Chapter-6 I Am No.15

He approached her and touched her on the shoulder. "Hey, have you been sitting there while I was gone?"

She blinked as she looked up, then at his hand on her shoulders. He felt embarrassed and quickly withdrew his hand. She blinked once more and returned her gaze to his.

"Did you sit here for the entire seven hours?" Lucifer inquired once more, unable to satisfy his curiosity.

This time, she looked him in the eyes, blinked, and nodded.

"Why?" He couldn't help but wonder. How can someone sit in the same spot for seven hours? Without even a single inch of movement!

When she said, she tilted her head and blinked, then returned her look to his, and he took a step back to create some distance. "Didn't you say something?"

"Are you normally this obedient, girl?" He inquired, laughing. Even when he was only two years old, he wasn't this obedient. Neither was his sister, who was normally one of the most diligent students in the school.

She nodded and blinked. When she noticed him moving, she locked her focus on him. She acted as if she wanted to accompany him but wasn't sure if she could do so right now.

When he took two paces and didn't see her, he turned to look at her and saw she was still there, like if a robot was waiting for the next command.

He chuckled and said, "Come on, we have to go, I'm starving." She blinked twice before nodding. Then she began to follow him.

"Can you tell me your name?" He asked to begin the conversation, and then he would inquire about her family and see if he could assist her in any way. She couldn't stay in the park any longer.

She came to a halt and looked at him. She blinked her eyes, "name," she said again, and fell into deep thought.

"Do you think it's a difficult question?" He inquired, amused, as he looked at her furrowed brows.

She blinked and shook her head before counting to 15 on her hands and saying, "No. 15."

He was moving with a suppressed laugh when he paused and questioned, "What did you say?"

The girl glanced and blinked; she looked him in the eyes and responded. "No. 15 is my name.

"Can you tell me what a name is?"

He was perplexed by her response.

He realised that the only reason for her weird response was that she didn't even know what a name was. After all, who would call their daughter 15? Was she really so ill? Is it OK for him to admit her to the hospital? Then his eyes widened at the prospect of her fleeing any mental institution. 'Am I bringing a crazy girl to my house?'

He came to a halt at the concept. But because he didn't instruct her to halt, she moved and collided with him.

"Awww, you're made of steel?" He inquired as he rubbed his back. He felt as if he had collided with a pole rather than a pretty small girl.

"No, maybe lava and rocks," she said, blinking once more.

He simply shook his head. It was pointless to question her, and it was too late to inquire about mental asylums. He was exhausted and hungry. His entire body was achy. And all he wanted to do was go home and sleep on his bed.

His legs ached just thinking about his bed. Standing for hours on end was not only exhausting, but also bad for his back and feet.

And this female had also mentally tired him. "I'm afraid I can't address you as No. 15. It's just strange. In the meantime, how about we come up with a name for you?"

He asked the girl who was following him again if the manner she was following him reminded him of the puppy they had when they were kids. When they were playing, the small puppy would always follow them. At the notion, his expressions soften.

"All right," the girl responded, blinking and nodding. Why does she always blink when I ask her a question? Did she have any eye problems as well? He stared her in the eyes. But her eyes are stunning. It didn't appear that they had any flaws. They were simply otherworldly.

"Okay, then I'll tell you a couple names and you may pick one. What about Amanda?

Amelia, Vivian, Isabella, Grace, Mary, and Sofi are some of the characters."

"I like Sofi, I like Sofi." She stated she was stopping him in the middle of his journey to take more names.

"Huh!" The child came to a halt once more, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. Yes, he had urged her to choose a name and had also given her the name Sofi as an option.

But he never imagined she'd pick it. Now he had to explain why he couldn't name her Sofi.

He cleared his throat with a cough and continued, "Actually, Bella is a better fit for you because you are both gorgeous and refined, exactly like a belle. You have a lovely face, Belle. What are your thoughts?" He bribed her to change her mind.

The girl looked into his eyes and blinked, then she blinked again and again, and after a while, just as he was beginning to worry, believing her irritation had intensified, she murmured, "you are lying."

His fright faded to bewilderment. "Huh? What exactly am I lying about?"

"You don't want me to pick Sofi, do you?" She said it matter-of-factly, not blinking.

Guilt shot in his eyes, and he averted his gaze to look at the road. "Yes, I don't want to call you Sofi; can you give me another name? Please." He inquired, scratching the back of his neck.

She blinked and nodded like she always did.

"Oh, it was simple. I assumed you liked the name "With a smile, he inquired. He heard a honk and turned to face the approaching bus. Thank you, God! He glowed.

"No, it's because you enjoy it," she said, blinking.

Huh! It appeals to me! But the bus arrived before he could ponder or ask. He grabbed her hand and dragged her to the bus. Because it was the last late-night bus, it was mostly empty.

He easily snatched the seats on the backside and sat next to her.
