I took in a deep breath.

“Alright Now we are going to play a little game called, give the girl back to me. You keep the girl here and you move away immediately” I said in the calmest voice I could muster as I tried to hold my cool.

“Oh look at that. He thinks that we are–“ he didn’t get to finish that statement when I swiftly broke his neck and shred him in two.

“So who is next?” I said to the two. They came charging at me. I took care of them like the 1st, though it took me quite longer because he was the one with the gun. By the Time I was through, I was already bloodied up.

I had a few bruises here and there, but I wasn’t the one lying on the ground dead. I picked up the girl, who had transitioned.

She looked peaceful as she was. I checked her pulse and found out that she was still alive. I carried her on my back and went to my pack. I dropped her with the royal doctor.

Marcel. He was an old friend of mine. Though I told him to keep it a secret bit I knew news like t

While I threw my back in laughter, I didn't miss the looks from Margo, Amandla and Vok. Worry, annoyed and confused respectively. “What's so funny your highness?” madam Lafayette asked. I wiped a tear off my face. With a wave of my hand I smiled. “ Your face Madam Lafayette. It reminds me of a frowning child” The rest of the group sniggered and it made Madam Lafayette more pissed. “Okay I'm sorry if I confused any of you but sorry to disappoint you but I have no new mate” “You don't?” Margo asked and I shook my head. “But I do have some good news” I said with a smile. They all looked at me with questions in their eyes. “ I have found the solution to our problems” They stared at me like I was stupid.” The young girl in there is going to help us enter into that half moon pack.” “Is she part of them!” Margo’s eyes flew wide bd I nodded. Before I could say Jack. They were all in Marcel's house. They got acquainted with the girl and I told them how I found her. The little girl wa

She didn't bad. But she wasn't good either. Her skin was paler like a ghost. The make up didn't do much to hide it. Though she looked beautiful. She was skinnier and looked like she was sleep depraved. Then my eyes fell on him. Maximus He had this absolue look of hate and disgust on his face. He grabbed Nina's hand and smirked. “Let go!” She cried out, as she tried to wriggle away from him but he tightened the grip on her hands. I shut him a glare. “I think you have a death wish” I snarled. He chuckled. “ Oh yes I do, are you going to kill me?” Hr smirked. “I mean can you— he burst into laughter to our expense— why did you take you this long huh?” He basked in this arrogance that tempted me to snap his neck in two. My clenched and unclenched my fist. I shut my eyes briefly and opened them. “ L

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    Happy at last

“Stop being a wet blanket and have some fun!” Amandla half shouted into my ears as we got into the arena for the party. The speakers burst out with music, bottles were being exchanged. People laughed and joked. It was a merry moment. Knox had announced a bon fire that night. Everyone was in a celebratory mood. Obviously who wouldn't rejoice. I mean we had won the fight. Finally I was free at last. I often found myself staring at the entrance. It was were the severed heads of Maximus and Stephen had been displayed. It felt surreal. Finally this was over. One minute I was about to be raped, the next I am surrounded by people I know. People that would not hurt me. It didn't take long for me to make friends with Margo andAmandla. They were awesome girls. Brave and intelligent. “Come on” Margo beckoned on me. “Okay” I smiled. And walked briskly beside her. We joined some other girls in the bonfire. The atmosphere was beautiful. It reminded me of home but then I began to think. Do I

I stood up with a huge smile on my face. “Don’t you remember me? It’s me Nina?” The man turned and stared at me blankly and my cheeks heated up. “Excuse me?” I began to smile. “Oh I’m sorry I thought you were someone I knew” I ended with a nervous laugh. The man nodded and I immediately walked away with my tail tucked in-between my legs. I turned swiftly around. I hope nobody saw that, but when I got to my seat, I noticed Margo staring at me. She gave me this comforting smile and I nodded in her direction. I grabbed my drink and gulped down the strawberry juice, all at once. As I poured the last one from the jar into my cup, I felt movement beside me. I turned to find Margo. She smiled at me. Hmm. She seemed to smile often. Like a graceful soul. “Cheers?” she raised her cup tie me and I jammed mine to hers. “Cheers” I replied plastering a smile on my face and immediately began to drink. I felt watched so I slowed down. I dint want to finish this drink. Yet. It kept me busy and

I took in a deep breath and followed him. We walked to a quieter place but he still kept walking. I frowned. That was weird. How come Knox never for once turned around? How sure was he that I was still following him? “He hasn’t even turned back” I grumbled as I kept walking, looking around but not forward, suddenly I bumped into a wall. “Ouch! My nose” I was still rubbing my nose when I noticed the wall turn and realized it wasn’t a wall. “Watch where you are going” came a firm response. I looked up and my eyes widened. What the hell was wrong with me? I should have known who it was merely by his perfume. It was the most intoxicating scent that had ever graced my nostrils. It was a mixture of woody and ash and musk and coffee. It smelled like everything and nothing at the same time. I stared at my feet. “I ‘m sorry” I muttered. The next thing I knew, Knox tilted my face up. I gasped. “When you talk to me, look me in the eye. You got that?” I quickly nodded and he let my chi

