Chapter 48
“Trevor?” I asked quietly completely shocked. What the hell?
“You know him?” Clint asked
I didn’t even bother answering him as I was still completely shocked. Trevor and two other guys walked up to me. He looked me up and down and then bear hugged me. His arms were so tight around me, my face was smooshed against his chest. I let out a whimper, my eyes were watery but I managed to keep it together. At this point, he was holding me up.
It felt like everything came crashing down on me. All the emotional stuff I kept hidden because of my situation hit me like a tidal wave. I felt the terror of being trapped, not eating for who knows how long, scared of being alone and not having anyone to help me. It all came and hit me in the heart, making me realize just how much I missed people I cared about.
Trevor let me go and took a step back. He kept his hands on me shoulders, as to say, ‘are you real?’

I really wanted to try that force thing. As we walked, I kept thinking about doing it on command. When it happened before, I was angry and didn’t realize what I was doing. I was only able to eat about half of the burger. My stomach was used to eating mush and a greasy burger was not ideal but it was food. I did feel better and the water helped rehydrate me. I have to keep reminding myself not to chug it. How much fucking longer till we are there? I really want clothes, a shower and shoes would be nice. I peeked out from behind the trees. There was no less than ten armored black SUV looking vehicles. The windows were so tinted, you couldn’t even see into them, not even a shadow. Justin walked up to a window and started talking to the guy. “Justin?” the guy in the window asked “Yes, and you are?” “Kevin. I am the lead of this rescue mission. Where is Nina?” “In the trees… guarded” “We don’t have all day, I need to verify the package and get everyone out of here” With that he honked the horn and the doors opened in each vehicle and men started pouring out. I was so focused on my mission I didn’t even pay attention to where we were going. I had the images of a hot shower. The water running down my body, the smell of shampoo and conditioner. I wanted to scrub every inch of my body free of the memory of that place. Reed stopped walking in front of a door. “Here is your room. I will have food brought to you and it will be on your bed when you are done showering. The closet is stalked and should be around the right size for you. Chose whatever you want to wear, they are for guest to use and take as needed. I have also had a female lay out all the items you may need. Again, use whatever you want. There is a phone by the bed. Slowly, the blackness is fading and I can hear some whispering. I am hit full force with a very concerned and annoyed emotions. It is way too early for this! I just want to go back to sleep but the whispering is pretty loud now. Peaking my eye open, I see Wyatt is standing at the door in only sweat pants. Walking out of the bedroom, I was met with a warm, homey feeling hallway. Kelly lead the way down a hallway and to the stairs. The carpet was a cream fluffy kind that your toes sunk into and made you want to squish down it in like mud. The walls were a darker tan with pictures of who I assume are pack members and family. Different events and parties also found their way on the walls. The stairway was grand but still had a homey feel to it. The kind of feeling that you get when you go into your grandma’s house and you didn’t have to worry about what you touched or if you accidently broke something. You could put your feet on the couch or curl up with a blanket and fall asleep and you wouldn’t get in trouble for it. I loved this feeling. This is how I want my house to feel. Warm and inviting. We all sat in silence for what seemed forever, in reality it was more like ten minutes. Just soaking in all this information. I have an uncle. Supposably, he is on my side and wants to help me. Help me win a war I still don’t know much about. What I do know is how hard it will be to win this. I have Wyatt’s concern, anger and confusion hitting me in the face.
