Every powerful Alpha on the continent was here which meant lots of power and danger. Many alphas were volatile. Having too many of them in one place was a recipe for disaster. The enormous grand hall was buzzing with conversation and laughter. Marble pillars stretched to a ceiling painted with the history of the werewolf kingdoms. Rows of long banquet tables were illuminated by massive chandeliers, each bearin

  • The Cursed Alpha's Regret    Setting off

Evie. Wolves filled the yard on the morning we left Crescent Pack. The Warriors stood in neat rows, with their gleaming polished armors. The pack women spoke to me and wished me well while servants loaded supplies onto the cars. Everyone was there to see their Alpha and Luna who were traveling to the Alpha Summit. I still wasn’t used to hearing people call me Luna but was slowly getting used to it. Children waved excitedly as Tommy climbed into the car. We decided to travel with him since all the strong people we trusted were going with us. I couldn’t leave him alone while the person who was causing problems for us was still at large. “Mommy!” he called out. “Can I go with Daddy?” Rodney looked at me first. It was such a small thing that he could have decided for himself but he chose to ask me as well. I nodded. Tommy squealed happily and scrambled into Rodney’s lap. “I get both of you!” he declared. Damien rolled his eyes as he got into another car. “I already miss the

RodneyThree days later, Evie had recovered enough to walk again, but the Fireheart inside her had weakened greatly. Healer Joshua assured me the effects were temporary so we were all hoping for the best. Unfortunately, the investigation had not yielded the desired results. We questioned everyone but no one gave us a reasonable lead. It was as though the poison had appeared out of thin air. Whoever was behind it was extremely careful.I sat in the council chamber with Damien, Joshua, and the pack elders, studying another useless report. Evie was also in the room. I’d told her not to bother but she claimed to be strong enough.“No witnesses,” Damien said, tossing the parchment onto the table.I clenched my jaw. “I think we’re missing something.”Before anyone could respond, there was a knock and the doors opened. A royal messenger entered, dressed in black and silver armor that was not commonly worn in Crescent Pack. He bowed respectfully.“Alpha Rodney Harding.”“Who sent you?” I ask

Rodney. It was such a relief when the battle ended. Crescent Pack was quiet again. Elders sat together beneath the old oak tree, thanking the Moon Goddess for protecting the pack while everyone else had gone back to their normal activities. We had won, and it was all thanks to Evie. If she had not used her Fireheart powers to save everyone, I didn’t know what would have happened to the pack. The attack was a surprise, and the attackers were strong and coordinated. Whoever had planned it was mighty. At first, I suspected Lucien but then remembered that Lucien adored Evie. He may have been a moron, but I couldn’t imagine him attacking us. Lucien and I had issues, but it was more like a ‘frenemies’ situation, at least that’s what I thought on my side.Evie was now the star of the show. Wherever she walked, wolves stopped to thank her. The mothers whose children she rescued embraced her with tears in their eyes. The warriors she healed bowed respectfully whenever she passed. Even the eld
