"Forgive me, my Lord but... the dark prince has once again escaped our guards," the minister of defense had informed the King of the land of Hikari himself.
"Hmm..." The King sitting on the throne started thinking about the best way to get rid of this nuisance. "The next time that demon shows up, execute him!"
"But my Lord, wouldn't it cause trouble with the King of Yami?"
"I can't just let that demon foolishly destroy our land for fun! And aren't we already in an edge of a promise?"
"I understand, my Lord." The minister heavily sighed and bowed his head once more. "I am taking my leave now." He stepped back and turn his back against the king.
As soon as the minister was out of the room, the head eunuch serving the king calmly stepped forward.
"Your Majesty, it's time to head back to your chamber as it's getting late," Nozumo, the head eunuch told the king.
"I've tried so hard to get to this throne! I will not let anyone from Hikari nor the Yami ruin my reign." The King's eyes were like of the demons that he despises. "You go ahead, I need to feel the throne's power a little more."
Nozumo bowed down, taking some steps back and finally turning his back on the King. He himself has some intentions hidden deep in his eyes.
"Father."
The King of Hikari opened his eyes at the deep voice of his son, Yushiro. A boy with a scowling face, dull green to black hair color, pale skin, and lavender purple eyes.
"I apologize for disturbing your indulgence in your throne but ... I've heard that the crown prince of Yami has yet again, welcomed himself in our land."
"And I assume you want to take this demon's life with your sword."
"Only if you'll let me, Father."
The King put a finger on his chin and thought about it. He would've never taken Yushiro in if it weren't for how good Yushiro was in handling his blades. The king saw him as an asset that he can use to protect himself and his throne.
"Yushiro," he calls. "That demon is the future king of Yami. Don't let your guard down."
"I understand, Father." Yushiro bows down and looks at the King in the eyes. "I shall go and behead that demon," he grunted.
As soon as Yushiro was out of sight the king's evil laughter filled the throne room. When he stopped, he glared at nowhere and stands up. "I will be king of this world!" he announced.
"Fuwa fuwa!"
Kenshi stopped hopping on branches as soon as he heard his Kebano's warning. He smirked when he sniffed the stinking intent to kill from someone getting closer.
"He's near, isn't he?"
"Fuwa!"
"Yushi that little pest is bugging me tonight, huh? Tch! Let's go, Zed!"
Hoping he doesn't create more damage to distort the balance of light and dark, Kenshi continues to jump on branches. Faster as he was before, so Yushiro couldn't get a hold of him.
Right when he was about to jump out of that forest, Kenshi was blocked by his number one enemy. Tonight isn't on his side, he thought.
"Oi! Yushiro! What are you doing in this forest? Taking a walk?" Kenshi asked while keeping an annoying face.
"Tch," Yushiro scorned. "You know exactly why I'm here, demon."
"Demon?" Kenshi chuckled sarcastically as one corner of his mouth lift up. "You've been chasing me since you've known my name. Can't you at least consider me as your friend? I haven't had any friend from the light yet."
"The crown prince of Yami wants a friend from the light?" Yushiro's eyes were full of hatred and his voice was ridiculing Kenshi. "Why did you cross the boundaries again?" This time his voice was serious.
"Here we go again," Kenshi rolled his eyes. "I wanted friends and I didn't mean the damage, little friend. Plus, we're in the Pinress, aren't we?"
"That's why..." Yushiro pulled his sword and Kenshi smirked. "It's the good place to die for a demon."
No time wasted, Yushiro lunges with his blade aiming at the demon prince. Unfortunately, Kenshi was well trained, he dodged the sharp blade.
"Wew! My head could've flown somewhere now," Kenshi said, laughing. "You really intend to kill without getting to know me?"
Yushiro didn't want to fail this time so he didn't answer but charged again. This time, the demon's dagger met Yushiro's blade.
"You're really strong, Yushiro," Kenshi remarked beaming at Yushiro.
"I don't like being mocked!" Yushiro grunted. He withdrew his sword and lunges again with more force.
They repeated that process over and over again. The sound of their blades echoing and the sparks when those meet, it was magnificent!
When Kenshi saw how Yushiro was trying hard while he's just chilling and having fun, he started letting his guard down. He had forgotten that Yushiro is a human from Hikari, sorcery is their top option when they're losing the sword fight.
"Fuwa fuwa!" Zed yelled alerting Kenshi for another enemy hiding.
Because Kenshi's guard was down, he didn't sense someone else. When he was about to unleash his demon energy, an arrow had come flying hitting his left arm.
Poison, Kenshi thought. He's a demon so he can survive an arrow of such a scheme. But unfortunately, when he faced Yushiro, dust magic met his eyes.
The next thing he knew, a blade full of poison cut deep from his right arm down to his left waist. Magic dust together with the poisons and blade, his body needs time to heal and fight those poisons. So, Kenshi helplessly falls to the ground.
Yushiro with a grin of satisfaction squatted in front of Kenshi.
"You should never let your guard down," Yushiro whispered. He moved back and stand up. "No creature from Hikari will ever be your friend."
Kenshi saw Yushiro raising his sword. Though death was certain of him at this point, he refused to die.
"Not yet," he managed to mumble and smirk.
Right when Yushiro was about to lunge down his sword, the sound of a big monster running their way had stopped him. With furrowed brows, he looked to his right and his eyes widened.
