Chapter 1

he gods worriedly stared intently at their creature, who had been out of control for a long time and was now changing into nothing but trouble. He had acquired the status of deity by a clear margin and was no longer referred to as the "Messenger of the gods." He demonstrated to those who opposed him that he would not hesitate to use violence to avenge those who were thought to have betrayed his trust.

He was cruel. He slaughtered his victims, who were nothing more to him than a collection of toys to play with, in front of the gods, making sure to leave a terrible mess even for those vile enough to enjoy a killing spree.

He was seductive. He was far from ugly, as is being expected given his reputation, and his appearance was on par with the male deities there. He was well familiar with it.

He had no mercy. They were horrified as they continued to see him become more powerful every day, to the point where even the gods could no longer contain it. They were concerned that he might turn it against them.

It was well known that they had treated him poorly and dishonestly when he was a child. When they saw he was valuable, they kidnapped him from his home and transformed him into what he had become. Around the glass-like table, the gods were silent and gazing off in the distance.

Finally, the goddess of knowledge and war, Alstha, spoke.

"Action must be taken right away!" She cried out in indignation, "He is killing hundreds of innocent lives every minute!

"Nothing can be done by us." Eccasto, the deity of reason and instinct, bemoaned, "We made sure of that when we made him indestructible."

"Whose grand idea was that? Everyone has witnessed the boy's abilities. If we can't figure out a method to stop him, I vow bad things will happen to us." Fate spoke

The gods froze since he didn't often speak. His statements had the weight of law, so if he felt threatened about their future, it might be much worse than they anticipated.

The boy received instruction from Alstha in warfare and wisdom, Eccasto in insight, and Fate in intelligence and readiness.

Except for Luna, or as people referred to her, Mother Luna, who they believed he would not need in his missions, he had received training from the gods. All eyes were on her as she raised an eyebrow in confusion.

“What?” The large space boomed with her melodious voice.

Fate said with caution but laughter, "You're the only one with powers he wasn't taught with.

"And?" she inquired. The gods regarded Fate with interest.

What do you give your children, Mother Luna, that none of us can give? He enquired as he got up from his chair and approached her.

She said confidently, "A mate."

The other gods were taken aback by what Fate had in store. Fate tsked, took her hand, and gave it a tender kiss.

Fate declared, "I have the power to give and take a lover."

Her exquisite features were ruined by an animalistic grimace as she snatched her hand back firmly. Her angry eyes narrowed in warning as her lips parted and her teeth exposed.

"Calm down, Mother Moon. I promise not to hurt any of your innocent kids." Slowly, she became more composed, but the wild expression in her eyes persisted.

“Hope. You instill hope in your kids. a desire to be loved, trusted, and cherished by someone."

"I do, yes. But what's the use?" She sounded frustrated and echoed the sentiments of every other god present.

"The young man has no one to love. Neither a family nor a person to call his own. Watch him. He comes and goes whenever he wants. He is far too wild."

They finally realized it and agreed, although they weren't yet entirely aware of the overall strategy.

"Send a warrior to him!" She'll control his heart! Alstha exclaimed joyfully.

"No, deliver a heartless female to him. He will pin for her love, and his senses won't allow him to do anything riskier!" said Eccasto.

The other gods shouted their suggestions for what she ought to be and why, but Fate raised his hand and silenced them.

“No.” The gods watched him in disbelief, unable to understand how Fate could not recognize the beauty of their concepts.

"So, Fate, with whom shall I mate him?" With anticipation in her eyes, Luna questioned. Everyone was aware of her passion for pairing up couples, even the most unlikely ones.

"She will be delicate like a fall breeze. This will increase his desire to get to know her" Fate remarked, glaring at Eccasto.

"She will, however, be obstinate and protect herself against him with bravery unmatched by anything he has ever seen. In order to instill humility in him, she will dismount him and allow his feet to touch the ground once more." Fate turned to face Alstha.

"She will be stunning, of course, but not in the same way that he is used to. His eyes will be opened to the fact that people are more than just their outward appearance. She'll make him happy and at peace. He will have hopes for things he never anticipated having. His entire being—power, spirit, soul, and heart—will be subdued by her."

When fate finally spoke, the room fell silent.

"Will she lead to his downfall?"

"Mother Luna, are you up to the task?" Fate questioned her, daring her.

She smirked as she answered. Her hands were removed from the table. They were engulfed in fog. The moon abruptly ascended to the clouds as the sun quickly sank. Like always, Luna chanted under her breath, but this time everyone was paying close attention because, paradoxically, their future was on the line. Luna once again took a different action.

She placed her wrist close to her mouth and bit it, allowing enough of blood to spill out before the incision closed. Fate squinted her eyes.

The others hissed as the blood slowly started to solidify and eventually became blue.

"The boy's blood is in it!

What are you up to? "Fate shouted, alarmed by the gleam in her wild eyes.

Luna ignored the other gods and resumed her chanting. Their blood merged with one another. Just before touching the boy's blood, Luna's blood began to have a tint of purple. Before uniting and dissipating into thin air, the blood drops briefly clashed. Luna blinked and cocked her head to the side.

The gods scowled at her.

"What did you do?" He kept asking Fate with a bit of an edge.

"Behold!" Luna exclaimed with a big smile.
