Kathryn's Pov

A weird wave of warmth and envy spread over my heart watching the lovely couple smiling towards each other, I didn't want to be jealous, I never was a type to get jealous easily yet this very moment the beautiful bond my new friend and her husband shared mocked me openly even though the poor duo didn't even have the slightest idea of what I had been through for the past two years.

Cyril Sokolov, the notorious mob boss ruling over Russia and a very rare man who shared a good bond with my husband, Karl and Cyril had a long history of being business partners and good friends after he brought Italian alliance in Germany as well boosting Karl's business and name even more. Karl had connections with underground and I knew it really well, I didn't really care about such details as my foster father had worked in such businesses too.

There wasn't a much difference between them when it came to business and success yet they were completely poles apart if compared their personal lives. Cyril was extremely obsessed with his wife, Liliana, such a beautiful name for a gorgeous and smart woman. I envy her the most if to be straight forward with my views, she had turned really famous with her exceptional arts and the fact that she never took help from her powerful and influential husband and family to promote her work or arrange exhibition for her instead she always went to the production art houses who always sponsored her.

While I on the other hand was forced to leave everything I ever loved, in my childhood I was extremely attracted to music, my voice was used by my teachers many times to conduct school events. I learned violin, piano and guitar in my early days, I mastered in violin and piano while I freshly started understanding the art of guitar when I turned 18. That damned age, it was the age of restriction, confinement and sacrifice for a royal lady like me.

I was forced to withdraw from doing anything which didn't comply with the definition of being a dutiful wife, there were only three things in my world I needed to be a master of, cooking, always dress up like a lady, to serve and satisfy my husband that was it. I had watched my father breaking my newly bought guitar and years old violin right in front of my eyes to punish me for trying to play them even after they restricted me.

That day he didn't only broke those instruments but he shattered my dreams and crushed my dignity, still i never complained. I had always been a fast learner. I mastered cooking and everyone who tried my cooked food praised me for my brilliant talent except for my parents of course. I was just never good enough for them, no matter if I dressed up like a lady always being praised by everyone for my dressing sense or giving up on my everything just to be a good wife to my husband who never seemed to acknowledge my efforts and sacrifices.

Liliana was a sweet woman, she talked to me and even forced herself in my contacts asking me if I ever needed her help she was just a call away even though we both knew it was a pure bluff. She will be gone to Russia in a few days and I would be stuck in my old life in Germany. My face grimaced at the thought of walking back in the mansion and facing those two evil mosquitos ready to suck my blood anytime.

Karl came and stayed here just a few minutes before his urgent work again rang and he met Cyril before kissing my forehead and preparing to leave. I knew better than to be flattered at his gestures, it was just a show for the people there, he didn't want to come out as a neglecting cruel husband he had been to me in the shadows. Watching my lack of reaction to his actions, he frowned deeply for a few seconds before heaving out a heavy sigh. After all I always blushed and leaned to him for more gestures of affection for me which I pathetically tried to drain from him to sate my desperate heart.

"I know you're still mad about Anya, she is planning to study in Germany and as soon as I will find a good apartment for her, they will leave." He didn't even care to mention the friend his lovely cousin had brought with her who had been giving me looks like she couldn't wait to walk over my dead body.

"I already told you, I am extremely uncomfortable and feel unsecured with Every, I don't feel safe around her." Finally after I mentioned her, his eyes flickered in realization.

"Right, Anya's friend, she only came here to accompany Anya, don't worry she will be gone when I will find an apartment for them." As expected he discarded my concerns and forced his orders over me making me sigh out as I due to a new habit cradled my stomach in a protective manner turning my face away from him looking at the laughing couple dancing and having a healthy conversation making my heart ache at the void no one ever filled.

"I don't feel comfortable around her but that's my problem right?" I muttered nodding my head as I glanced at my husband whose scowl deepened even more which irritated me to no end.

"We are going no where with this baseless conversation, I have an important work to handle, I will be back in morning, be good." With that he tried to kiss my forehead once again but I dodged it grabbing the glass and taking a sip of a tastless substance called water which felt far more refreshing and comforting than the so called namesake husband of mine.

Karl never coaxed me, or cared if I ever got mad at him, he simply would bring gifts, help my family business making my parents to finally acknowledge my existence for a few hours or would seduce me until I would be the one writhing and trembling under his powerful thrusts. He wasn't good with words I had understood it a long time ago, but most of the times he wasn't good with actions as well and he proved it again by leaving me in the party alone to watch the lovey dovey couples who mocked me of what I was missing or maybe would never ever be able to get.

