Third POV

The dim glow of the pendant lights barely touched the shadows in Renata’s penthouse. Marco leaned against the marble counter, watching her with amusement as she poured herself a drink.

“You’re awfully bold for a man with no place to go,” she muttered, swirling the amber liquid in her glass.

Marco chuckled. “And you’re awfully desperate for a woman who claims she was ready to move on.”

Renata shot him a glare before taking a slow sip. “I gave him a chance to reconsider.”

“And he crushed it under his boot.” Marco tilted his head. “Tell me, sweetheart, did you really think Cassiel would let you back in?”

Renata’s jaw clenched.

“I thought he’d at least remember what we had,” she admitted, voice laced with bitterness.

Marco smirked. “Oh, he remembers. He just doesn’t care.”

She set the glass down with more force than necessary.

“You speak as if you know him better than I do,” she muttered.

Marco’s grin didn’t waver. “I know what he does to people who think they can manipulate him

Third POVRenata sat in the dimly lit underground bar, smoke curling from her lips as she took a long drag from her cigarette. The air was thick with the scent of alcohol and sweat, the kind of place where secrets and sins coexisted. She leaned back against the worn leather couch, legs crossed, eyes half-lidded as she watched the room through the haze.A slow, sultry jazz tune played from the dusty speakers, vibrating through the floor. Renata’s eyes were glazed, a smirk playing on her lips as she exhaled, letting the smoke swirl around her like a dark halo. Her thoughts were a jumbled mess, but that was the point—she didn’t want to think tonight.A shadow fell over her, and she glanced up, eyes narrowing. A woman stood before her, barely clothed, with a wicked smile and eyes that promised distraction. Renata didn’t bother hiding her once-over, gaze trailing from the woman’s messy blonde hair to her fishnet-clad legs.“You look lonely,” the woman purred, sliding onto

Third POVEdgar leaned back, drumming his fingers against the polished wooden armrest, his expression contemplative. George was muttering under his breath about “kids running things,” while Samuel remained silent, eyes narrowing thoughtfully at the recent news.Suddenly, the door to the chamber burst open, slamming against the wall with a loud thud. A guard stumbled in, breathless and disheveled, almost tripping over his own feet. He straightened quickly, his chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath.“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” George barked, his face twisting with fury.Samuel shot the guard a glare. “Do you have a death wish, barging in here without permission?”The guard swallowed hard, his face paling. “S-Sir, I apologize. It’s urgent—”Edgar raised a hand, silencing both his companions. His cold gaze fixed on the guard. “This better be worth your life. Speak.”The guard’s voice was shaky, his eyes darting between the three men as

Third POVThe room was dimly lit, with shadows flickering against the ornate walls as the three men sat in their usual formation. The centered man, tall and imposing even while seated, leaned back, his gloved fingers tapping rhythmically on the armrest. To his left sat a shorter, broader figure, his hood pulled low, concealing most of his face, while the man on the right appeared more slender, his posture rigid and alert.Silence hung in the air, broken only by the faint hum of the ventilation system. The centered man finally spoke, his voice low and commanding.“We’ve lost another asset,” he stated, his tone void of emotion. The shorter man grunted. “Another one? Are we still talking about Alexander or someone else?”The slender man to the right nodded. “The confirmation just came in. Valerian’s people couldn’t reach him in time. By the time they stormed the penthouse, it was over.”The centered man’s fingers stopped tapping. “Cause of death?”The slende

Third POVAxel leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, muscles tense beneath his shirt as he watched Gavin struggle with the zipper on his duffel bag. Gavin cursed under his breath, yanking it back and forth, frustration evident in his every move.“We’re moving out soon,” Axel announced, his tone firm but not unkind.Gavin shot him a look, eyes narrowing. “Moving? Where to?”“Boss’s orders. Penthouse was always temporary. Gotta relocate.” Axel stepped further into the room, scanning the scattered clothes and half-packed bags on the bed. “You haven’t even started?”Gavin huffed, tossing a shirt into the bag with more force than necessary. “Kinda hard to pack when I don’t even know why we’re running.”Axel’s lips quirked into a smirk. “Running? Who said anything about running?”Gavin gestured around the room, his frustration bubbling over. “What else would you call it? Guys showed up here trying to kill me. You’re telling me that’s normal?”Axel shrug

