PAYING IT FORWARD
Sierra looked around the restaurant as she waited for Ken to arrive, usually he would have picked her up, but since it was only a short walk down from the apartment, they agreed to meet there.
She was exhausted from the long hours she worked the week before and the weekend-long conference she attended, but her promise to Ken took priority.
“Hi, sorry that I’m late, I had to drop something off outside the city and there was a traffic jam on my way back,” Ken explained in fluent English with his usual mandarin tinged accent.
