Chapter 5

Azuka noticed Sliver reaction immediate, his jaw tightened.

“take her upstairs” one of the guard suggested quickly.

“no” Azuka spoke calmly.

That single word made everyone go silent instantly. her heart began beating more faster and harder. Azuka looked twards the church entrance, completely calm. Like he already knew what was going to happen next, then he spoke without looking at her.

“stay close to me”

The word sounded like a command, something strange went down her stomach. Before Sliver could process what he said the church door flew opened violently.

Three men entered.

Felix men, she recognized them immediately, their eyes landed on her. “there she is”

Panic burst through her chest, one of them moved forward  then stopped after seeing Azuka standing beside her. the whole atmosphere changed instantly, fear passed the man face so fast it almost died.

“Loretto” he breathed

Azuka expression never changed for once

“she’s coming home with us” another man forced out, shaken.

Silence

Then Azuka spoke softly.

“no”

Just like that, one word. But the entire church seemed so scared, felix men  exchanged fared looks.

“you know who she belongs to” one tried to reason with him.

Something evil entered Azuka’s eyes

Slowly, he stepped in front of Sliver, hiding her completely .

Then he smiled, slowly.  Somehow it felt more terrifying like he was going to pull out guns.

“she. belongs. to. Herself.” Azuka said quietly.

            

            

Felix pov

The glass shattered against the wall beside him.

Nobody moved, nobody breathed .

The men standing inside felix Vase room kept their heads low as alcohol slowly dripped down the tiled wall , running across the expensive rug. Felix chest rose and fell with rage.

“she stupidly disappeared” he repeated loudly, his tone were was than screaming.

One of the guards swallowed slowly “ Sir Felix, we already searched from west tp north district, and the oth-“

“ I never asked where you fools searched” felix loosened the cuffs of his wedding shirt slowly, jaw clenched so tight. The wedding was meant for him to secure everything.

Political alliances.

More money.

And more power.

The vole family joining his future administration, and sliver—

Beautiful, obedient sliver---, had destroyed every thing by running away.

He still felt the humiliation burning under his skin.

Hundreds of high important guests.

Camera everywhere.

Now news had already spread online:

He wanted to kill someone, instead he turned towards the windows overlooking the big city as rain poured outside.

“she couldn’t have gone far” another guard said carefully

Felix turned smilling coldly. “ she too emotional, easy to scare” he looked down on his wrist, began adjusting his watch till it fit. “ people like sliver always run to safety”

Only that there was now where safe for her to run too. The office door suddenly opened, Felix father walked in first, followed by sliver father.

Tom vole.

Even now, the old man looked more angry than worried. And Felix hate him for that.

Tom sighed heavily. “ those foolish media already released article’s, they are also asking questions”

Felix turned slowly, annoyed “and?”

“you need to calm down”.

Silence filled the room, one of the guard quickly stepped back as Felix began laughing loudly.

“calm down?”

Tom expression hardened slowly “ this marriage between you and my daughter still needs to happen”. Something ugly moved  inside Felix instantly because that the main issues, every body only cared about the marriage.

The alliance.

Their image, no one understands what sliver actually mean towards his heart.

Not anymore.

Not after years of shaping and training her into something special that belongs forever to him by his side, he remember the ways she looked covered with fear in the that beautiful dress.

Shaking with fear.

Unable to walk well.

So beautiful, and then she ran away.

His jaw tightened instantly “ she embarrassed me”

Tom looked unimpressed at his inlaw. “then fixed it quietly”

Felix stepped closer slowly towards his in law “and if she refuses?”

“make her understand that you are her husband!”. The coldness in tom’s tone slowly eased the tension in the room. Not surprising, sliver’s father had never for once treated her like a normal father and daughter relationship or showing her love but as an investment, a long time investment, that would yield a bigger profit for him.

This was why Felix liked him, they understood each other perfectly well. One on the guards cleared his throat slowly to draw attention. “there’s…another issues”.

Felix shoot him an angry look, the man hesitated then continued, “we were able to track her near the northern hill, she entered the abandoned church sirs”

Silence.

For the first time that night fear spread across tom’s face. Felix noticed immediately. “what?”

Tom breathed out slowly “that church belongs to Azuka Loretto”. The name alone sent shiverers down everyone body, including the guards. Felix face twisted instantly, of course it had to be him.

Azuka loretto.

The city’s most favorite ghost story.

Crime lord.

Smuggler king.

And executioner. A very powerful man, that even the most corrupted politicians avoided speaking his name publicly.

Felix hated him with passion, not because of the rumors but because Azuka has something Felix never fully achieved.

Fear.

Real fear. The type of fear that silence the whole rooms he enters or the whole room call his name. felix walked slowly towards his wine shelves, picked a bottle of whiskey, gulping half of the bottle at once.

“what exactly is Azuka that bastard, doing with her”

Silence.

It irritated    that no one could answer, are they all this scared of him despite not being here.

“I asked a fucking question”

Tom finally spoke “if Azuka wants her dead,k she would already be dead”.

Something dark flashed in Felix eyes.

Possessiveness.

Hatred.

Jealousy.

His fingers held the whisky bottle so tightly , growling “she’s mine”

“careful” but Felix was barely able to hear him. He suddenly started picturing sliver and Azuka together, she staring at his face, giving him the trust he in her with fear, thinking about it made Felix skins crawl. He set the glass cerefully, “what do you know about the church” he asked.

“tom hesitated and Felix noticed.

“what are you hiding?” he asked.

“nothing that concerns you”. Felix smiled slowly, coldly cause everything now concerns him because his bride is in the wrong church.

“should we send in more men to retrieve her?” felix stared at the window long before deciding “no”. his guard blinked, confused at their boss order.

“Azuka is a man who fears nothing, cornering him like that seems risky, we need to be patient, plan a strategy with a leverage because one wwway or another sliver will come back to him. People like her always brake under tensioning. And if he Azuka Loretto  thinks he can take what belongs to Felix…..

Then the devil under the churchicis was  about to learn what type of monster he provoked.
