23. A Banquet

AGNARR.

The tension in the air is almost visible as the guests pour into my fortress throughout the afternoon.

Perhaps they are here to find the weaknesses in my walls, or maybe they will try to attack me in my own home. Who knows? Surely one or two will betray me and I will betray a few, too.

That is how things work.

They are searched upon entry, but we all know there are many ways to achieve what we need to without the help of weapons, poisons or spells.

They are all from different tribes, from all across the kingdom and of different elements.

“King Agnarr, or as you are now called outside your lands, The Outlaw King.” Haizhar, an earth-dragon of one of the bordering lands, says as he greets me with a hug.

“I am called many names. It is hard to keep up,” I reply as I sit back on my throne.
