PROLOGUE

GABRIELLE's pov.

This life is a roller coaster.

Trudging out of the bungalow, I was pulling the sack of garbage along with me and I strode towards the white truck.

The waste collectors are here to pick up the garbage as usual, and they do that at the end of every month.

"Miss Gabrielle!" Ethan, one of the men cackled, he was resting his body against the truck with his hands folded on his chest.

Whirling my eyes at him, I snapped "Get lost, Ethan!" I was almost getting closer to the truck which was heavily loaded with filthy garbages.

Ew!

"Don't mind him, he's just being silly!” laughed Abel, the young fellow who was now stepping out of the truck. He paced towards me, snatching the garbage from me and he hurled the sack into the truck.

"Pretty girls ain't permitted to get stained by garbage!" He pointed out to my face, pulling away from my sight.

I scoffed at his sarcasm.

"Hmm, what a fresh morning in Italy!" Ethan inhaled, staring lovingly at the bright sky.

Deeply sighing, I used the back of my palm to wipe off the beads of sweat from my forehead. Forthwith, I pull out the pack of cigarettes from the back of my pocket.

"Have I ever told you that this pretty country redhead is a smoky bitch too?" I heard Ethan gossiping to Abel who was strolling past him.

"Don't you know smoky redheads are a gift from God?" Abel asked sarcastically, opening the door of the driver's space and he enters the truck.

I couldn't help but chuckle at his joke, while I pick out a single pole of cigarettes from the pack.

"I have a specialty for a smoky redhead!” Ethan pawned particularly to me, a naughty smirk dancing on his lips while he jerks his body away from the truck.

"Let's go!" Abel snorted, inserting the rattling keys, and the vehicle stirred rambunctiously.

Ethan winks cutely at me, he turned around dramatically and hops into the truck to rejoin his colleague.

"Dicks!" I cursed, positioning the cigarette on my lips and I lit up its edge with my lighter.

I watch the truck zoom off, with Ethan waving gaily at me from the window but I didn't reciprocate to him at all —Idiot!

A few moments later, I was still standing quietly at the roadside. Relishing myself in the early morning breezes which were ruffling my red long hair, my bright blue eyes prowling around the secluded avenues.

I must confess that I admire this modest life of mine.

At the age of twenty-five, I have achieved a lot but it's all hidden behind the doors.

"Gabrielle!" I heard my mother shout raucously from inside the house.

"Aye captain! I'm com..."

I was crying out to her when my eyes abruptly caught sight of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire's car, packed by the other side of the road.

I trailed off, I was exceptionally speechless.

Goddamn it! That car is worth $18.7 million, I guess. But how did it get there?

I mean... what was it doing there?

As far as I could remember, there has been no sign of a moneyed gigolo who's living in this part of the alcove that could possess such an expensive car.

Wait for a second, why do I feel like the unidentified occupants in the car are watching me?!

Instantly, my eyes narrowed and I gradually slip out the cigar out of my lips as I carefully scrutinize the car windows which were unfortunately black tinted.

Okay, why do I feel like this isn't a coincidence at all now that I suddenly remembered the weird experiences I had last week ago?

Last week, I was having these strange feelings that someone was mysteriously following me behind my back whenever I'm on my way home from the parties.

Although I didn't tell my mom about it since I didn't want her to panic, I divulged it to Cassandra —my best friend since kindergarten.

She had cautioned me to stay away from the night parties, and also quit being a night stroller. However, I couldn't heed her words since I was a stripper!

No one knows the actual me, not even my dearest mother knew I was a stripper. I'm one of the richest strippers in Italy, but barely a few know me in person.

I know what I have, I know what I have achieved over the past five years I started stripping right after my dad died. However, I had concealed everything I earned. Well, until the right time comes for me to show off.

I can't take the risk of exposing myself to the world, and most, especially to the vultures like Regina -my rival.

She's also a stripper like me but she doesn't know the real me, and she's...

"Gabrielle!" My mum's voice jerk me off my trance, and I flinched.

"Hold your horses!" I angrily flipped around "I'm coming!" I added, yelling at the top of my voice for her to hear me.

Consequently, I swiveled my head back at the roadside, wanting to check out something meaningful which may be of help to my curiosity.

However, the flamboyant car was gone!

"Huh?" I arced my brows, throwing the cigarette into the nearby gutters and I clenched my teeth.

Darn it! This is frustrating!

I swung around while slipping the pack of cigarettes into the back of my pocket, I was inwardly boiling while pulling off my black leather jacket, and paced back into the house.

I was restless, I was extremely unsettled.

Even if I would have to sacrifice the last drop of blood, I have to find out who those people are and why they are hungrily after my life.

Stepping into the living room, I took an abrupt halt at the door when I saw my glaring mother standing halfway on the stairs with my SECRET in her hand!

How was she able to...?

I was intensely breathing, my blue eyes bulged widely at her.
