Have you ever had that feeling you were floating? having an out-of-body experience? That is what I am feeling right now. My life in a few short months had just shattered because of the bomb that had just dropped on me. The things I thought I knew were not true.

Ari had been silent. She was angry, hurt, and sad. I felt numb after my blow-up. There was a knock at the door. I hoped whomever it was would leave. Someone walks in after I hear another knock and a turn of the door. But I didn’t bother looking up, I pressed my face into my pillow. The person was sitting on the edge of my bed.

The person just sat there for a moment, sighed, and then I looked up, whipping the tears away that were pouring down my cheeks, seeing Jenifer staring at me with a sad expression. “Are you okay Zayla? As she pulled me into a hug, she asked. I moved away from her. “I don’t think I’ll be okay for a long time. How did my life get so turned upside down? It’s a lot to process.” I said, exhaling.
