Chapter Two

Charles was still at home when he received the call of his sister. The sister bid him to come to a restaurant for a brief discussion on his business and other issues.

His sister had no intention of talking about his business but she know that's the only way to get his attention.

At first, he rejected the invitation but later gave it a second thought.

The restaurant is very close to his sister place and to his office as well. The sister purposely fixed the appointment in the restaurant so that it would be more convenient for him.

His sister called him when she got there and he promised to join them soon.

He got there and locate her sister sitting position.

They exchange greetings. Then, noticed a young beautiful lady sitting beside his sister. The lady smiled at him and he returned the smile.

They decided to eat which everyone makes his/her order and was delivered to each according to their demands.

Suddenly, he noticed an appearance of a waiter who was doing her job with a lot of enthusiasm and joy.

He looked at how the lady was smiling enjoying herself though no one knows why the lady look happier than her colleagues.

The lady was about attending to a customer when a hot tea spilled on her hand by a customer who was holding his cup carelessly.

The hot tea hurt her but she was able to manage the pain. She rushed to get some waters to suppress the pain.

She moved towards the customer and apologized for her behavior.

He was mad at her from the far direction where he was sitting

"Why will she apologized to someone who hurts her!" He thought.

She continued with her job attending to other customers with smiles on her face.

"What gave her so much joy?" He muttered.

The lady sitting with him noticed how he focused on the lady but ignored it for some times but now she couldn't take it any longer.

"You! Come here" she pointed at the waiter.

Everyone looked towards the lady direction and why she shouted to that extent. People outside the restaurant could hear her voice audibly.

She moved towards her still smiling. She was innocent and was doing what she like doing most.

She got to where they were sitting and the lady shouted on her.

"Why are you seducing my husband?" The lady said angrily.

She looked at the man she's referring to as her husband and discovered that he's the guy that took her virginity.

She felt embarrassed but managed to speak up with a low voice.

"I'm not trying to seduce your husband, I was just doing my work" she said in a low voice.

He couldn't believed that she's the girl that she had sex with. He loved her the more when he heard her cool charming voice but pretended as if he has no feelings for her.

He stood immediately to defend her without minding what his sister or the lady would do.

"How dare you called me your husband! You are not my wife not even my fiancee" He said angrily.

Everyone focused on their direction. The waiter apologized and returned to her position.

He looked at the lady and turned to her sister before sitting.

The manager had the noise from her inner office but was busy with some managerial works. He was happy when everywhere looked calmed within seconds. Perhaps, one of her staffs had messed up with a customer and the issue had been settled.

He turned to one of her staff who happens to be the accused person.

"What happened Linda?" he asked.

"I was busy attending to the customer when one of them accused me of seducing her husband" she replied.

The manager looked at her but decided to ask her for clarification.

"Are you doing that?" He asked.

"But... No sir, I didn't" she replied.

The manager know her ways. She is always happy doing her job without minding anyone. But advised her on how to deal with some customers especially the opposite gender so it won't cause more problem in the Future.

The manager returned to his office after the short advise.

She felt rejected and embarrassed. She couldn't move freely like the way she used to. Her morale became low. She finds it difficult to  change her mood.

One of her colleagues noticed her and walked down her direction.

"Give me that smile!" She said touching her cheeks.

She smiled and later laughed when her colleague teased her but remembered the pain of the last night with the guy.

She looked towards the lady's direction and all what she could see is her angrily looking face. She looked at the man sitting beside her. The said lady's husband.

She remembered the words he said to her when she was about leaving his house. She wanted to cry but she remembered that she was in the office

She wasn't happy about the incident likewise she's not wrong. She was only doing her job giving it the best she could.

She was still looking towards their direction when she saw someone standing.

She was surprised to see the lady standing. She felt bad and thought of the damage that could have done in the family. The lady claimed that the man is her husband whereas the man denied it. Probably it's because of the misunderstanding and some issues they have at hand. All these were running through her mind.

And if she's not his wife, then, who is that woman sitting close to them?. She muttered.

The man on the other side was angry with his sister for fixing an appointment with a lady with a bad character.

Everyone in the family has been persuading him to get married but he was more busy with his business than the marriage.

She had fixed him up with at least four ladies before the last. All what she wanted from him is to get married as soon as possible.

They left the restaurant with the intention of going to his office to complete some task . His sister told him she will be visiting a friend not too far from the restaurant and promised to check on him before the end of the day and tell him why he must marry the lady that just left them.

Linda is also done for the day arranging and packing her things since it's a shift duty and the other staff is around to resume her position.

She was about going when one of  her colleagues who had earlier comforted her bid her to come.

She whispered into her ear.

"Don't forget to smile always. It look good on you" she said.

She smiled profusely and looked at her eyes.

"I have to go now" she said.

She was happy with her colleague reaction. Thinking of how she would have left her office without smile and joy if not for her friend that intervened.

She kept thinking on the incident and wondered why the lady would have done something of such.

The thought cleared off her mind thinking of what she could faced when she got home.