I went home with the driver who as always stayed quiet letting a low sound of music echo in the car, at least the ride was peaceful. Rory was the only one of the people Karl let me appoint, we weren't really close or comfortable with each other but sometimes in sadness I shared some of my views with him and he simply would suggest me to talk to Karl, as his words, communication can solve any problem but little did he knew for Karl my words never held any importance.

I was already 6 months pregnant with my heavy belly, I didn't have a heart and energy to attend this party but as it was important to Karl, I as always put myself back and became a little obedient dutiful wife again only for him to abandon me once again, well not so surprising yet the hurt and disappointment I felt was still there as fresh as new.

I entered the mansion and my body was so tired that I just wanted to lay in my bed and sleep, I had this habit of sending maids away after 7 pm, and as it was 11 pm already, I thought Anya and her little friend must be sleeping. But I was wrong, my eyebrows knitted deeply when I found the familiar woman sitting on the couch like she owned the place waiting. Obviously waiting for me.

It wasn't her that surprised me, it was what she was wearing. She was cladded in my lilac colored satin nighty, that was the only intimate thing I ever got from my husband. Karl's favorite color was Lilac and when he went to Italy for some business, he asked me if I wanted something, as I desperately wanted his approval that time, I asked him to bring whatever he would like and something I could wear only for him.

I still remember how red my body burned when he demanded for me to wear it and come in front of him. The moment I appeared before him, I didn't know what happened afterwards except for the fact that I was moaning and almost screaming his name out while he kept on murmuring in my ear that I was only allowed to wear it in front of him and no one else.

The audacity of this bitch! Forgive my language God, but i didn't like what I saw. I raked my eyes on her body who without any shame stood before me looking at her nails, "What the hell do you think you're doing?" I raised my voice which sort of startled her, obviously she wasn't familiar with my anger. The obedient and gentle lady I was always with them never even meddled in their matters so It must be new for her to face my anger.

"What? I liked this so I wore it, you're a wife of a billionaire, don't be stinky." I so wanted to smack the shit out of her right now, my hands itched to land on her shitty cheeks but I held the urge back clutching my hands.

"That's my clothes! Have you no shame! You went to my wardrobe trespassing someone's room and even took the owner's clothes without permission, how low are you planning to go just to show how cheap you are?" Her grin wiped away as she glared at me looking both embarrassed and angered.

"This isn't your house! It's Karl's, what owner huh?" I scoffed at her words before walking near her and snickered before her face.

"I am Kathryn Karl Salazar, he's my husband and we both are the owners of this house! Let me tell you one thing," She shut up the moment I used my authority over her.

"What you stole was a gift from my husband to me, I would love to see how he will take care of you after knowing what you did and," The look of fear flashing in her eyes made me satisfied to some degree, at least she knew Karl would definitely peel off her skin for stealing the clothes he bought for his wife.

"You can keep it, consider it a charity from my side after all you're my husband's guest." I smiled sarcastically watching tears of anger filling her eyes, I was now hundred percent satisfied.

I rolled my eyes at her before walking towards the stairs when suddenly I felt a harsh tug at my arm making me face her, "Don't fly too high, Kathryn, it's just because of this child or Karl would have left you a long time ago." The confidence and determination in her voice cracked something in my chest which even i didn't know. Why was she so confidence that he would have left me if not for the child?

I ignored the pain and walked upstairs only to hear her snicker lightly which made me frown, "Don't blame me for whatever is going to happen, blame yourself," I couldn't hear her fully as I walked towards my room and I understood her words clearly as soon as I stepped in my room.

There was something in the floor which made me slip right away and I fell on the ground, my swollen belly was the first one to hit the ground making me cry out in pain, I tried to yell for help when the door of the room was slammed shut leaving no room for my voice to go out. Our room was soundproof.

I cried out in extreme pain feeling something wet in my thighs, "No! No! No! My baby no!" I hastily grabbed my fallen purse and pulled the phone out. I always thought in panic we call people who we think could protect us, and I have no idea why even after all the hits of abandonment I got from him, I called his number.

My husband, Karl Salazar. Once, twice, thrice and many times. I lost the count of calls I made to him while clutching my stomach in pain, I had no friend, no relative or family member who could run for my aid urgently, he was the only man I thought of but that night he crossed the limit of disappointment. He didn't answer not even one call.

Finally giving up on trying his number, I only thought about one more number, Rory, my driver's, he must hadn't gone far, I only had two number I kept in case of emergency, the fact that my husband even after dozens of calls didn't respond but my driver attended the call right after two rings baffled me and left me speechless at how unlucky I was in regard of a life partner, but so lucky for having such a responsible driver.

