Kya POV

"What? You didn’t mention before that you’re planning to sever a mate bond with an Alpha!" The petite witch with chestnut-brown hair said, widening her eyes in astonishment.

"Yes," I said firmly. "Precisely because he’s an Alpha, I had no choice but to come to you. I know you can do it."

"Then the price won’t be the same," the witch said, pointing to the ring on my finger. "Add this to the deal."

I glanced at the wedding ring on my right hand. I hadn’t taken it off since the day we got married.

“Fine, Deal!!”Without hesitation, I removed it and placed it on the table.

"Good. I enjoy doing business with decisive people like you. Did you bring his blood?" The witch observed the ring with a sly smile and slid it into her pocket.

I took a small glass vial from my pocket and handed it to her.

“Here it is. Alpha Owen’s blood!”

She drew out a dagger and cut a line across my right palm. The sharp pain made me tremble slightly.

One drop, two drops, three drops... She let my blood pour into the same vial, mixing it with Owen’s.

"Ten days from now, during the Moon Goddess Festival, when the mate bond is at its strongest, I’ll cast the spell. But this forced severing will be very painful. You need to be prepared." Her big eyes peered into mine.

"Once it’s broken, there will be no connection between you two. Ever. Are you sure?"

"I’m sure. Thank you." I bowed slightly and walked out to feel the fresh breeze fanning my face.

I looked up at the crescent moon shining in the sky. In ten days, it would become a full moon.

And I would finally get what I wanted— entirely off Owen’s world.

But why am I not feeling that happiness?

***

When I returned to the Starry Pack, my mate, Alpha Owen, was busy organizing this year’s Moon Goddess Festival.

For werewolves, this festival is like Valentine’s Day. During this time, mate bonds are at their peak, and the air is always thick with the scent of passion.

Owen and I first met three years ago at the Moon Goddess Festival.

Back then, I was wandering like a rogue.

Don’t get me wrong—I wasn’t indeed a rogue. I had my own pack, though I could hardly call it my home.

When I was five, my father had an affair, and he rejected my mother.

By the time I was ten, she passed away. Left with no choice, I moved in with my father and stepmother, only to find they had no place for me in their house or their heart.

So, at seventeen, I ran away and started fresh.

When I met Owen, I thought I had finally found a home. But once again, I was wrong.

“This year’s Moon Goddess Festival will be the grandest in the last decade!” Owen announced from the stage in the pack square. He was as tall and striking as he had been when I first met him.

“What surprise have you prepared for Luna Kya this time?” A journalist asked.

“A cruise ship named after her! Kya loves the sea,” Owen replied, never hesitating to showcase his affection for me publicly.

“OMG…That’s even more extravagant than the last gift!” A young woman beside me gasped, covering her mouth.

“I heard Alpha Owen proposes to Luna Kya every time they travel to a new destination. In three years, he’s already proposed her seven times!”

“Alpha Owen is truly the best mate in the world! I hope I can meet someone like him at this year’s Moon Goddess Festival!”A girl who looked no older than eighteen said, her eyes filled with admiration as she gazed at Owen.

I pulled my hat lower, quietly listening to their conversation.

The seven proposals were true. Each time Owen presented a gift, he recited the same vow.

“I, Alpha Owen of the Starry Pack, will protect Kya for all my life, remain loyal to her, love her, and respect her.”

Every time he said these words, I used to cry and throw myself into his arms.

But those vows—once sacred—were shattered by his own hands by cheating on me. These gifts and affection are all just a show.

I watched my husband with hurt and let out a bitter smile.

You have broken my trust, and I can’t forgive you.

  • The Disappeared Luna   Chapter 22

Owen POVI followed the address provided by the hacker and drove to the small town in the desert.Along the way, I couldn’t stop wondering. Kya had once told me that she loved islands and diving, so why would she move to this desolate, endless desert? The wind whipped the yellow sand against the car windows, and the confusion and self-blame in my heart mixed into a storm.I didn’t dare stop for a moment during the drive. The car bounced along the uneven road, and by midnight, I finally found her place—a shabby mud-brick house. Seeing this scene broke my heart. She had once been so radiant, but now, she was living in such hardship. I could hardly bear it because all of this was my fault.I begged Kya to come back with me. She refused, which I had expected.I had hurt her so deeply; what right did I have to ask for her forgiveness? But I believed that one day, she would see my sincerity.I am no longer an Alpha. I decided to leave my past behind and quietly protect her in this small tow

