Ten o'clock at night.

Damian opened the bedroom door with a tray in his hand. On it was a bowl of warm soup and a glass of orange juice. His steps were slow. As he approached Yara, she immediately fixed him with a sharp, hateful stare.

"Eat," Damian said simply as he placed the tray on the small table beside the bed.

Yara didn't answer; she just looked away. Her hands were still bound in chains, leaving her little choice, but she wasn't about to show weakness in front of the man.

"Yara, I don't want to argue. Eat now," Damian said more firmly, picking up a bowl of soup and holding a spoon. He sat on the edge of the bed, trying to feed Yara.

"Don't touch me," Yara refused.

"Don't be stubborn. You need to eat," Damian retorted, bringing the spoon to Yara's mouth.

Yara turned her face away violently. "I'd rather starve to death than accept anything from you."

Damian's thin patience was running out. His jaw hardened. "I've tried to be nice, Yara. Don't force me to use other means."

Yara laughed bitterly, giving Damian a hateful look. "Been nice? You think that after everything you've done, you can be called nice? You're a monster, Damian. You'll never be a prince."

Damian sighed heavily, gripping the spoon tighter. "I don't care what you think. I just want to make sure you don't hurt yourself. Eat now."

"If I die, it's not your fault, right? Wouldn't that be easier for you?" Yara challenged him, her gaze fiery despite her weak body.

Damian was losing patience. With a quick movement, he grabbed Yara's chin, forcing her to open her mouth. "Don't make me angry, Yara," he said in a cold tone.

"Don't touch me, Damian!" Yara struggled, pushing his hand away with all her might. "I don't need your sympathy! I don't need anything from you!"

"Stay alive for what? To be tortured by you? To be treated like an animal? If that's living, I'd rather die!" Yara cried out, her tears starting to flow without her being able to hold them back.

Damian was silent for a moment, looking at Yara with a complicated mix of emotions. He didn't know how to answer her. His heart was heavy, but his ego was too big to admit it.

"You don't understand," Damian muttered finally.

"What am I supposed to understand? That you only see me as a toy? That you feel entitled to my life? I don't care what your reasons are, Damian. I will never forgive you!"

The words were like a knife stabbing Damian, but he hid his feelings behind a cold expression. Roughly, he put the soup bowl back on the table. "If you don't want to eat, fine. But don't blame me if your body weakens."

Yara did not reply. She just stared at Damian with a hateful gaze. She wanted to scream, wanted to fight, but her body was too tired.

Damian got up from the bed, walking towards the door. Before going out, he turned around and said, "I'll be back later. If you change your mind, eat."

After Damian left, Yara stared at the soup left on the table. Her stomach was hungry, but the anger and resentment that filled her mind made her refuse to touch it. She felt this was the only way to fight back—not to submit to Damian's wishes, no matter how difficult it was.

Outside the room, Damian leaned against the wall. His breathing was heavy, and his mind was in turmoil. Yara's words kept ringing in his head. "She's really hard to persuade," he muttered under his breath. "How do I get that annoying girl to submit to me?"

Hugo, who happened to be passing by, stopped and looked at Damian curiously. "Mr. Damian, is there a problem?"

Damian shook his head, but his face showed confusion. "Yara is stubborn. She's hard to persuade."

Hugo nodded slowly. "Perhaps because she feels she has no control over her life, sir. If you keep pushing her, she'll only resent you more."

Damian massaged his temples, feeling frustrated. "I don't know what to do. She's stressing me out, Hugo. I just want her to obey."

"Maybe it's the way she is, sir. You can't force someone to understand your wishes. Your actions so far have only made things worse."

Damian gave Hugo a sharp look, but he knew his assistant's words were true. "I don't know how," he muttered under his breath.

Hugo smiled slightly. "Perhaps the first step is to stop forcing her. Give him the freedom to choose without running away from the contract."

Damian didn't answer; he just stared at the door to Yara's room with a doubtful look. Would Hugo's method work?

