Chapter 03

When Keisuke overcame his shock, he immediately pulled his sword out and aim at the unconscious lady in his master's arms.

"Yo, move the sword away! She's asleep," Kenshi moved Keisuke's sword away.

"Fuwa Fuwa!"

Kenshi looked at his Kebano.

"Really? I can't quite figure which kingdom she's from." He looked at Keisuke. "Can you?"

"Nope."

"Fuwa fuwa."

"Let's ask her when she wakes up, Zed. Let's not dive to conclusions," Kenshi said and looked down at the lady again.

It's a young lady, with fair skin. Her hair is long black and reaches just below her waist turning a flame orange color as it passes her elbows. She has a pretty face and long lashes which made Kenshi smile.

A pretty face lady from the sky. She doesn't seem like a demon, he thought. His eyes widened, she must be from Hikari! He stared more with a plan on his head.

"Let's camp here tonight," Kenshi uttered. "Ah, Keisuke let's give her a proper bedding. She's human, she's not used to sleeping up on a tree branch."

"And?" Keisuke raised a brow.

"And I want you to get stuff at the palace. Ya know, my silk sheets and expensive things I don't really use."

Keisuke rolled his eyes. What a stupid future king but this prince is unlike any other. Kenshi has the strangest mind. He's calm and loves to keep the balance between light and dark yet he causes trouble a lot. He wants friends from Hikari even though the people from there never liked the creatures from Yami. He will be a great king except he loves flirting with girls and he's a weird prince.

"I can't do that, your highness. Your wound hasn't fully healed yet and we're still in the land of Pinress. Creatures from different kingdoms gather here for freedom. I must not leave your side."

Kenshi thought about it. Actually, his wounds don't bother him but he can't risk the girl's life. He's still weak and they can't escape without Keisuke at this rate.

"Fuwa fuwa!"

Zed!

Kenshi

yelled in his head. His Kebano can produce soft cotton to keep the lady warm and cozy.

"Oi, Zed! Produce some cotton just enough for her to settle in," he ordered.

"Fuwa?" Zed tilted his cute head to the side.

"A bed for her," Kenshi stated and pointed the lady in his arms.

"You should put her down," Keisuke suggested.

"Not until she has something soft to sleep in."

"Fuwa, fuwa!"

The Kebano crawled to the ground not far from Kenshi and started to produce cotton. Layering them so it was comfy like how a mother bunny would pull its hair for her nest.

"Fuwa!"

Zed presented what he did and Kenshi smiles at him. He then stand up carrying the lady and carefully puts her down.

"She will get cold," he murmured. He remembered his cut shirt, though there's blood, he still took it off and covered the lady with it.

"You're being too nice, foolish prince." Keisuke didn't like the idea of keeping the lady who fell from the sky.

"I'm always nice, Keisuke."

Kenshi sighed and laid his back on the grass. He faced sideways to glance at the lady's face and his mouth turned to a smile.

"She's pretty," Kenshi mumbled. "I want to own her."

Keisuke couldn't hear what the crown prince had mumbled. He already hopped up the branch to guard his highness and the lady he isn't sure about.

The next day, Mizuko awoke from the sun's rays on her face. She blinked a couple of times and sit up. Then she started rubbing her eyes and realized she's outside. But then the surrounding changed and her house was nowhere.

Surprised, Mizuko immediately stood up. Then she noticed where she slept on.

"Black cotton?" She asked, frowning as she picks some of it. Then she saw a cloth that has blood on it. So immediately, she searched on herself for any cuts but there was none.

"Maybe it's from that woman last night," she mumbles. "Where the heck am I?"

Mizuko looked around her surrounding. There's a river, then there's where she's at and then nothing else but trees—big trees. This was nothing like where she lives.

"Is this a dream?" She mumbled, confused with her surrounding.

"Fuwa, fuwa!"

When Mizuko heard that, she immediately looked around. It's a cute voice, like a cute creature.

"Fuwa!"

It seemed like it came from behind her so she turned and saw a fluffy ball kind of thing floating in mid-air. Alien, is the first thing she thought of it.

"Please don't hurt me!" she tried to sound calm but she was really terrified. Cute aliens are adorable but they're the worst in movies!

"Fuwa, fuwa!" Her Kebano kept explaining to her, but she couldn't understand what it was saying.

"I-if you want me to, I will go! I-I just— don't hurt me!" She was so ready to run as her lips were starting to lose their colors and she was shaking.

Her Kebano was confused, it started to scratch its head.

"Fuwa!"

The Kebano found an idea. It went down to the ground and crawled to get something. Mizuko was still confused but the little creature took a big leaf and from its body, it took a pen out.

It was such a surprise for Mizuko because the creature was small but it has hidden a pen?

The Kebano started writing on the leaf and Mizuko was amazed that it can write so well.

"My name is Roya and I am a Kebano," Mizuko read out loud. This is crazy, she thought but continues to read. "I was appointed to guide you by Hanabi... your mother. My mom?"

Mizuko has little to no memories of her mother. Though the one who took care of her said her mother's name is Hanabi and that she came out of nowhere to their town.

"Are you kidding me?" She doesn't believe this creature in front of her! "You're lying to me! And Kebano? Is someone playing a prank on me?!" She shouts.

Roya looked down as she failed to guide her master's daughter. She was about to lose hope when she remembers Hanabi giving her a photograph.

"Fuwa!" Roya rejoiced, holding a photo in both her tiny hands.

Mizuko, with her brows still drawn together, took the photo from Roya. She looks at the photograph carefully and saw the date. It was when she was five, the woman in the photograph and this fluffy thing was with her.

"Who took this photo?" Mizuko softly asked, not taking her eyes off the photograph.

"Fuwa, fuwa!" Roya with her pen draw what seemed to be an old Polaroid camera.

Mizuko, doesn't remember her mother's face until now. Tears flooded her eyes. Finally, she remembers her mother's face.

"Roya!" She cries and picked up her Kebano. She hugged her tightly and cried.

They were having an emotional time when suddenly they heard a rumbling noise. It's like some giant was running towards them. Big footsteps getting near.

"Fuwa Fuwa!" Roya yelled, sounds like panic in its voice.

Before Mizuko could run away, a big saber-tooth appeared right in front of her eyes. Her soft-looking pale pink eyes widened as her body froze, she couldn't run anymore. Her visions were blurry to black and her heart beat faster and then she fainted.

Before Mizuko could hit the ground, Kenshi hopped off of Keisuke and rush to catch her. With Mizuko in his arms, he smiled.

"She's not used to seeing incredible creatures," Kenshi softly chuckled and looks at Keisuke. "She fell asleep again."