“Excuse me?” Amandla asked. “She will not follow you to the alpha side of the train” Vok announced. My cheeks went red. I had never felt this bad for being a breeder like I felt now. I looked at my feet and tears swelled up in my eyes. “What?’ Margo’s eyes went wide. “How dare you say that? Who gave you the right” Amandla shot Vok a glare that should have had him groveling, if only she was his alpha, But Vok seemed unaffected. Amandla’s eyes was threatening to bulge out. I watched her. She was grinding her teeth and she shook. Any minute now she could explode like a cannon ball. I feared that this might escalate into something else. “Okay no problem, I’ll sit where I am meant to sit.” I said grabbing Amandla by the hand. She swiftly turned to me and I nodded with a small smile. “It’s okay” I muttered. “No it’s not okay” she said, her voice raised. I was happy and sad at the same time. I never knew I could have two different emotion at the same time. Originally sad that I was

I rolled my eyes and took in a deeper breath, then I opened the door. My eyes went wide at the image in front of me. Was it just my eyes but did Knox look way handsome than before. And also his height. Knox was tall. Was it just my eyes or did the train doors make him seem taller. He flashed me a smile and I felt myself go weak in the knees. Why did he do that? I stood gaping at him. He was too good. Too handsome. Oh my God. I felt a lot of things all at once. A quickening heartbeat Breathlessness. My pulse was in the throat. I opened my mouth but no words made it out. I shut it immediately. I mentally slapped myself in the face. Get it together! I swallowed. Was he seeing my reaction? Was it weird? I heard Knox clear his throat. He raised a hand go his face, covering his mouth and biting his lips to hide a smile. “We are just going to stand here or what?” he asked. My face went red and I smiled. “Come in” I said in a breathless voice as I moved aside. Knox gave me this kno

I had thought my Journey would be smooth from then on but what I didn't know was, it had just begun. Home was the only thing in my view and I hoped we got to it soon enough. The next morning I woke up to a slightly flooded room. Water had seeped from the kitchen into the room. I was confused. What was going on? I had not left the kitchen sink on so how did this happen? There was a heavy knock on my door and I rushed to the door. “I came as soon as I heard it” Vok said. “Honestly I don't understand what happened” I looked around to room. The floor was soaked. I watched the water level. It didn't look like it was inceeasing. That was a relief. Vok around the room. “ It was a little technicality somewhere” I modded likt I understood what was going on. “Alright I'll call my men to come around and take your bags, come with me” he said. I nodded. I immediately grabbed my night wear gown walked out of the room, Vok following closely behind me as he closed the door. I waited for him

I got to the bathroom and slowly closed the door. I waited and listened. I could hear footsteps outside the door. I put it on the tap in the bathroom. The noise was okay. Then I tapped on the teleprompter. “Hey, Vok you there?” And all I could hear were crickets. I called out to him again, and the answer was the same. I became tired of trying to get across to him I decided to actually use the bathroom. After I flushed, I stood in front of the mirror, water dripping down my face, hands gripping the sink like it could stop the storm inside me. I have tried countless times to get across to Vok, but all of them favored me, and I was getting frustrated. Any moment now, my mother would have to be the one to knock on the door and ask what was taking me so long. Suddenly the teleprompter in my ear buzzed low. “your Highness” came my Vok's voice, tight with urgency. “We’ve hit a dead end. A gate. Reinforced steel deep in silver. If we hold in longer, we might die.” “Where is it?” I

The rain had just stopped falling and I gave the guards a signal to start moving. It wasn't a short distance but we were ready to go far to get what we wanted. Firstly I asked that the ice in the palace be warm or disposed. I mean, anything I would do to not let them keep supplying the ice dungeon more ice. That way Nina would still be alive. I and my men stopped in front of the pink gate. I rolled my eyes. My mother and weird colors. “Announce us! “ my guard ordered. “Your majesty! The alpha of winter fell is here to see you” The man hurriedly ran to open the door. I recognize him. He hadn't changed at all. Xander. My mother's minion. All Ashira had to do was to say jump and he would be asking how high. I hated him. He was spineless. Not a he wolf. He was easily ordered around like a little dog. I wondered if he ever transitioned. I doubt if he has. If not he wouldn't be this spineless. The door opened and I squinted. Stating right in front of me were colors. Like a rainbo

I paced my room. “Your Highness, Amy is here” “Let her in !” The door to my chambers was slightly open. I could see the figure there. I could smell the fear on her body. “Come on” She flinched and nodded quickly. “Where is she?” My voice was quiet, dangerously quiet. The kind of quiet that came before a storm. Before I rained terror. I was even surprised at myself. Normally I would have snapped two necks by now. I stood in the center of my room, my chest heaving, eyes glowing an eerie gold. The air crackled with the tension of what my next action would be. Kill her? Amy, the maid, stood frozen as she stood there. Her hands clutched the corner of her apron like a lifeline. “My…. My… I mean. Your Highness…I—” I didn't need to repeat myself. In a flash, I was in front of her, fangs bared, eyes wild with something far more dangerous than rage, desperation. I need to find her before my mother gets hold of her. “Where. Is. My. Mate?” I growled. Amy trembled, her knees bu