The sound of the ventilator machine buzzed softly in the ICU room. White lights shone on Damian's pale face. Yara sat beside the bed, holding Damian's cold hand."Damian... Hugo entered, carrying a cup of coffee."Miss Yara, you need to rest," Hugo said, placing the coffee on the side table."I can't leave her, Hugo. I'm afraid... afraid that she..." Damian got out of the car with quick and steady steps. The night breeze blew through his sweat-soaked black suit. His eyes swept over the rickety building in front of him - old, rusted, almost like a worn-out warehouse that was no longer in use. But inside, Yara... "Set up positions, do not enter until I give the signal," he told his men. "Yes, Mr. Damian," replied one of the gunmen behind him. Damian clenched his fists. His head was still throbbing from lack of sleep, but that didn't deter his anger. He took a deep breath, then kicked the warehouse door hard. "RICARDO!!!" his voice echoed loudly, full of exploding anger. Inside, Ricardo had just grabbed the chin of Yara who was tied to a metal chair. The man's face instantly changed when he saw Damian standing in the doorway. "Ah, the savior has finally arrived," Ricardo chuckled. "You're late, Damian. He almost had me-" Bugh! Damian delivered a hard punch to Ricardo's jaw, sending him crashing into the wall. Without g

A few days later, liquor bottles littered the floor. The room was a mess, full of documents that Damian had thrown around. Cigarette smoke still billowed in the air, signaling how chaotic his mind was at the moment. Damian sat in a chair with his head bowed, his fingers clutching a glass that was almost empty. His eyes were red, his face crumpled. A few days of no sleep and a lot of alcohol made him look like a man on the verge of losing his mind. The door opened. Hugo entered with a serious expression, but upon seeing Damian's state, he could only let out a long sigh. "Sir, you need to stop like this," Hugo said, taking the bottle from Damian's hand. Damian raised his head slowly, staring at Hugo with a sharp gaze. "You think I can relax, huh? Yara's still out there, probably being tortured, probably..." Damian stopped, his jaw hardening. He couldn't imagine the worst-case scenario. Hugo tried to remain calm. "We're still looking, sir. Ricardo is too cunning. He doesn't use

Damian stood by his mother's bedside, his eyes still fixed on her pale face. However, his reverie was broken when his cell phone vibrated in his coat pocket. With a quick movement, he pulled out the phone and looked at the name on the screen. One of the servants at the mansion. "What is it?" Damian's voice was cold, slightly impatient. "Sir, it's an emergency," the servant's voice sounded panicked. "Miss Yara... she's not at the mansion. We've searched the entire area, but-" Damian immediately gripped his cell phone tightly. "What do you mean no one?" "We believed she was still in her room since morning. But when we checked again, it was empty. It looks like she ran away, sir." Damian's breathing became heavy. His jaw hardened. "Asshole. That little girl is really looking for trouble."Without another word, Damian immediately switched off the call. His hands clenched into fists, his temper peaking. "Hugo," his voice was sharp and deadly. Hugo, who was standing in the

Yara only realized something was wrong when her breathing became heavy. Her vision began to blur, her head felt unusually dizzy. She tried to move her legs, but her body relaxed instantly. She raised her hand to her neck, feeling something strange. "You... What are you doing...?" her voice was soft. The man smiled wryly, his eyes flashing triumphantly. "I'm just helping you rest for a bit, Miss Yara." Yara tried to back away, but her body was losing strength. The world around her began to spin. The man was still looking at her with a triumphant gaze. "Damn..." That was the last word that escaped her lips before everything turned dark. ***When Yara came to, her head felt heavy, her eyes hard to open. Slowly, she tried to move her body, but something held her back. Both her hands were tied behind the chair, as well as her legs. She gasped, immediately opening her eyes. The room was dark, lit only by a dim lamp in the corner. The smell of dust and iron filled her nose. Her

Yara was now walking carefully through the city streets. She managed to get out of the mansion without being spotted. Yara still wanted to find information about Felix Lucano. Although the man was like a shadow-not easy to find, as if the man had deliberately eliminated his traces. Yara sat on a park bench after almost two hours of searching for information. Her hands were busy on her phone, typing Felix Lucano's name into a search engine, but nothing came up. All that came up was old information about his company, Lucano Group, with no news of his current whereabouts. "Where should I look for you, Felix," she muttered in frustration. Yara bit her lip, resisting the urge to give up. After all, this was about the past of the man she said was her biological father. Yara closed her eyes for a moment, recalling how her mother had always avoided talking about Felix. If only her mother wasn't sick anymore, maybe Yara could have urged her mother to tell her about Felix Lucano. Someon
