I used my fingers to detangle my messed up hair while staring at my reflection through the water in the bowl Falco brought me a while ago.

I bite down on my lower lip suppressing the sob that threatened to fall out.

My hair was barely shoulder length and cut irregularly. I've never felt this much rage in my entire life.

That painful urge to pick up a fork and stab it through that bitche's eye was eating at me.

Yes, I was helpless but I knew I would get rescued and these fuckers would pay.

I'll personally shave every single hair off her scalp with my bare hands.

I wasn't too surprised when she walked in yesterday, at first she had a mask on her face but her swollen tummy gave her away.

That look in her eyes was like she had already won. I didn't do anything stupid and just remained quiet till I was taken back to the basement.

Now here I was preparing for the night.

Falco came in placing the bowl of rice on the floor. It's the same old rice and eggs but thankfully no apple today, Just two bananas.

" Take this, eat it fast." Falco tossed over something in a black nylon.

I opened it to find bread and cheese. I looked up to meet his gaze." Thank you."

A change of food for once; I was deeply grateful." You are a good man." I whispered, keeping my voice low.

He didn't respond and just went on his daily duty of scrutinizing me and searching to see if I had hidden objects.

I put down the bread, carefully choosing my words." Help me, please." I spoke, my voice laced with worry and agony.

" I'll be due soon, I can't give birth here. Please I'm begging you." I watched as his body tensed, his eyes filled with emotion.

If I can get him to help me out then I might have a chance at getting out of here even if I have to lie.

" Behave and you'll be fine." He spoke coldly, standing on his feet.

I grabbed onto his shirt." Please, this is my first time giving birth, it has to be in a hospital. Please I'm begging you, you are the only hope I have left."

I waited for him to speak but he just stood there. His eyes stared into the distance.

He suddenly turned and crouched down to my level." Let's say I help you and then you get caught again, what would happen then, huh?"

I swallowed." I won't get caught because you know this place better than I do. You can get me out."

He only shook his head." You'll only get yourself in trouble."

I held on to the hem of his shirt." Then just let me make one phone call, please. I swear on my parents grave that if I get rescued, you won't be implicated."

His eyes narrowed." You want me to betray my colleagues and my boss. Do you take me for a fool?"

I took a breath, if I don't find a way to convince this man then I'm doomed." I see you as a man who would make the right call. You are not like them and you know it. You have a good heart. You don't have to do this kind of job to provide for your family. I run a jewellery shop and I still have vacancies. All I ask is that you let me make just one call."

I watched his pupils dilate. His eyes were calculating. My eyes lit up with hope for once.

" I can't help you escape, neither can I let you make a phone call." He said.

My shoulders slumped in disappointment. I guess I'll just have to wait till I get rescued.

" But I can help you send a message."He suddenly replied and my eyes lit up again.

" Yes. That'll do. Please." I whimpered, my tears becoming teary.

" Blox hasn't sent the video to your husband yet. When he does I'll see what I can do." He continued.

" Thank you so much." Tears rolled down my cheeks, I was finally going to leave this place." Thank you."

" I'm not sending a direct message. If your husband isn't smart enough to understand coding then you are on your own." He phrased and then stomped out of the room.

I'm not a church goer but for the first time I prayed not for myself but for my baby and then I went to bed.

Blox woke me up with the loud banging on the door. I was put in ropes again and carried to the living room.

He pushed me to the center of the living room and I collapsed on my knees before her.

  It took her long enough, that I was beginning to think she didn't have the guts to face me.

" Hello, Lillian." She grinned." Your new look suits you."

I clenched my fists, anger surging through my veins." I can't say I didn't expect you to be behind this."

She giggled, her high-pitched voice echoing through the walls." I know right, I told you I'll make you pay tenfold didn't I?"

I rolled my eyes." Have it at the back of your mind that once Zayden comes for me, you're done for."

She threw her head back laughing hysterically." Oh, dear. You think he's going to find you? I don't plan on letting you go...alive."

Her eyes were drained of all colour. Her skin was pale and her lips were dried. She didn't look like the Sage that appeared so classy on television.

She licked her lips violently, her brows twitching." Where is it?" She yelled and Blox disappeared the next second, returning with a bottle in one hand and a tiny tray in the other.

She grabbed it from him, her hands trembling.

I nearly chortled, so she did drugs. That was so unexpected from a diva like her.

She poured the powder on the tray and sniffed it, her eyes rolling back.

She remained still for a few seconds and then waved a hand.

Blox rushed over and took the tray.

"You shouldn't be taking drugs. It's bad for the baby." I added, breaking the silence.

Her eyes were back to normal and she sat upright." Oh, this baby?" She chuckled pointing at her swollen tummy.

