Tommaso raised an eyebrow slightly “but you see strangely enough…”

A faint smile crossed Mr Giovanni’s face as he remembers the change on his son's face whenever he sees Azzura “he remembers your daughter”

Tommaso blinked slowly.

“Azzura?”

“Yes Tom” Mr Giovanni replied as he turned fully towards Mr Tommaso again.

“The boy saw her years ago during the Verona gathering, do you remember?” Mr Giovanni asked as Mr Tommaso suddenly remembered the event clearly “ohh yes I do”

“Azzura had been very much younger then I think 10 or 11 years old then…she was still the stubborn and playful child as usual” Mr Tommaso said with a smile on his face.

“Yes you are right Tom, during the event she had accidentally spilled wine on Francesco’s black suit that evening and everyone had expected him to explode in anger at her…but surprisingly Francesco merely stared at her silently while she argued fearlessly with him hahahaha” Mr Giovanni said as both he and Mr Tommaso laughed as they remembered the matter.

“And after that for the rest of the evening his eyes kept following her across the ballroom” Mr Giovanni said once more after holding himself for a while from laughing too much.

Mr Tommaso had never thought deeply about the matter but now that his friend spoke about it, the memory felt different.

“He spoke about her afterward” Giovanni admitted calmly “even though he didn't show it or speaking about the matter steadily but I know my son”

Mr Tommaso looked genuinely surprised now “that boy barely speaks at all you know right?”

“Exactly and it is the more reason I myself was surprised” Mr Giovanni said as a brief silence followed immediately

Then Giovanni smiled darkly “and from what I know, when Francesco speaks about someone… he never forgets them, never”

The statement carried strange intensity beneath it causing Mr Tommaso to clear his throat lightly before forcing a smile.

“Well children can be unpredictable after all, what do you think ?” Mr Tommaso said as Mr Giovanni nodded.

“Yes you are right old friend” but inwardly he already knew this marriage was beyond simple interest for Francesco.

His son had chosen Azzura long ago, long before anyone realized it and once an Ndrangheta man desired something deeply he never let it go….never.

“It’s alright I will keep my family informed about this and I should inform you on the update on how it goes my good friend, and yes thank you for the hospitality I am really grateful to you old friend” Mr Tommaso said.

Mr Giovanni smiled before extending his hand firmly toward him “the pleasure is mine Tom”

The two men shook hands slowly “I should get going now” Mr Tommaso said after merrying with Mr Giovanni for a while.

He grabbed his coat in preparation to leave immediately as Mr Giovanni walked his friend out personally toward the massive doors of the mansion.

Outside the rain had finally stopped and the cold night breeze swept through the estate while luxury black vehicles waited patiently before the grand staircase.

“Alright old friend will be expecting your feedback, your feet and fleet are ever welcome in the Ndrangheta clan always and forever” Mr Giovanni said as he crossed his right hand over his chest.

“Thank you my friend” Mr Tommaso said as he enters his vehicle and took his leave out of the estate.

THE PRESENT

“True words you said there my lovely wife and truth be told I do remember that special moment I had to go through hell just to prove loyalty to an old time friend who is now the Lord of the Ndranghetas, ohh what a time to relish on the past” Mr. Tommaso said drifting back to reality as he finished reminiscing on his time with Mr Giovanni, he held Mrs. Gaia in his embrace.

The room remained quiet except for the faint crackling sound coming from the fireplace by the far end of the room. Outside, the rain had finally reduced into soft droplets sliding slowly against the tall glass windows of the Sil mansion.

Mr Tommaso’s face softened slightly as he looked down at Mrs Gaia “I am so grateful to have you as my wife” he said to himself.

For years Mrs Gaia had remained his peace and the one person capable of calming the storm hidden inside him.

“I am glad that you, my husband the strong lion who has conquered so many trials now have a clear sight on what I am hinting at exactly” Mrs. Gaia said with a sly smile on her lips.

“So what then do you think should be done now my love…. will you let your only daughter go or you send out the invite for the Ndranghetas to come pay you a nice visit?” Mrs. Gaia said after a long pause.

Mr Tommaso exhaled heavily “the truth was painful, that no matter how powerful he had become over the years there were still people above him and the Ndranghetas stood at the very top.