Third POVCassiel stood in the dimly lit corridor, his hands still smeared with Valerian’s blood. Axel approached him, wiping sweat from his brow, his muscles tense and alert.Cassiel handed him a brown envelope. “Prepare everything. We’re leaving. This penthouse was just a temporary spot.”Axel gave a single nod, taking the envelope without question. “Got it. What about the bodies?”Cassiel glanced back at the carnage, his face devoid of emotion. “Clean it up. Leave no trace. I’ll take care of Valerian.”Axel didn’t hesitate, immediately moving to clear the bloodstains from the floor. Cassiel dragged Valerian’s barely conscious body across the room, his movements precise and methodical. Valerian groaned, trying to form words, but Cassiel didn’t give him the chance. He shoved Valerian into the car’s back seat, binding his hands with zip ties and securing his legs. Cassiel’s movements were cold and efficient, devoid of hesitation.Axel reappeared at the do

Third POVCassiel moved swiftly, his steps almost soundless as he approached the large windows overlooking the entrance. The shadows of armed men flickered in the dim light, moving with caution but clearly preparing for a confrontation.Axel appeared by his side, holding a rifle loosely, his tattoos catching the faint glow of the hallway light. "They’ve surrounded the building," Axel murmured, eyes fixed on the movement below.Cassiel gave a single nod, his gaze never leaving the scene outside. "Valerian’s men. He’s here."Axel's jaw tightened. "You want me to clear the south wing?"Cassiel's lips curved into a cold smile. "No. Let them come closer. Once they’re inside, we control the ground."The guards stationed at the main entrance awaited orders, guns drawn and poised. Cassiel gave a subtle hand signal, and they relaxed just slightly, knowing the plan was to lure the intruders deeper. As the first wave of Valerian’s men breached the door, Axel moved l

Third POVCassiel carefully slipped his arm out from under Julian’s head, making sure not to wake him. The faint rise and fall of Julian’s breathing reassured him that he was finally resting after the chaos of the past days. Gently tucking the blanket around him, Cassiel stood, casting one last glance before stepping out of the room. The hallway was quiet, dimly lit by the soft glow from the wall sconces. As he moved toward the living area, he noticed Enzo standing by the window, phone pressed to his ear, his body tense. Cassiel could tell immediately that something was wrong. He stayed back, giving Enzo space to finish the call. Enzo’s knuckles whitened around the phone, and his jaw tightened as he spoke, his tone clipped and low. “Just keep me updated. No mistakes this time.”Cassiel folded his arms, waiting. As Enzo hung up, he didn’t immediately turn around. Cassiel’s voice cut through the silence. “What’s going on?”Enzo inhaled sharply, finally turning to f

Third POVAxel’s muscles flexed as he lifted the heavy dumbbells, his bare chest glistening with sweat under the soft lighting of the penthouse gym. The steady rhythm of his breaths matched the weight’s rise and fall, his focus unwavering.A few feet away, Bash—now going by Gavin—mirrored his movements, though with slightly less finesse. His hands gripped the weights firmly, his posture tense. Axel shot him a sidelong glance, smirking.“You’re holding back,” Axel grunted, raising his own weights effortlessly. “You keep hesitating like that, and you’ll never build strength.”Gavin exhaled sharply, setting the weights down with a thud. “Easy for you to say. You’re built like a damn tank.”Axel chuckled, switching to a heavier set. “Muscle’s just the byproduct. It’s discipline that counts. If you can’t focus, you’ll just end up hurting yourself.”Gavin wiped his hands on a towel, trying to mask his frustration. “It’s not about focus. It’s... I’m not used to this

Third POVEnzo leaned back in his chair, chuckling softly as Miss Maria placed a plate of warm pastries on the dining table. The kitchen’s soft glow made the room feel almost peaceful despite the chaos of the previous night.Miss Maria wiped her hands on her apron, giving Enzo a pointed look. “You should eat more, dear. You look like you’ve been through hell.”Enzo smirked, picking up a pastry. “You’re not far off. It’s been a long night.”Miss Maria clicked her tongue, shaking her head. “That boy, always stirring up trouble. You’d think he’d finally settle down.”Enzo arched a brow, intrigued. “Boy?”She gave him a knowing smile. “Cassiel. I’ve known him since he was a child. Always had a temper, that one. But a good heart, buried somewhere under all that stubbornness.”Enzo couldn’t help but laugh. “Good heart? You must have seen something the rest of us missed.”Miss Maria waved a dismissive hand. “You just don’t know how to look. Cassiel hides it
