47. New Beginning

★ELAINE'S POV★

{One month later}

“My Lady, please come to the dining and eat something. You haven't had anything for days and soon it would take a toll on your health.” My new maid, Amy pleaded with me through the door.

For days, even weeks... I remained in my dark chambers, not wanting to see the sunlight. Deep down, I don't want to accept the fact that each day was passing by, yet, there was no longer Tania. Alas, when I managed to get out of my chambers, it was mostly at dusk and I head straight to Tania's grave to speak with her for hours.

This attitude of mine has persisted for one month now. Not that I was proud of it, but I just wanted my friend and sister back. I had no control over my emotions. Piece by piece, I could feel myself slipping away.

Amy knocked on the door continuously, hoping to get me to respond. But I didn't.

“Go away, I am not hungry!” I raised my voice at her and then the incessant knocks ceased.