Within seconds they had secured his arms firmly against his body before wrapping the chains around his shoulders, chest, waist, and legs. Layer after layer of cold steel tightened around him until almost no movement remained possible. The chains continued downward, binding him securely from his shoulders all the way to his feet. Every lock clicked firmly into place. Diego inspected the restraints himself before giving a single nod. "Take him." The men lifted Igor together and carried him out of the interrogation room. Only the fading sound of dragging chains echoed through the corridor. Several minutes later they reached the lower bow of the ship, where powerful waves repeatedly crashed against the hull. The wind howled across the open sea, carrying the sharp scent of salt through the air. Working efficiently, the men fastened the chains securely to reinforced anchor points before positioning Igor upside down. His head hung low toward the churning water while his feet pointed

"You see, Igor... at first I believed we could simply have a conversation. A proper tête-à-tête. Two civilized men sitting together, speaking like mature adults."He sighed dramatically."But then I realized something unfortunate."His smile slowly returned."You seem to possess the brain of a coconut."Several men behind him lowered their heads to hide nervous smiles."So," Francesco continued, gently tapping the side of Igor's head with one finger, "I reached the conclusion that perhaps the best solution is to crack that coconut open... remove all the water inside... and finally discover whether there is actually a brain hiding in there."He tilted his head thoughtfully."What do you think?"Without waiting for an answer, Francesco placed one hand firmly beneath Igor's jaw and began turning his head from side to side as though inspecting livestock."Should I start on the left side?" he asked. He turned Igor's face."Or perhaps the right?"Another slow turn."I wonder... from which s

It represented a ritual of absolute resolve. A warning that mercy had been set aside. Even the bravest among them hoped never to witness it from the wrong side. "On it, sir." The soldiers hurried to obey. Within minutes, flames rose steadily from the prepared brazier, casting flickering orange light across the deck. The heat pushed back the cool sea breeze, and shadows danced across every face present. Francesco remained motionless, waiting. Only when everything was ready did he speak again. "Bring him forward." Diego acknowledged the order immediately. Together with two other men, he guided Igor into a heavy wooden chair positioned near the center of the deck. Thick restraints secured his wrists, his arms, and his legs firmly in place until every attempt to move became futile. Igor tested the bindings once. Then stopped. He knew they would hold. He lifted his chin instead. "And what exactly do you intend to accomplish?" he asked. "Whatever happens here today, you will

"Oh... wonderful.""They are here already."His voice carried genuine satisfaction. He walked slowly toward the trolley, examining every instrument with deliberate care, almost like an artist appreciating the brushes needed to complete a masterpiece.Without looking behind him, he suddenly spoke."Sergie."The frightened prisoner immediately lifted his head."You may stand."A look of complete disbelief spread across Sergie's face. For several seconds he remained frozen, wondering whether he had imagined hearing his own name.Francesco had addressed him directly. Not with anger. Not with mockery.Simply...By his name."Sir..."His voice trembled."You mean... I should stand up?"Francesco finally glanced toward him."Yes."His answer was immediate."Stand up and move to the side."A brief pause followed. Then the faintest smile returned."Well... unless you would prefer that blood helps you stand instead."The meaning behind those words required no explanation.Sergie's heart nearly

Sergie walked with noticeably trembling legs, the moment both men stood before Francesco..their remaining courage completely abandoned them. Without receiving any instruction both prisoners immediately fell to their knees as the wooden deck groaned beneath the impact. Their heads lowered instinctively, no one forced them rather fear did. Francesco remained seated for another brief moment upon the simple beach stool placed near the center of the deck. Then slowly he stood. The movement itself appeared harmless and yet something changed, the atmosphere shifted so dramatically that even seasoned soldiers instinctively stiffened. His aura transformed into something almost suffocating, there was no shouting nor threats, and not even the display of violence and still, pure terror quietly crawled into the souls of every man standing before him. The ocean breeze continued blowing but somehow the air felt heavier and a Harder to breathe. Francesco clasped both hands behind his back an

Big Stone saluted sharply before turning toward the exit, as the heavy bridge doors slid open, the sounds of boots moving rapidly through the steel corridors echoed across the ship.Throughout the fleet, final preparations accelerated as weapons were checked, equipment was secured and every coommunication lines were tested once more.Outside, the distance between both fleets continued shrinking with every passing minute as the sea grew rougher.Dark clouds gathered overhead as neither side had fired the opening decisive strike and yet every sailor aboard both fleets understood the same undeniable truth, that the calm that remained upon the ocean would not last much longer.“Alright, sir… on it this moment.”Big Stone did not wait for another word. The instant the command left his superior's lips, he sprang into motion, his heavy boots thundering across the wooden deck as though the ship itself could not withstand the urgency of his pace. Every second wasted was another second the heir
