Chapter-5

"There?" she inquired, pointing to the cafe.

"That's right there." He directed his finger to the seat where she was sitting on the money.

"Oh, you're talking about that liquid and solid piece of something." She inquired, pointing to the counters where a variety of cakes and other dishes were displayed.

"Liquid and solid, eh? That liquid and solid, yes," 'Anything you say now, I simply didn't have the strength to explain to you right now.' He closed his eyes and took another deep breath. Man, I'm hungry and tired right now.

"I gave it to them." She said this while showing him a silver coin. She held a black box containing numerous gold and silver pieces. They appear to have been extracted from the earth. It also had a lot of gems. Wait a minute, this mysterious black box! When he returned to the garden bench, he realised what he had thought was correct. She now had the box from there in her hands.

The question was, however, how? The park was a long distance away, requiring you to cross this road and then walk a long distance to get there. Then walk over to the bench, pick up the box, and return here. Even if you ran, it would take at least ten minutes.

But he had only closed his eyes for a few seconds, and he hadn't heard a sound of her moving at the time. With furrowed brows, he examined the box and then her.

"I gave the old man one of these stones, and he handed me the food and inquired as to where I lived. Then he told me about a room in which I could stay. He suggested that I live there." That makes perfect sense. So that's how she found out about the room and the ad.

"Are you able to read this?" Be said while pointing to the poster.

She shook her head and returned her gaze to him. Then she handed him the box, telling him, "Take as many as you want, I want the room and the things you call food." She said this while shoving the box into his hands.

He took a look at the box, then at the girl. Is she for real? She was giving him gold, silver, and gems worth millions just for sharing a room.

With just a few of them, he'd be able to pay all of the bills and fees, as well as buy some clothes and gifts for Sofi. His gaze wandered as he pondered the thought. But then he realised he was playing a trick on the girl. She was mentally ill and disoriented. He should not take advantage of her.

He shook his head to clear his mind and checked the time again; only 15 minutes remained in his break. "Come with me," he said, taking her hand in his and walking back to the cafe. He took out his employee card, which he would use in an emergency.

This card provided him with a 50% discount on the menu. But things were expensive here, and even with a 50% discount, he thought it was a waste of money. And these were snacks, not meals to fill his stomach.

And because he always had two hours, he could easily go out for a hearty and inexpensive meal and return on time. He frequently had some time left over to study some course material. But he squandered all of his time today, and his rumbling stomach wouldn't let him work.

So he took two pancakes, one for the girl and one for himself, and ate the other in silence. The girl blinked and looked at him, then at the plate, as she always did. But when he began to eat, she mimicked him and began to eat as well.

He had given her chocolate strawberry pancakes, and she had given him a big smile after tasting it. This was one of his areas of expertise. But no one, not even Sofi, had ever made him this happy by eating it. It was the first time he had noticed the girl's expression.

Her smile was truly mesmerizing. He was so taken aback by what he saw that he didn't even react in time.

"Lucifer, eat quickly; the break is almost over." When he entered the kitchen, his colleague reminded him. He looked at the clock, and as he had predicted, there were only five minutes left in his break. When he looked at her, he noticed she had already wiped the plate. She'd licked the chocolate spread on the plate and was now licking her fingers for the last drop of chocolate.

Normally, he would have found this customer behavior repulsive. But when he saw her licking like this, he thought she was cute. He gulped as he considered his options. Adam's apple is bobbing.

He passed his plate to her as well, and she accepted it with a smile. "It appears that only tasty food can elicit any reaction on your blank face," he said with a friendly smile.

"Now wait for me; we'll talk after work, okay?" He said this, and when she nodded, he stood up to return to the kitchen.

Cakes, brownies, pastries, pizza, and pancakes all at once. All of these things kept him busy as usual, but today he wanted to finish his shift as soon as possible due to the constant crumbling of his stomach.

Noah took a pack of chips from his bag and handed it to him, saying, "that's all I have man, eat it to stop your sound system," elbowing his stomach.

He smiled gratefully at his small gesture. He was fortunate to work with pleasant coworkers, and there were no squabbles over tips, as there were in the waitressing industry.

It was already 12 p.m. when his shift ended. He expected the girl to be gone, but when he returned, she was sitting exactly where he had left him, as if she hadn't moved an inch. Even maintaining the same posture as a statue. For the last seven hours. 'Who or what is she?'
