I woke up feeling like shit. My body hurt all over, extremely sore from shifting for the first time. I groaned loudly. "Some of us are still trying to sleep." Ash said cranky.I forgot we slept in the same bed last night. "Sorry, princess. Better not mess with that beauty sleep." I said sarcastically. "Don't mind me. I'll just die silently over here." "You're not being very silent." He deadpanned and I threw a pillow at his face. His eyes slit open and he smiled that cheeky smile of his. Never cranky for long, this one. "Alright alright. What's wrong?" He asked. "I feel like I got run over by 3 semis, repeatedly." I sighed."Oh yeah. Your body is pretty sore after your first shift. I'll do for you what mom did for me." He sat up on the bed real serious all of a sudden. He slapped his hands together, rubbing them fast until they began to glow, then he placed them on me. A quick shock flew through me and it was like my body was better than before. Like I was just given an adrenal
Ash and I were so stuffed from lunch. We were just lazing about in our room for most of the afternoon. When the rankings were posted we went and looked. Of course I was ranked first and Ash second. Toni was ranked 3rd and then Tate was ranked 4th. I didn't look past that. At about 5 I started getting ready for Josh's gig. I tied my hair back in a tight bun. I wore a lace black choker, a white shirt with red splashes of paint and tight black skinny jeans. I wore my black converse with red roses I had painted on them. I wore some eyeliner and thick mascara. I decided to go even bolder and wore a matte burgundy lipstick. Burgundy was always a nice color on dad and I. "Well damn. I don't think I'm dressed right." Ash laughed looking at me. "Yeah, hold on. I'll fix you." I went to his room and looked through his closet. I found a pair of black jeans that weren't too baggy and a zooyork dark blue jacket. I paired it with some dark blue vans he had and gave him a silver chain to wear.
A full blooded siren. I had never met one before, but it explains why I feel so weird. Sirens mess with your head and your emotions and usually you're not even aware it's happening or that it has been done. A real mind fuck. I nodded my head and linked Ash letting him know. Rachel apparently already knew, which makes sense since she's seen this band many times before. I wonder if the crowd goes even crazier for their band because Dex is on stage. I kept my gaze averted from Dex the rest of the evening. "So do you guys go to the same high school as us?" Ash asked, making friendly conversation. "Dex goes to our school, he's just absent a lot. Tris is homeschooled, and Killian here goes to a school for the gifted." Josh answered him. Killian gave me a little smirk, being boastful about where he goes to school. "That's cool. So how did you guys meet then?" Ash was being very curious. "Online." Tris answered. "Josh posted tryouts for a band.""Really? That's cool." Ash took a drink o
Toni let me embrace him for another couple minutes, before Ash and Rachel found us. They told us that everyone was going out to eat at the local pizza place. We all packed into Toni's car. Josh, Killian and Tris followed in Killian's jeep. Thankfully Dex drove his motorcycle home. 'You and Toni looked intimate.' Ash linked me. 'I want to let him in. I just don't know how much exactly.' I told him honestly. 'I'm impressed you're letting him in at all.''I'm trying.' We got to the diner and all hopped down from the car. I hung back letting Rachel and Ash walk in front for a change. 'Get me a slice of cheese. I need to talk to Toni.' I linked Ash. 'Will do. Go get him, tiger.' He joked as he held the door open for Rachel. I turned around holding my hand out for Toni to take. He looked at me a bit confused at first, but placed his hand in mine all the same. A slight smirk played on his lips as he rubbed the back of my hand with his thumb. "What's up?" He asked curiously. "Can we
I woke up on my bed in the pack house, not sure how I got here. Last thing I remember is being in Toni's car last night. My cheeks blushed a bit when I thought of his handsome face. I don't like that Ash and I don't have adjoining rooms here. In fact, he's across the hall. I washed my face and brushed my teeth really quick. I changed into some black joggers and a tight gray shirt, before stepping out into the hall. I knocked on Ash's door, but he didn't answer, which was odd. 'Where are you?' I linked him. 'Breakfast. You were taking too long and my stomach was growling at me.' 'Rude. I'm coming. There better be a plate for me.' I'm surprised he didn't just wake me up sooner. I ran down the stairs towards the large dining area for the pack. My eyes were focused on my feet, trying to make sure I didn't miss a step. I hit something hard, causing me to almost fall back. A hand caught me, and pulled me back up."You good? You really should keep your eyes up." Tate smirked at me. His
"I was beginning to think you had died on the way here." Ash joked as I took my seat next to him.Toni had left to work on some beta training duties. I need to tell Charles that Toni is my mate, but I worry for Toni when I do. I honestly need to tell all my parents. I sighed thinking about how that conversation will go. Ash and I finished breakfast together and then had private training with Charles. Charles had both of us train in wolf form. He's trying to build Talia and my stamina. It's harder for me to fight in wolf form. There's a disconnection between the way I want to fight and the way she fights. We're not used to one another still. 'You need to be in wolf form as often as possible. You need to get used to one another. You're fighting worse than the pups that just got their wolf.' Charles linked me. It hurt to hear, but I knew he was right. Talia and I need to bond. We don't have the same bond as everyone else. She feels close to me since she could feel me over the years. I
I'm glad I told all of them together about my mate. Dad understands too well what it's like to be judged by what you are and not who you are. I know he'll like Toni. "I'm sorry that didn't go the way it should have." Ash still sounded so upset. I shook my head. "Don't be. I felt the support from you, mom and dad. Thank you." I squeezed him in a side hug. "You'll always have my support in anything you do. I'm here for you Twinkie." He smiled real big at me. It made me think of the first time he got in a fight with a kid who was being mean to me. He had a swollen cheek and some scrapes from the fight, but he gave me a big grin when he won. I remember feeling so loved and protected. He's like my sunshine on a dark cloudy day. My great protector. I teared up again… I'm overly emotional. "You're the best brother in the world, Ash. I mean that." He squeezed me real tight. "Let's get you ready for that date." He said, pushing me to my room. "Where are you going anyway?" "I don't kno
My alarm sounded and I wanted to beat myself up for not going to bed sooner. Toni dropped me off at my room around 10, giving me a kiss goodnight. Ash and I had stayed up talking till around 1 in the morning talking about the date. He and I were both dragging our feet this morning. I haven't seen Charles or Eryn since yesterday evening before the date. I'm not sure what Charles is doing, probably avoiding me. He's the worst at apologies.I know I have training with Eryn after school today so he'll probably try to make it up to me in some way. Eryn always went out of his way when he wanted to make someone feel better. He's a good guy, just being king has put too much pressure on him. He's too stressed all the time and it's taking its toll on him. I can see it in the way he's changed.I got dressed and ready quickly, having hit snooze too many times. I bunched my hair in a messy bun and ran out with Ash. His hair was standing in many different ways and yet he still looked so handsome. H
