The Pulse Beneath the Ruins

The atmosphere within the fragmented courtyard resonated with a low, fluctuating hum, as if the world itself was pausing for a moment. The ruins surrounding them—shattered pillars, toppled stone arches, and walls sagging dangerously—seemed to pulse with a dim silver glow that Luna felt deep within her. It wasn't loud, yet it was impossible to overlook. It tugged at her heart, softly calling her by name without uttering a sound.

Rowan stepped closer, his hand grazing her arm gently. “It’s responding to you,” he said softly. His tone remained hushed, as if elevating it could disturb something primal and menacing.

Kai had his daggers out, his gaze keen and restless as he scanned the perimeter of the courtyard. “Or it’s responding to something nearby,” he muttered. “This place feels off. It seems like the ground is breathing.”

Luna swallowed hard. She could sense that too.

A chilling wind swept through the ruins, carrying sounds that resembled distant cries. Th

  • The Cursed Luna's Return    Chapter 141

THE NIGHT THE MOON TREMBLEDAs soon as the moon appeared above the treetops, the atmosphere shifted.Luna sensed the change before anyone else. A murmur—gentle, quivering, almost scared—slipped through her thoughts like icy fingers.“He is awakening.”She froze. That voice. She had heard it once before, within the Heartstone chamber. The voice of the ancient Moon Guardian… or whatever essence remained of him.Rowan halted mid-stride and turned swiftly. “Luna? What’s wrong?”Kai, who had been scouting ahead, rushed back. “Her aura just spiked. Something isn’t right.”Luna placed a hand on her chest. The Heartstone throbbed beneath her skin, faintly illuminating her tunic, as if in response to a call she couldn't decipher.“I heard him,” she breathed. “The Guardian. He says someone is awakening.”Rowan’s jaw clenched. “Awakening? Who?”Before she could respond, the ground shook beneath them. Birds erupted from the trees in panic. Wolves howled in confusion from a distance. Then a deep r

Echoes of a Destiny UnfulfilledThe night was wrapped in a stillness that felt almost eerie, as if the world was collectively holding its breath for Luna. The Heartstone’s glow pulsed gently against her chest, each beat resonating throughout her body like a second heartbeat. She sat on the chilly stone steps of the ancient chamber, attempting to find her center, but the air around her buzzed with peculiar strands of energy.Rowan observed her from a short distance, arms crossed and jaw clenched. Kai stood next to him, more subdued than usual, perceiving the shift even more acutely as her aura continued to transform.“Another surge,” Kai murmured. “Her energy keeps increasing.”Rowan kept his gaze fixed on Luna. “She’s barely managing to hold it.”Luna raised her eyes toward them, catching their softly spoken words. “I’m fine,” she asserted, but the lie left a bitter taste in her mouth. She was far from fine. Not even close. The Heartstone had bestowed upon her power—more than she had

The chamber descended into a quivering stillness.Luna stood in the middle of the illuminated circle, the Heartstone gently thumping beneath her skin. The surrounding walls glimmered with ancient symbols that grew brighter with each breath she took, as though acknowledging her presence… or issuing a warning.Rowan stepped forward cautiously, his face a mix of wonder and trepidation. Kai lingered a few paces behind, his hand resting on his dagger's hilt, not out of threat—out of instinct. A dense weight hung in the atmosphere, something they all sensed but couldn’t quite identify.“Luna,” Rowan spoke softly, “your aura… it’s shifted again.”She swallowed hard. “I’m aware.”Her voice quivered more than she had planned. Ever since her abilities surged at the Moon Temple, she sensed something within her—something fierce, unsettled, whispering secrets she wasn’t prepared to confront.Rowan held out his hand toward her. “Share with me. Don’t close me out.”“I’m not closing you out,” she mur

The storm within Luna gradually calmed, like waves receding after a fierce confrontation. Her breath became steady, yet the silver glow in her eyes remained — now softer, pulsing gently in sync with the Heartstone embedded beneath her skin. Rowan crouched beside her, still holding her wrist, his expression tense with an anxiety he struggled to conceal.“Luna… can you hear me?” he murmured, his thumb lightly caressing her knuckles. She nodded, though even that slight movement felt like wading through water. “I’m here. Just… not completely.”Kai sighed in relief from the entrance. “You frightened us. Both of us. The whole temple seemed to breathe along with you.”Luna swallowed hard. “I sensed everything. The temple, the echoes, the ties binding every wolf spirit ever tied to this place… it was as if they surged through me all at once.”Rowan’s jaw clenched. “You shouldn't carry that burden alone.”She gazed at him — truly gazed — and something within her softened. The fear, the urgency

When the Moon QuakesAs soon as Rowan reentered the clearing, the atmosphere shifted—sharp and electric, vibrating with a tension Luna sensed before she could see him. His energy throbbed intensely, not with rage… but with something deeper, heavier, something that made her skin prickle. Behind him, the trees seemed to shrink back, branches bending as if bowing to the tempest he bore.Kai tensed beside her.“Something’s not right,” he whispered.Rowan approached without a word, but Luna could read it clearly in his eyes—the conflict, the dread he was struggling to suppress. She stepped closer to him. “Rowan… what happened?”His jaw clenched. He flicked his gaze between Luna and Kai, and for a moment, it seemed he might completely shut down. But then Rowan exhaled unsteadily and spoke.“The Council intercepted another message,” he revealed. “It wasn’t meant for them. It was meant for him.”Luna’s heartbeat faltered. “You mean—”“Yes,” Rowan interrupted. “The Shadow King.”Kai’s hand mov
