46. Truth Hurts

★ELAINE'S POV★

{Two days later}

“Aww.” I groaned weakly as I fluttered my eyelids open. Suddenly Tania was staring back at me with the brightest smile on her face.

I returned the smile. “Tania?”

She dabbed my face with the wet towel in her hands and said; “Thank goodness...you are finally awake. I missed you so much.” But that voice didn't sound like Tania's. It was— Beta Adrian.

For a moment, my vision blurred and a wave of nausea swept through me. Nonetheless, Beta Adrian helped me to a sitting position, then tucked a pillow to support my back.

“Why are you the one doing this? Where is Tania?" I asked weakly.

He issued me that blank stare, then his eyes fell on my wrist. I followed his gaze to see the bandage wrapped around it. Alas, the memories of everything that happened came crashing down all at once.

Dammit, it wasn't a dream!

I was about to tell him that I had a very disturbing dream about Tania, but it wasn't a fucking dream! My Tania was no more.
