Chapter 2

Elona's POV

I'm looking for something I can buy now, "Excuseme, how much is this?" at the same time I pointed there at the concentrated chicken meat.

"That's three hundred per kilos," my eyes immediately widened because it was so expensive. Seriously, is that a gold?

"Maybe I'll buy it next time," I won't come back to you, your merchandise is so expensive!

I was immediately stopped in my tracks by an old woman, who was about to stop in front of me. I immediately felt sorry for her because of her condition. Her clothes were torn and she obviously had no food because shes is holding her own stomach. Her teeth were as yellow as corn reason for me to immediately feel pity for her.

Can I just give my full salary? There's still a lot to cook in the refrigerator at home, I also have a job tomorrow, so maybe it's okay.

“Umm, grandma? Do you have a place to stay? You want... I have my money, take it with you.” I took her hand at once. I immediately stared at it and I seemed depressed when I saw that it was so thin and still had scars.

"Don't worry grandma, I still have money here," I lied to her. I once parted the hair on his face and pinned it to his ear. I was surprised because a big smile flashed on its lips. If I could just take you home, I would.

“You are very a very smart daughter, I hope there are many more children like you who will live in this world. " I immediately smiled very sweetly, because of what she just said.

"It doesn't matter, it's my duty to help my neighbor in need, "I replied back to her with a smile.

"I'll be ahead of you, will you use that money well?" I said gently and she just nodded in agreement. I started to step away when she suddenly grabbed my wrist causing me to frown and turned my gaze to back to her.

"Do you need something-"

"Tonight… the full moon will arise, everything will happen daughter, he will take you out of the hardship you are experiencing now." I wondered at what she said.

"W-What do you mean?" I couldn't help but stutter ‘cause I knew in myself that I am really nervous.

"He will protect you, he will do everything for you… but, be careful daughter .... the tunnel depends on you." Grandma stared at me for a long time while I tried to pull my left hand from its grip.

I was about to complain when the wind suddenly picked up, so I immediately closed both of my eyes because of its strength.

When I noticed that it subsided I immediately woke up, "Lola?" where is she now? I asked in astonishment in my mind as I wandered my eyes across the market, but grandma really wasn't there. I was just held in my own arms while I rubbed my hands there because of the extreme cold I am feeling.

‘What is happening to me? Am I just rolling my eyes?’

At one point I looked in my pocket and saw there the 350 pesos I had given to the old woman earlier. Hey, maybe I'm really lacking in sleep. I just shook it and bought our food.

It was six o'clock in the evening when I got home, because the town market was also far away from us. As I turned the door lock, I was nervous because I knew my aunt would scold me again.

“Why is the town so far away from us? And then… the driver is very slow to drive, it looks like his tire is out of air. ” I complain to myself as I can’t help but be nervous. I turned to open the door at once.

‘Wait, where are they?’

“Aunt Brenda? Are you there? Aunt Brenda? ” I almost shouted hoarsely inside our house, it was a miracle and they left the house today. And the hay door is still open. What else can I expect from them? I just shook my head at the thought that my chosen meat and vegetables were already on the table.

As I am busy slicing the meat something immediately grabbed my attention. I immediately stared at it, "A necklace?" I suddenly blurted it out.

I don't even remember Lia buying a necklace? Maybe it's my aunt? It is made of diamond stone as if it is still sparkling and there is a mixture of yellow and gray inside the diamond. It's such a key that you can really mistake it for a house key if you don't look at it carefully.

"It's beautiful…" I exclaimed to myself while still looking at the necklace, I was about to touch it with a sudden pair of hands that grabbed it hanging on the wall. I’m shock to turn my back immediately.

"A-Aunt—"

“I told you, didn't I!? That you can't interfere with things here at home! ” At one point she slapped me hard on my right cheek, causing it to blush.

"Mom!" Lia was still holding back her Mom.

“Shut up there, Lia! If you don't want me to follow you! ” Lia immediately shut her mouth out of fear. While I was still holding my red cheek and could not help but cry.

“You don't really understand it do you? You're really stubborn, huh? Then, let's see! ” Aunt’s immediately dragged my long hair to the kitchen.

“Mom! That's enough! ” Lia cried to her mother as she looked at me as if she was saying 'I'm sorry, I can't help you I'm scared. I convey to her that 'I'm okay, don't worry,’ Lia isn't really bad, she's just really afraid of her Mother.

“Shut up there, Lia! This woman should just be taught a lesson! ” at the same time, my aunt took a boiling water from the kitchen from the stove.

"T-Tita, p-please…" I begged while my two arms blocked my face. She was about to throw it at me when suddenly a loud banging on our roof reason to stop aunt immediately.

I took this time and hurriedly ran out, causing my aunt's eyes to widen due to anger.

"Chase that woman, Lia!"