“We are back, your Highness.” The new secretary turned to me and Vok with a bright smile. I dropped my phone. “I guess it's goodbye to seeing all those humans and their fat faces,” I replied. Vok and the secretary chuckled. I sighed and opened the door. I stretched my legs and walked to the other side. I smiled, staring at the environment. The green vegetation and all. Not those colored plastics Humans make in the lab. It is indeed good to be home. “Your Highness, the alpha of the blue moon pack sends his regards,” the secretary announced suddenly. I frowned. “Sorry Your Highness, Sir,, “ he said looking at me and Vok before he finally disappeared “Vok are you sure he's a werewolf?” Vok smiled. “ yes your highness” I sighed. It's been a while, really. I began to think about my life for the past one month. 2 weeks earlier, when I saw that the job here on the human side was way too big to be done within a week, I became worried. How would the pack go on? Vok began to m

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    Left for dead.

When I looked up, I could see the gamma’s eyes bilge out. He stiffened on seeing me. I bent my head in shame. He must have been surprised seeing me here, like this. In this uniform, when I should have been dressed like her because, in the real sense, I was the present Luna, though I hadn’t laid claim to that title or agreed to be the alpha’s mate willingly. He coughed and looked away. I could see his struggle. Trying to rescue me without revealing my true identity. He must have known that the alpha didn’t want his mother to see me. But what sort of person works for the person who could kill her in the blink of an eye? I guess I was stubborn like the alpha said. “It’s nice to see you out here” Queen Ashira smiled. “The feeling is mutual, your highness,,” Sean said with a forced smile. “This maid tried to poison me, so I was going to punish her,” she said, looking over her shoulder and glaring at me. “That is such a huge allegation. Did you see her yourself?” “Yes.” The

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    An accusation

I have to admit, life as a maid was horrible. With each passing day, I was beginning to regret my actions. Maybe I might have judged Alpha Knox too harshly. No matter what I did to him, he would never be cruel to me, the way the chief maid and cook were to the maids. They don’t want to see you happy or resting. If they get you in any of the stated two, they always find a way to milk you of the joy in your heart. I went from cleaning to washing to cooking. By the end of the day, I would be too exhausted to think of anything. And the next day was the same, and again and again. This was my life. I hated it with all my heart. And that thing they said, the two palaces would not share jobs were utter bullshit. Time and time again, I had been sent to clean cars and stables belonging to, Alpha Knox. Luckily for me, no one recognized me. I tried to think of possible ways to leave but the more I thought, the more absurd my ideas were becoming. One day while I was cleaning the stables

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    A new life

" What are going to do now?" Anna held my hand as we walked from work, back to the house. I shrugged. "Don't worry, dear Anna, I'll find a way," I said with a small smile. Anna smiled sadly at me too. She was the first person I met at work. While others were snobby and Rude, she was like a breath of fresh air. Alex had asked me to sleep with him if I wanted to keep my job. I couldn't do that. At least not now, that I didn't know when the alpha would be back. He would go bunkers once he found out I had actually mated with someone else. He might even kill. That was exactly not what I wanted. Anna bid me goodbye at my hostel apartment and left. That night I did a lot of thinking. If I didn't work it would mean no food and no money for rent. These two things kept me on my toes when I escaped. I did not want to live on the streets and beg for food like I did when I first escaped. The next day I decided to go look for a job. I walked all through the day but no one had vacancy. I a

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    People are mean

2 weeks later If I had known that walking in the outside world was this brutal, maybe I might not have run away. Firstly, I hid around wearing shawls and all, but even when I found out the alpha was not back, I decided to relax. 2 days later, after sleeping in a shed, a shop owner recommended a job at a cleaning company. And I got it. But then there was a problem. 2 weeks in, the young boss, Alex wanted me to date him. Of course, I said no, but he had a coconut head. He kept chasing me. Staring at me all the time and bringing people's attention to me. I had no option but to try to avoid him. I thought Knox was cocky until I met Alex. One day a general meeting for all staff was going on. While the others listened, I was running around, craning my neck and praying I didn’t get caught. When Alex was called out to speak, I began to sweat profusely. My heart pounded furiously. I was scared that everyone in the room could hear how loud it was. I took in mouthfuls of air as

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    An escape

I jerked awake with such a force. I was panting like I had climbed a wheel. My eyes were wide as I tried to understand what was happening. Where am I? The last thing I remembered was almost drowning. The water was in my throat, eyes, and belly. I had drunk enough and I was full. I was splashing water everywhere, and I screamed for help, but while I struggled, no one came to my rescue. It was while I was screaming that I woke up. I bent my head like a dying flower and wept. Wept so hard. What have I done to deserve this sort of life? Who did I offend? Who were my parents? Maybe if my mum had aborted me, I wouldn’t have to go through all this? It was while I was crying that I remembered what had happened earlier. I was sleeping and heard that noise. I looked down to see myself bound by hands and feet like an animal. Knox! Yes. It must be him. I raised my head, whipping my head around, and then I stopped and squinted. There was a figure at the curtain. I didn’t know what it was.
