SOLANA

Roman looked away with a tired sigh, his damp hair falling over his face.

"Why would they—no, you wouldn't do that. You're not that kind of person," I blurted, and a soft smile tugged at his lips.

"Really? You really think I can't be the culprit?" He asked, and I nodded quickly, a frown creasing my brows.

He cupped my face with a cold hand, brushing his thumb along my cheek. "You don't know everything about me. I might be a psychopath," he said, and my frown deepened.

"You're not."

The words tumbled from my lips before I could stop them. My husband tilted his head slightly, a spark of amusement in his eyes.

"I'm not? What kind of person do you think I am?" He asked, and I held my hand to his.

"You are...an enigma to others but not to me, Roman. You've been hurt just like me. But, you couldn't express your feelings, so you learned to hide your pain until it became a part of you. Yet, you are so strong and beautiful. You try so hard even when you don't have to. Sti

ROMAN There were no words I could use to describe the moment when Solana's body collapsed against mine. I had suddenly run out of oxygen. Still, I called her name, hoping that she would give me an answer. I was blind. I didn't know what was happening to her, and that terrified the hell out of me. I barely remember calling out for help or how I took her to the clinic. Now I was seated outside the orphanage home, staring at nothing. My hands were still shaking, my heartbeat uneven."Alpha?" My ears twitched at the sound of Zamora's voice. Why was she here? More importantly, how did she know I was here?Slowly, I rose to my feet, the cool breeze ruffling my hair, the strands caressing my cheeks."Why are you here?" I asked, and she shuffled closer."I went to see Tessa for my check up. I saw our Luna there. Her condition is very bad, Alpha. I think she might be suffering from the effects of your curse. She was never strong enough," she said, and my stomach tightened.I'd believe

SOLANA I fiddled with my fingers, my heart racing in my chest. I wasn't sure if my hands were shaking in anticipation or outright fear. But one thing was certain. The moment of truth had finally arrived."Thank you for your hospitality, Alpha Roman," Alpha Reid said, smiling at my husband. I wasn't sure if he could tell that Roman was blind. But it was clear that the man was still not fond of me. He refused to glance my way, almost like I was an insignificant creature under his boots. And as I watched him, he looked and felt more familiar by the second."In every life I've lived, this is the first time you've reached out to ask about the past, Roman. And I'm curious to know why you suddenly want to know what happened in the past. Are you not afraid of what awareness might bring?" Alpha Reid asked, and I swallowed hard, my chest tight.Roman reached for my hand, and I stiffened. Could he sense that I was about to melt right there on the couch from nerves? He laced our fingers t

SOLANA Confused and horrified, I stumble down the hallway, my vision blurring in and out until I step out of the building. Only then do the symptoms ease."What the hell was that?" I gasped, panting."Lana?"I looked up at the sound of Tara's voice, relieved. She hurried over to me, steadying me when I swayed."Your husband asked me to go to you. I guess the mate bond spider senses really works. Are you hurting anywhere?" she said, rubbing my book."I just...I just need to lie down," I croaked.A little while later, I was curled up on the bed with my eyes closed. Tara patted my back gently, her warmth soothing. I had brushed my teeth to get rid of the disgusting taste in my mouth, but I still felt unsettled."Werewolves don't get sick, Lana. What if you're...pregnant?" She said, and my eyes flew open, my heart racing.Could it be true? Roman and I had been very active lately. No, it didn't matter. I was cursed. I couldn't be pregnant."Maybe there was something in her room. Some

SOLANA I hummed under my breath as I walked out of the house. The fresh morning air hit me and I closed my eyes, inhaling deeply. How fortunate I was to see yet another morning. Roman had left me a note saying he was off to a meeting, and he'd also left me a single rose. I just couldn't stop smiling.Today, I decided that I would hit the gym. I wanted to be stronger. I didn't want to be bulky or anything like that. I just wanted to be strong enough to defend myself. I pulled my reddish brown hair into a high bun with a rubber band and was just about to head towards the gym when I saw Nigel by the annex. He stood there, rubbing the back of his neck and pacing back and forth.Nigel finally noticed me when I stepped off the path. His head snapped up too quickly for someone who was usually so composed, but the rest of him stayed rigid, his shoulders squared rigidly. It looked too much like he was trying to hold himself in place."Luna," he greeted, his voice slightly strained. He

ROMAN The sound of our heavy breathing mingled in the air as my cock pulsed inside of her, my body still shaking from the immense pleasure that had detonated inside of me a few seconds ago. Solana leaned in to kiss me, her hand resting lightly on my chest. If anyone asked me how we ended up in bed, I would be rendered speechless. The last thing I remembered was asking Solana to be my eyes, and then she'd agreed, her voice full of determination. I wasn't sure which of us moved first. And now after a fourth orgasm, I was worried I might've hurt her.'Blame it on your monster phallus,' Cerberon sassed, and I laughed, burying my face against Solana's neck. I shifted so I wouldn't crush her, inhaling her sweet, maddening scent. I just couldn't get enough.Gently, I swapped our positions until she was lying right on top of me. It was incredibly intimate. Being able to hear every breath she took, smell her so intensely, and feel her warm skin against mine was like being in paradise.

SOLANA Every wheeze and gasp he let out had me aching with sympathy. So, I slid closer, keeping my voice low and steady."Nigel... hey. Look at me."His fingers trembled as they clawed weakly at his chest. Sweat dripped down his temples, his eyes wild and terribly unfocused."You're okay," I whispered, placing a steadying hand on his back. "You're safe. Just breathe with me, alright? In through your nose... slowly... and out."I inhaled deeply, exaggerating the motion so he could follow. He tried and failed. Then he did it again. The second attempt stuck. His breaths were still shaky, but they gradually fell into rhythm with mine.Tara gently rubbed his back, her brows creased with concern. "You scared the hell out of me," she muttered.Nigel leaned heavily into my touch, supporting himself on the fountain’s edge as the worst of the panic eased off him. After a few more shaky breaths, colour returned to his face."Think you can stand?" I asked softly. He nodded weakly, and my ch