" Do you want to hear a secret? I can let you in on some since you'll never see the sunlight again."

I maintain a straight face even as my fingers tremble." I'd appreciate that."

She got to her feet and began circling me." Let's see, where do I start?"

I nearly rolled my eyes.

She shrieked." Oh, I know. I'll start from how I fucked your husband."

My jaw ticked. I closed my eyes, taking breaths to calm myself.

"He's really good in bed, you can testify to that. It took a while but even he couldn't fight four shots of the aphrodisiac." She crouched to my level." and I made sure that I was ovulating, not a single drop of his semen wasted." She licked her lips and it disgusted me.

I couldn't hold it in any longer so I spat on her face. She stiffened, then slowly wiped the spit off her face.

" You want a naked truth? I'll tell you a naked truth. Yes, I'm pregnant but I don't plan on keeping the baby." She whispered in my ears.

" I can't afford to destroy my body. It was all a ruse to tie Zayden to me but he's too stubborn. To think that I had to go through the trouble of fucking his brother so I could get pregnant, and then he still wouldn't give the fuck up and let us be together." She snarled, tightening her fists.

I furrowed my brows, her words registering in my head."What did you just say?"

She grinned." I said what I said, bitch."

I stared up at her, my eyes as wide as saucers. I swallowed the lump in my throat, my chest heaving up and down.

" I divorced him because of you!" I yelled, struggling to my feet but I was pushed back down by Blox.

" I know right! But it's of no use because he still ditched our wedding. He humiliated me so I'll make him pay. If I can't have him, then he'll have no one else." She yelled back, her eyes spitting fire.

Tears threatened to fall but I pushed them back into my eyelids." You're crazy, you know that right? You're insane." I spat back.

She pulled me by my hair, and I let out a scream.

"Yes, I am. I'm insane. And you will soon witness my wrath."

The first tear escaped my eyelids."Does Aiden know what you did?"

She scoffed." Of course, he does. It was his idea that he should knock me up after I took the pregnancy test and it turned out negative."

She suddenly sighed." I guess Zayden's sperm didn't get to my eggs before they died. I wouldn't have gone through the trouble of messing with the DNA test results."

I opened my mouth but I could not form words. This woman before me was worse than the devil. She looked so innocent and pure that I would have guessed she wasn't capable of such things.

I should have known how desperate she was and Aiden?

I felt betrayed, how could he do this to me. His visit to my jewellery shop suddenly made sense.

He didn't know where I lived but he knew where my shop was. He must have followed me when I closed from work to find out where I lived.

"And you think killing me would make you feel any better?"

She nodded gracefully." Yes, it would. I'll send Zayden your unborn child as a gift and then I'll make sure you suffer before I give you what you deserve."

" Are you even human? You won't get away with this. Zayden won't let you off so easily, you haven't seen his other side yet."

She burst out laughing." oh, you haven't heard darling?" She lifted a brow, amusement in her face.

I stared at her in bewilderment, my heart squeezing violently in my chest.

"Your dear husband is already behind bars, paying for his crimes." She phrased.

I didn't blink, disbelief clouding my vision." No, you are lying."

She snapped her fingers." Bloxxy, show her the newspaper."

A newspaper was tossed on the floor where I could see them. My eyes read through the lines in haste and the first tear rolled down my cheeks, dropping on the paper.

" See? No one is coming to help you. You're better off dead. Zayden would be facing court in a few weeks and there's no doubt he'll spend the rest of his life in prison. We gave him a chance, but he chose you over me so he had to go to jail."

He chose me.

The words kept ringing in my head like an alarm. He chose me over Sage and now he's facing the consequences.

I could not utter a word, the revelation so shocking that he weighed me down like an anvil.

"Take her to the basement, tomorrow I'll start by ruining that perfect face," Sage ordered.

Blox picked me up and all I could do was trash and scream at her. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Falco watching, he was my only hope now.

I was tossed into the basement like a sack of potatoes. I put my back up against the wall, crouching and bringing my knees to my chest.

  The tears flowed freely. Maybe if I hadn't rushed and signed the divorce papers, we would have sought this out ourselves.

Her words kept ringing in my ears. Zayden has been arrested. If he was already in jail then who was going to get me out of here?

  I promised to be there for him when things turned out this way. I promised to be by his side if ever his dad put him behind bars.

   I was supposed to be his only witness in the murder case but here I was.

I buried my face in my palms. How was I supposed to get out of this place? I kept wondering why they hadn't found me yet. I know Zayden would do anything for me and our baby. I have been praying and hoping every day that he would burst in here to rescue me not knowing he was already behind bars.

I don't want to die here.

I can't die here.
