ALEXANDER

It's been seven hours, forty nine minutes and twenty seconds since I felt the heat of her palm against my cheek. But I still couldn't stop thinking about it.

I'd slept with a whole number of women and none of them, no matter how much they felt they had control over me, no matter how much older they were than me, none of them has dared to lay a single finger on me…but this woman did, and she would get away with it too because, I didn't know why that silly move of hers was unbelievably hot.

Like insanely hot.

Her face lined with resentment and hatred, her nose flared as she gasped for air, her eyes. Those beautiful brown eyes filled with disgust, her lashes flickered as she tried to avoid my eyes, her back pressed against the bed frame creating distance between us, everything, every detail, every contour, every freckle. I remember everything and every time I did, it made me marvel at her bravery and beauty.

I knew she wasn't ready, I knew she wasn't going to submit, especially after what happened with Rico her weak and pathetic husband.

Killing him was something I didn't regret— well I never regretted killing anyone— and if I was given the chance to do it again, I would do so…twice

After that slap and insult. I walked out of the room.

I wasn't going to force her to have sex with me, we're going to be together for a very long time, she could hate me till the sun stops burning and I wouldn't even give a fuck about it.

The door to my office opened, reminding me that I had files scattered over my desk— files which I needed to read through. I sighed. Who knew being a Don could be this boring. I looked up and met the eyes of a very familiar woman… Mother.

“ Lexy!”

She called the stupid nickname again. “ Don't call me that mother, I've told you! I hate it.” I bit out, gritting my teeth. Her smile widened.

“ You don't expect me to call you Alex do you?” She chuckled and pulled a seat in front of me and sat down.

She'd been calling me Lexy since my last fling. A stripper I'd brought home who thought we could be something more. She even got me a nickname ‘Lexy boo’ and since then, it stuck like glue and I was not pleased about it.

“ Have you gotten her?” Her tone turned serious as she looked at me. I gave her a curt nod.

“ Oh that's lovely!” She gushed. “ I can't wait to see her.”

“ I hope you didn't do anything stupid to her?” Her brows arched as she spoke, my lips lifted in a smirk.

“ But stupid what would you mean mama?”

Her eyes widened for a second and then she yelled. “ Did you fuck her?!”

I shrugged, looking back down at the document, ignoring her and I knew right now she was chewing the side of her mouth, clenching her teeth.

“ Answer me!” She snapped.

“ Maybe I did, maybe I didn't.”

Her fist tightened but then she drew in a calming breath as she closed her eyes. Slowly, she opened them and spoke. “ That poor girl!” She braced her chest. “ She'll probably be traumatised.”

I remained silent, letting her rant however she pleased.

“ You killed her husband, kidnapped her and then you f—”

“ I didn't fuck her, Okay you're happy.”

“ What made you admit it?” She was the one smirking this time.

“ Because, I didn't want you to have some crazy thoughts in your head. Now go, I'm busy.” I waved her away, fixing my eyes back on the file.

“ Is that how you treat your mother?”

“ Yes, now please leave mama.” I groaned and she chuckled and walked beside me, kissing my cheek gently. “ I'm proud of you son…always remember that.”

Her fingers lingered on my shoulders for a minute more before she turned and walked away, finally giving me some time to focus.

Focus.

Something I didn't have ever since Daphne came into my life, which was just yesterday. Such a short period of time and yet she'd taken over my senses.

My fingers tightened around the file as I reached for my cheek, rubbing it softly then I looked down and my eyes moved across the paper taking in its contents.

Our Prey.

Jacob.

The supposed leader of the Black Knights.

The cult group which had been messing with our deals and tonight, we were going to pay him a little visit and I'm sure he wouldn't mind us coming without an invitation.

And Daphne… I'll deal with her later.