Kya POV“Who is it?” I prepared myself for a shift and a fight.“Kya...”A familiar, hoarse voice came from outside the door.It was Owen! I was shocked that he had found me here! After hesitating for a moment, I opened the door.Under the dim light, he looked completely different—haggard, thin, even slightly hunched over, as if he had shrunk a few inches in height.“Kya, I can’t believe it’s really you.” He tried to reach out to me, but I instinctively took two steps back. This seemed to hurt him, and tears welled up in his eyes.“I’ve been looking for you so hard. I even went to the town where you spent your childhood and saw the lily of the valley flowers. You’ve been there, right?” His voice was choked.“What do you want from me?” I asked coldly. “We’ve already broken the mate bond.”“Are you still angry with me?” he said softly. “I know, I was wrong. I’ve sent Lina away, I swear, I will never do anything to hurt you again!”“Swear? Haven’t you made vows to me before?” I said sarca

Kya POVMy wolf didn’t like the new place. She’s used to forests, meadows, lakes, and oceans. But the place I was living, there were almost no werewolves, only a few human nomads. It took me three days to renovate a house made of mud bricks. My home was about a 30-minute walk from the nearest town. Without a car, I had no choice but to walk when I need basic supplies. The endless yellow sand, the vast, boundless sky—underneath, it was just me and my shadow moving across the dunes. The solitude was overwhelming.Living in the desert wasn’t easy.I managed to find a job teaching English at the local elementary school. The children were curious about me, a foreigner with an accent and unfamiliar clothing.“Teacher, why did you come here?” a boy asked during recess.I smiled and replied, “To learn something new.”In a way, that was true.In my spare time, I immersed myself in the local culture. I started learning their language and experimenting with local dishes in my makeshift kitchen.

Owen POVI hurriedly grabbed my phone. My interview video was making the rounds on all major news channels, and its view count was skyrocketing.Scathing remarks filled the comment section. "Oh, so now that everyone knows, you’ve come out to apologize? Would you have done it if no one found out?""Wow, a five-minute apology letter. That’s definitely going to heal Kya’s wounds!""I was drunk, and she seduced me. Bro, we’ve heard that excuse way too many times.""This apology feels more like it’s for yourself, not for Kya.""He just wants to recover the company’s losses—it’s all business."......“No, I sincerely wanted to apologize…” I stared at the screen, weakly trying to defend myself. The interview made me a complete joke. Time crawled by, day after day, in search of Kya, but all in vain. Kya still seemed to have vanished without a trace, as if she had evaporated into thin air.Deep down, I consoled myself, thinking the internet’s memory was fleeting—this storm would eventually

Owen POV"You dick head, get up!" A loud and crocky voice snapped me off the sleep. “Huh?! I sat up, startled only to see my parents standing by my bed. "Father, Mother, why are you here?"My head was throbbing painfully. I couldn’t remember how I got back last night—only a vague memory that Kya had come to see me. They must have got the news that Kya left! After I inherited the Alpha position, my father handed the Starry Pack to me and his company to manage. He and my mother had moved to the countryside to live a peaceful life."You haven’t even looked at the TV, have you? That Lina has been exposing your affair with her on every channel! How could you get involved with a woman like that?" My father roared. I turned on the TV, flipping through a few channels, and saw Lina on a program called Tom Show, dramatically sharing details of our so-called affair. She wore a simple sports outfit andlooked innocent. At one point, she even choked up as if overwhelmed with emotion."I already b

Owen POV"There's a charity auction tonight, and one of the highlight items looks very much like Luna Kya's ring."Ash sent me a promotional photo of the event, and my heart clenched. It was the wedding ring I had designed—eight small diamonds encircling a square sapphire, every detail infused with my deep love for Kya."It can't be mistaken," I murmured, the image of Kya wearing that ring on our wedding day flashing through my mind.I rushed to the auction venue without fixing my disheveled hair or wrinkled shirt.I paid twice the offered price to win the ring back and went straight to the auction organizer, demanding, "Where did this ring come from?""The seller didn’t want to reveal their identity," the organizer hesitated."Speak up!" I growled, shifting into my wolf form and pinning him to the ground. My patience was gone."Lisa—it was a witch named Lisa," he stammered.“Lisa?!” A name I didn’t recognize.Following his lead, I found Lisa's address. When I pushed open the dark red
