Chapter 8

Author: Perfect Timing

That was when I finally remembered.

Sam had designed that butterfly tattoo especially for Tina. His initials were even hidden in the wings.

Without a moment’s hesitation, I posted the security footage online, along with more than a dozen restored intimate photos. The second the footage and photos hit the internet, they blew up.At first, some people still refused to believe it. They insisted I had edited everything and said I was jealous of Tina’s success, so I was trying to ruin her on purpose. But as more and more people came forward to confirm that the video was real, public opinion started to shift. One man even came forward under his real name and admitted he was one of the men Tina had been seeing. As the scandal kept growing, more and more people started speaking out online. Even the police statement from earlier became powerful proof. Tina’s reputation went into free fall.People dug up all kinds of dirt on her. Even her hotel hookups and abortions were exposed one after another. And just as I had guessed, that pregnancy report had indeed belonged to Tina. She had simply used my name on it.A lot of people c

Sam used his status as the so-called victim to build a huge following online. He and Tina were even praised by countless people as the perfect couple. A lot of commenters said the two of them were the reason they still believed in love.As for me, every time I went outside, I was met with hostility from other women and hit with one cruel remark after another.I was even fired from my job because they said my reputation had become too damaging. They refused to pay me the wages they still owed me.Not even my parents, who lived far away in my hometown, were spared.People dug up every detail about my family. Some even tracked my parents down, harassed them in person, and threw spoiled eggs at them. Our relatives blamed them for raising a shameless daughter and pressured them to cut ties with me.Even the neighbors banded together and demanded that my parents move out of the neighborhood. They said they refused to live next to a family with no morals.Once I had gathered enough ev

Tina used me as her star example during the livestream, flashing high-definition private photos of me across the screen. Mixed in were even a few intimate bedroom photos of me and Sam.The moment I saw those pictures, it felt like my whole heart dropped into ice. Nausea surged up from my stomach so violently that I couldn’t hold it back.I threw up on the spot. Only then did the crushing pressure in my chest ease a little. Those photos had only ever existed on Sam’s phone. And now Tina was putting them on public display without the slightest hesitation.Using my pictures, she started lecturing viewers on all the so-called ways to tell whether their girlfriend was still a virgin. She even pointed at my chest and said, “Any woman built like this has definitely been around.”The livestream comments instantly filled with disgusting remarks from male viewers. Countless people picked apart my body, and even Tina joined in.Some people in the comments cursed me out, asking if I was so

The longer I looked, the more certain I became. All at once, everything that hadn’t made sense before suddenly clicked into place. If the woman in those photos was Tina, then it made perfect sense that she had that thick stack of hotel receipts.I pointed to the bit of tattoo showing in one of the photos and pretended to study it more closely.“Tina, I’m pretty sure you have that same tattoo too. Sam only frowned and told me to stop trying to smear Tina.Meanwhile, Tina muttered under her breath that I must have planned this ahead of time and wiped all my payment records.Sam believed her without question. He grabbed my collar and demanded to know exactly who I had been cheating on him with.He went through every man around me one by one. He even suspected the elderly security guard outside my office building, convinced there had to be something inappropriate going on between us.I stared at him in disbelief. What kind of person did he think I was?The evidence was right in front of him, yet he still chose to believe every word Tina said.I let out a cold laugh and asked him who his girlfriend actually was, me or Tina. After hearing that, even the patients’ family members started wondering whether there was something going on between the two of them.A few men in the crowd started egging him on, saying he was one lucky guy to have two women fighting over him.I looked

I stared at Tina in disbelief. Then I repeated her words and asked, almost laughing, what I had done wrong. She answered without the slightest shame. According to her, if it weren’t for me, none of them would have ended up at the police station.Sam immediately backed her up and dumped all the blame on me.He even acted like it was perfectly reasonable to demand that I go to the police station and tell them everything was my fault, that I had brought it all on myself.I was so angry I laughed. They had decided I was pregnant. They refused to listen to a single word I said. And now they actually expected me to forgive everyone. It was ridiculous.I refused without hesitation.Sam grabbed me and yanked me off the hospital bed. The IV in my hand was ripped out, and blood immediately started pouring down my arm.Seeing that, family members of the patients in the nearby beds rushed over to stop him, but Tina stepped in and blocked them. She stood there in the hospital room, loudly