CASPIAN Daphne suggested we go to a amusement park. At first I didn't understand why, I still don't but hey. Maybe she's always wanted to come here. There are guards littered around the park although Daphne couldn't see them I could, they were just a few inches away from us. Watching our every move. " Now are you going to tell me what happened?" Daphne spoke, making me peel my eyes away from the guards. " Hmm?" She scoffed. " I know something wrong happened to you, Alex noticed it too but was proud to ask." " You promised we weren't going to talk about him..." I said and she waved her hands in surrender. " Okay, Okay, fine, my lips are sealed." She gestures by zipping her lips. " No more Alex," I smiled, as we walked to one of the snack shops, I ordered some corn dogs for her and a popcorn for me. " So...Come on, tell me what happened," she pushed as we settled on a bench nearby. " You know a problem shared is half solved, I may be able to help." " I

CASPIAN She said those words and walked away, her shoulders brushing against mine softly but I could see it, from the corner of her eyes, a tear— barely there— but I could see it clearly. As she tried to walk through the gates I circled her wrist, tugging her towards me. Her amber eyes met mine and just like aways, it stole my breath. She tried to release her grasp but my hold only tightened. " Is this how you want to end things? You want to end it this way? Look me in the fucking eye and tell me that you want me to leave and I swear I will walk away and I'll never contact you again." She remained silent, but she was struggling to free herself anymore, her eyes planted to the ground. I tilted her chin, making her meet my gaze. " Say it Kira!" It wasn't an order, it was a plead, a desperate plead for her to let me stay. " Don't make me do this..." " You can't even say it Kira! You can't even say those words!" I cried but she snapped her wrist away from me. Mee

  • The Devil's Allure    77. I'm Tired Of Being Understanding.

CASPIAN My eyes felt heavy as I struggled to open them, my body felt weak as though something thick pressed against me stealing the little strength I had left. After a few minutes, I opened my eyes, the bright light from above burned into my retinas making me shut my eyes back. As though sensing my movements, a middle aged woman jumped from her seat, the worry in her eyes dissolved shifting to a comforting smile. " You're awake! How do you feel?" " I feel, fine," I released a weak groan, " who are you?" I didn't mean to be rude, I just wanted to know who she was. I was from a mafia clan, no one could be trusted. " I'm Kamala." She introduced, " I and my husband went hunting for dinner when we came across a body submerged in dirt, we immediately pulled you out and called for an ambulance," Finally, my tense muscles relaxed. " Thank you, I really appreciate it," I said as I tried to adjust on the mattress, she aided me, fluffing my pillow. " You don't have to do al

  • The Devil's Allure    76. Even In Death

ALEXANDER Daphne had just got back home and I badly wanted to meet her but right now I had something to handle. My fingers braced the table, my eyes hardened as I scoped the entirety of the room, which was filled with the court members. I remained silent, they needed it, because people broke under silence due to the fear of things I could do to them. On the left Ronwan's friend sat, his fingers twitching, sweat coating his skin. I cleared my throat, cutting through the silence. " As we're all aware our Avtoritet has been missing for the past few days and I want to make sure none of you knows about his whereabouts." They all answered no, some where steady with their words whilst a few others— four specifically— were so confident and that alone gave me the indication that I needed. " Good. Meeting dismissed," I said, my lips lifting. The tension dissolved to dust as they all scrambled out of their seats. Just as they were about to cross the door, I spoke. " Elder D

  • The Devil's Allure    75. I Think We Should Breakup

CASPIAN I'd just arrived home, from going to pick up the lady Alex asked me to get. The woman was silent throughout the drive and after what she'd been through, it was understandable. I could relate to it, much deeper than I should've. I helped her out of the car, she muttered a thank you as she tried to carry her bags but couldn't. I walked to her, taking the bag from her. " You don't have to worry about your house. I'll make sure it's well taken care of, okay?" I assured although I knew it didn't do much but it was my way of consoling her. She smiled shortly, and took the bag from me, dragging it along as she walked into the house. Eliot and Daphne was on their way, so Daphne would probably hang out with her or maybe Mum would entertain her that's if she wasn't all over Jerald all the time. I shoved my hand into my pocket and walked back into my car. My phone rang with a call. I answered it immediately, it was from Xena. " I've found some car tires along the east c

My calves ached, my heart banging against my ribs, my knees trembled as I struggled to catch up with father— who didn't seem to care if I died or lived— my throat was dry, so dry I could barely breathe but I kept running. " Where are we going?" I asked father but he didn't answer, he just kept running. I stopped, releasing a heavy breath then I continued running until we got deep into the forest. Right there, beneath a cave we found an underground warehouse or building of some sorts. I didn't know why we were here or why father saved me but I knew it had to be related to Daphne or Alex, father was so obsessed with them— too much for his own good. As we reached the middle of the warehouse, father stopped, going to his knees, his head crashed against the floor. When I didn't do the same, he kicked my ankle, making my knee crash agains
