Lucano’s POV

“Were you thinking I wouldn't find out about your little secret?”  My voice was cold, dripping with vice. “Nathan.” At the mention of his name she flinched, shock brewing in her eyes and spreading deep into her bones.

Her face contorted into a mask of hurt. “You shot him.” She whimpered, almost crying. “Why did you do that?”

I shrugged, “I warned you, Lena. No man touches you except me. You are mine now. Let that stick.” I grabbed her wrist, pulling her away.

“What about him?” She questioned, looking at that cheating bastard with so much tenderness. If only she knew how many holes that prick of his has been in.

My hands coiled tightly around the pistol till my knuckles turned white. I should’ve aimed for his head. But she’ll be scared of me more than she already is. “My guys will take him to the hospital, we have a flight to catch, and you have wifey duties to perform.”

Once in the plane, she looked out the window, and her jaw remained tight. Arms remained crossed around her chest like she was protecting a part of herself from fuming, a part I hadn’t seen yet. She looked ravishing in that bridal gown. The afternoon sun peeking through the window shone perfectly on her fair skin, giving her an angelic glow and highlighting her perfectly sculpted collarbones.

Everything about her was intriguing. My body was aching to be near her in ways it had never done for any woman. She kept biting her bottom lip, a habit I noticed she had when she’s nervous.

Till the plane landed, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Even in her state of sleep, she still broke through the barriers I put up since I lost someone precious.

I brushed her hair slightly, feeling its silky texture on my skin. “We’ve landed,” I whispered into her ear.

Startled, she jerked backwards into her seat. An amused smile tugged at my lips, making her frown. “That’s not funny,” She whined.

I grinned, “No. It’s not.” I gave her my hands, helping her up. She collided against my chest; her heart was a beating mess. So was mine. “You look breathtaking when you sleep. I just can’t resist you.” Her eyes widened as colour splashed on her cheeks, turning them pink.  I was shocked at how soft I sounded, but I still smiled at the clueless look in her ocean blue eyes.

“Welcome, Mr and Mrs Baricelli,” William Adler, my butler, greeted, as soon as we stepped into the house.

Lena gaped wide, admiring the grandeur and minimalist aesthetic of my house. Seems my little bride has excellent taste too. I smiled at her, walking further away with Mr Adler.

“Is our room ready?”

“Everything is as you instructed, Sir. ” He cleared his throat, sounding nervous. “Do I inform Mr Baricelli of your arrival?”

My eyes darted across the room, and Lena was running her hands over the wall paintings.

Italy is my dad’s city, meaning he has eyes everywhere and is very much aware. Lena looked worn out. She could use a bit of bed rest. “That won’t be necessary,” I finally muttered after a few considerations.

Just one, actually. Lena.

“I’ll be in the kitchen, if you need anything else.” He gave a curt nod and left.

“Come on, Lena. I have a surprise for you,” She followed slowly behind.

The floral and musky scent from the rose petals sprawled on my room floor hit our olfactory senses the moment we stepped inside. Candles were lit to form a heart shape with Lena’s name in the middle. That was exactly how my heart felt, since I laid my eyes on her. On fire.

I took in her reaction. It was satisfying to watch. She smiled, bright and wide, exposing her beautiful dentition. That was the first time I had ever seen her smile genuinely, and it ignited a fire inside me.

I wasn’t sure if it was good or bad, giving one person this much power over me. I was used to being in control. With Lena, it feels like I'm losing it, and it scares me. Our contract is just for five years. I should be able to let her go after then, but what if I can't?

“It’s beautiful,” She muttered softly.

“Nothing compared to you, wifey,” I remarked, making her blush, before handing her a box.

“What’s inside?”

“You ask too many questions, Lena. Just open it and do what the note says.”

“Wear me tonight,” She read aloud, bringing the lace fabric out of the box. “Uh-huh,” She protested, looking at it with disgust in her eyes. “There is no way. I’m wearing this fish net.”

“Yes, you will .You will wear this fish net and perform a dance for me tonight.” I grazed my lips on her ear, “Or do it naked.”

“I’ll leave you to prepare,” I added and headed out.

Later that night, I came back to the room after my spa session. Surprisingly, she wore the white lace lingerie she called a fish net earlier and cuffed her hands together. “I knew you had it in you.”

She rolled over, arching her back in a sexy and curvy position. The lingerie was see-through, it left nothing to my imagination. I could see her hardened red nipples, her sexy thighs. When she sucked in her lips, I could feel my cock throbbing aggressively in my pants.

“What now, Mr Lucano?” She said my name with a slutty look in her eyes. One that was devoid of any innocence.

“Now, I’m going to fuck you, till every other man looks like a woman to you.”

And I did.

The following morning, I sat beside the bed, checking and replying to important text messages. My next shipment was on its way.