"R-Rory, I need help, please c-come to my room, please," I don't even know how I mustered the courage and strength to say those words when I was on the verge of fainting anytime.

Rory went berserk right away, he didn't waste a second and thankfully he didn't go much far from the mansion. I only remembered the slight blurry images of someone barging in the room, gasping and yelling for me to open my eyes before my body was picked up and I instantly was taken to the hospital. In the last moments that I lived with excruciating pain, I knew one thing.

I was done, this last hit came way too harder than I had imagined. I was done with Karl, with this marriage, and with my parents. I was too tired and seemed like.

I was too late in making this decision.

She waited years for him to hold her heart. Now all she wanted was to be free of it.Kathryn's PovI had no idea what was wrong with me, I was never this weak, this given up then what was actually wrong with me? I couldn't sleep, each time I tried closing my eyes I could see my son, my husband's indifference and my own bloody form. I had no idea until when I would actually be able to close my eyes like before and sleep the night away. My heart was crumbling and soul wrenching each time I thought about the tiny frame I held for the first time in my arms but it was nothing like I imagined. He didn't open his eyes, he didn't smile, he didn't even make a slightest noise. He just left me, without a single noise, look and touch.I never thought the motherhood I craved for years would be snatched away from me this viciously, what was even my fault? Just because I was married to Karl Salazar, the man she was obsessed with, was it really my fault that? Yes, everyone already knew who was the cu

  • The Divorce, He Denied.    Chapter-5

He found the truth too late, She had been living it alone all along.Author's Pov Karl walked inside the place where Rory asked him to come, his tired red eyes covered with shades fell on the woman kneeling on the floor in front of a small casket, his heart instantly restricted at the sight before he let his heavy steps near them. As expected his wife was crying while laying her head on the closed head of the casket, his little son was trapped in it and there was nothing he could do to bring him out. There was a massive reason why Karl wore shades in such an occasion, his eyes were burning red with the tears he had stuffed in them not freeing them. He was a cautious man, he would never let anyone see him being vulnerable, he had learned this art of hiding his sadness years ago. Clutching his hands into tight fists he leaned closer to the head which showed his newborn son's face as he whispered solemnly only for him to hear."Farewell, my champ." No one heard him, not even the woman s

Author's PovKarl's whole body went numb after hearing the cold response from Rory who had never before even dared to raise his head in front of him. Rory was always respectful towards his boss despite Karl's disliking towards him for some unknown reasons, but this was the first time when he actually behaved and stared at his boss like he was some kind of a pest he wanted to crush under his foot."Dead?" He whispered in astonishment, how could it be? He still remember he had seen her just yesterday, she was all good and healthy maybe a little tired but he had watched her sitting in the car and leaving the venue before he went out of the city for some urgent work."It's impossible!" He rasped not wanting to believe what he had just told him, he had his every enemy on leash, he knew no one would dare to attack his wife, there was no one to harm her then how?"I got her call in the middle of the night," Rory told him everything, he might had exaggerated a few things just to spite this ma

Kathryn's PovAfter sleeping for another few hours, the very first view I got after waking up was Rory sitting on the couch with his head resting on his fisted hand, he was fast asleep. My heart thumped in guilt watching him trying to gather a little sleep in such a painful position. He had been here with me from yesterday and haven't left even for a second, God knows if he even had eaten anything or not like me.Just when I held my body up to sit up, a small hiss escaped my lips at an electric sting I felt on my hand making my attention to divert towards it. After sitting up against the pillow my eyes paused over the shining ring still cradled in my finger, it was quiet surprising that the doctors didn't remove it or maybe they slipped it in my finger after the surgery۔ I never felt burdened over this ring in my whole two years before in this marriage the way I was feeling right now. It felt like something bitter stuck in my throat and wasn't ready to slip down. My hand felt numb, I

It hurt so damn much! I had never experienced such bodily pain, it was almost unbearable and mentally I felt exhausted until my hand due to the old habit went to my stomach wanting to feel the bump. But I felt nothing. My stomach was flat letting my ribs slightly brush my hand as well which I hadn't felt for the past few months. My eyes shot up ignoring the strike of pain erupting in my head increasing the ache in it due to the blinding lights filling the room. My eyes didn't care to look around and was stopped right before my flat stomach, my breathing paused and heart jumped against my chest terribly when the realization slowly started seeping in me even though I wanted to deny it.I was in a hospital