A huge saber-tooth-like creature had made its way to pick up Kenshi and continues to run fast inside the forest. Yushiro just stood there bewitched by that huge cat. He has never encountered one before but he guess that they were true. Only the royal family of the Yami can summon those creatures.
"You're lucky this time, demon."
"Your Highness, I apologize," Yushiro's companion, Blue, who shot the arrow apologizes while catching her breath. "I lost them."
"Yeah... it's fine. Let's head back to Hikari for now," Yushiro muttered. It's enough for tonight, they should be more prepared next time.
When the sabertooth reached a safe place, he put down the crown prince. Zed, the Kebano, shows up and lay beside his highness.
"That was intense!" Kenshi guffawed at his near death. He sits up fast like he wasn't damaged severely. "Yo Keisuke! Thanks for saving me back there!"
Keisuke, the huge sabertooth transformed to his human form. An extremely toned and muscular build notably anywhere in his body. He has a pretty feminine face, wide soft pale green eyes, long lashes, and a well-mannered mouth. His hair is black with blues on the tip and is shoulder length.
"You foolish, prince! I told you to stop trying to befriend those from Hikari!" Keisuke scolded Kenshi.
"Ahah!" Kenshi shouts and points at Keisuke. "You look like Yushiro just now!" And then he started laughing. "You guys have the same scowled face but yours is fem—"
"Shut up or I'll eat you alive!" Keisuke growled.
While still grinning, Kenshi was about to stand up when suddenly in the air a portal appeared. They gazed at it with a frown and with the least he expected. A lady from nowhere fell right on Kenshi's arms then the portal disappeared.
Nobody could move in shock. Kenshi just stared at the lovely lady in his arms, his face confused.
"Where on Sozou did she came from?"
Back in the world of Souzou, three months after the battle, the liveliness of the Kingdom came back. The children would run freely. Demons and humans are free to cross borders now. They have come to understand that each is alike each other. That the Demonic rule will be honored and respected by the humans as their thanks for helping them free their kingdom from the devils.Today, they celebrate the crowning of the new king and everyone is present. Demon and humans came, the King and Queen together with the crown princess had also attended. Well, some human were still scared of the king and Queen as they appear too powerful but as soon as they saw the smiles they felt relieved. The ceremony was perfect, the crowds cheer and when they saw their new King, the roarin
Their enemies were captured as they surrender and Kozuko announced their win against the devil. It was time to take their Kingdom back.Hannock decided to disappear out of their sight. After all, all of his magic were taken by Kenshi and all he can do now is live a life in the shadows. It was like Hanabi had spoken to him once more while his feet were reached by the golden water. For the first time in a while he felt warm and he felt the embrace of his sister. He longed to feel it again and Kenshi made him feel it again. Now Hannock finally accepts the fact that only someone who didn't need the crystals could control it. Someone like Kenshi is most suitable for those crystals. As Hannock roams Pinress,
The moment finally came when all of the warriors needed to say their good byes to their loved ones and their homes. Those who go to war either comes back or stays in the battlefield. As everyone marches to cross the border and enter the borderland Pinress, Mizuko glances side by side. She has been into war a couple of times already. This shouldn't make her feel overwhelmed but it does. The fact that, her family and friends was there, that she could lose them terrifies her.The stressing part is, she can't get a hold of Kenshi. He is supposed to be with them in this war but he is nowhere to be found. Though she is secured by any harm here, she isn't safe from the promise she made with Pixie. Hannock could target only Kenshi but she is relieved that Kenshi wasn't here."I hope h
In the middle of training, Blue had excused herself when Keisuke showed up at their training site. They've really not talk so much about them these days."I know this is a bit sudden but, I would like to ask for your time tonight."Keisuke couldn't look straight in Blue's eyes. He has not really asked a girl before so naturally he is not so confident to ask."I-I can't," Blue replied that actually made Keisuke abruptly look at her."Why? Are you doing something later? Training?""No, it's just... my brother. We agreed to have dinner together later. You see, we are going to war tomorrow and I might not be able to spend time with him anymore so we decided to have that dinner."Now he understands why. He should have asked her yesterday but
For her third and fourth day, Mizuko spent it all with Kenshi. They went swimming on the river, the other one camping. They stargazed and wish on shooting stars. In all those days, Mizuko wished she could do those again with Kenshi. She wished she wasn’t blinded by revenge then.“Mermaids here are very terrible. They drown people they do not like,” Mizuko told Kenshi. One time when she decided to come along with her father’s mission, they needed to cross the sea. She heard a beautiful melody and she didn’t notice she was under a spell until her brother covered her ears.“They are not all bad. They are actually fond of things in the land,” Kenshi retorts.“You a
I am in love with you. Those words are spiraling inside of Mizuko's head. They don't seem to disappear no matter what she does, his voice was everywhere.Kenshi looked too serious to even take it back and he didn't take it back. It made everything worse for Mizuko. That when they came back to Souzou, she ran away from him. It was like a dejavu from when one of them confessed and she ran away. She herself barely even remember that embarrassing moment."Ugh! Why did I have to run away from him again? It's embarrassing!" She groans, her hands on her face and pulling them down."Love problems?" Kozuko who was wiping his blade asked her. She then nodded. "So he finally admitted to you his feelings. Good thing. I don't see why you have to groan like that.""I ra