Lena was still sleeping. I allowed her. She needed it especially after the ministrations I rendered to her last night. Putting her in different positions, letting her ride my cock till she reached her climax, pouring her slimy juice all over my cock.

If there weren't blood stains on the bed as evidence that she was a virgin, I’d say she’d done this a million times.

There were movements on her side of her bed. Snapping me from my thoughts. She had woken up.

“What happened here?” She said softly, trailing her hands on the scars on my back.

I flinched as I relieved the trauma. The crash that claimed my twin sister’s life. The face of the truck driver who drove right into us flashed before my eyes.  The fire. Hot as a furnace. The smoke fanned my nostrils. The screams. The blaring sound of sirens.

I sucked my teeth, holding in the pain of that moment, but I didn't want to break down in front of her. Didn't want her to perceive me as weak.

I brushed her hands off. “Get dressed, we are having breakfast at my parents' mansion. I need you to be on your A game. You have to make my father believe you are worthy of our family name and I'm capable of love. If he doesn’t, our deal is off, and we both lose.” I breathed, “Know this, if you think I’m ruthless, my father is way worse.”

His expression was unreadable.I stood up immediately, “I really fucked up, didn't I?” I said as panic surged through me.“He’s impressed.” His face softened, “Says you are exactly the type of woman our family needs.”I blinked several times, not believing what I just heard. “He said that?”“Sickly, he sees himself in you.”“How so?”“We weren't always wealthy, yunno.”“Hmm.”“That's a story for another day. When one minute, the air around him is like the cool and calming breeze on the sea. The next minute, it's like the air in the forest of birds when a hunter fires his rifle. Choatic and deadly. His father was way worse? What the hell did I get myself into? Welcome to the motherfucking Mafia family, Lena. “Fine.” I schooled my features, “We are telling him the truth about who I really am.”His brows knitted together, “A murderer?”“Funny,” I rolled my eyes, looking away, “A stripper,” I muttered, looking back to find his cold eyes boring holes into my face.“Don’t ever do that again. Roll your eyes at me.” His tone was stern and serious. After last night and the days I have spent with this man. Lena’s POV“Why weren’t you picking up your calls? You had me worried. I called the hospital, and I was told you haven’t visited there all day. It’s 11 pm. Haven’t you seen the alley murders on the news?” My mum spoke in a rush the moment I stepped into the house, worry dripping from her voice “I’m getting married, Mum.” I cut in, my tone high-pitched, earning a glare from her, then it softened. “To Nathan? Aww,” She purred, cutely, adjusting on her wheelchair, and all her pent-up anger from earlier seemed to have dissipated into thin air, “But he didn’t say anything when he came by earlier.” “Who is Nathan?” Lucano’s deep voice echoed behind us.Oh shit. My heart started racing in a million directions as I recalled the seriousness in his tone earlier when he said he'd chop off any man's hand he'd catch me with. “No one. He’s just a friend.” I cut in, voice trembling slightly. Then I trailed off, “Mum, meet my fiancé.” I added with a forced smile.“Fiancé?” She repeated, making m

Lena’s POVThe figure from the corner had a dangerous aura that could suck oxygen from my lungs, leaving me breathless. His eyes darted behind me and back to my face. Something in his eyes shifted. Dark and cruel. Pulling me in and branding every inch of my body. Up close, he was tall. At least six-three. He was built like he could snap me in two without even trying. His suit was perfect, not a wrinkle anywhere. But it was his eyes that made me weak in the knees. Dangerous and cold, such that it was completely empty of anything human. Yet the menacing way he looked at me still managed to make butterflies hatch in my belly.“I…he tried to..” I stammered, barely finishing my sentence. Tension was thick in the air as he stepped into the room. He moved like a cat. Smooth and dangerous. When he spoke, his sexy voice made my stomach flutter in ways that scared me. “I saw what happened.” He tilted his head, studying me. My chest tightened, and a sick feeling settled in my stomach. “Lena.”

Lena’s POVThe bass thrummed through the walls of Club Velvet's dressing room, vibrating against my ribs like a second heartbeat. I hunched over the compact mirror, the mascara wand trembling between my fingers. Above us, fluorescent lights buzzed and flickered, casting a sickly red glow over every stripper’s skin.I let out an exasperated sigh, fisting through my hair as the email I received from the hospital this morning flashed through my mind. “We will stop Elsa’s chemotherapy if you don’t make your next payment.” Elsa is my six-year-old sister. She is brilliant. Funny. She is supposed to be out on the field, laughing and catching grasshoppers as she normally does. Instead, she's confined to a hospital bed and hooked to various life support machines. Tears rolled down my eyes, and pain rippled through me at the mere thought of losing her if I can't pay the hospital. My mum can’t take care of her, she has a stroke, and my dad? We woke up one morning, and he was gone. No one know
