LOGIN"I am so sorry," the man apologised but Valerie ignored him.
"Sorry for yourself!" She mumbled, as she tried to walk past him. Someone pushed her, and she almost fell. The man was quick to grab her by the waist and pull her up. Valerie got angry about it and pushed him away. "Are you trying to take advantage of me?" She yelled. "I was only trying to help," the man answered. "Help? These don't seem like help to me. You have it all planned out. Well, sorry to burst your bubble. You can't get me!" The man was surprised. Why would she think that? "I did not mean to step on you," he defended. "And I apologised. I also did not mean to hold you. I was only trying to help. Why are you being so rude?" Valerie ignored him and walked out. He wasn't the first to try to get her attention using this method, but when they find out that she is cursed, they run away without looking back. "Val," Elora called. They were seated on a bench and staring at the dark beautiful sky. "I think you took it too far this time. The man meant no harm." Valerie shook her head. "Elora, we both know what the past ones have been like. He is just one of them." Elora sighed. There isn't anything she will say that would convince Valerie. But she understands. She understands why Valerie is like this. It wasn't her fault. Maybe if they had all treated her well even after finding out that she is a cursed omega with no wolf or mate, things would have been different. Elora can still remember when Valerie first returned to the Moonlight Pack; she was ten. Her mother's only sister had just died, and there was no one to take care of her, so she was brought back from the Starlight Pack. Elora remembered she was a very quiet and timid girl and she had loved her the first time she saw her. She became the only one she spoke to but as time went on, she became more and more open to others. Everything changed at eighteen, when she was yet to have her wolf, and the rumor that she might be the cause of her mother and aunt's death suddenly began. Friends began to leave her and everyone avoided her. Mothers warned their children to stay away from her. People talk about her when they see her. Valerie went back to being the timid, quiet girl she was when she first came. Elora's father did warn her at first to stay away from her, but when she did not listen and insisted that Valerie wasn't cursed, her father left her. It took a while before Elora was able to get her friend to speak to her again, and though she became lively again, there were times she fell back into her quiet mode, and she had to wait until she was ready to speak again. Elora stared at Valerie. Two years ago, when they stumbled upon this club and had been coming over to have fun, Valerie stopped drifting into her quiet mood and has been very lively. She had also tried to give love a chance and had hoped to meet her mate one day, but now, at twenty-four, she had stopped believing in that. Maybe that was because men had treated her badly in the past few years and many had judged her based on the rumor. Elora held her hand and made her rest her head on her shoulder. "Valerie," she called softly. "I know that one day, you will meet someone who will love you no matter what others think about you." Valerie nodded but said nothing. She had long stopped believing in that and had already accepted her fate of not having a wolf or a mate. "How about we go in and have more fun?" She asked and Elora agreed. They returned, took a few more drinks before going to dance some more. By the time they were done dancing, it was past three and time to go home. They waved at the bartender and then left the club. While waiting for the taxi man to be back, a few men offered to drop them off but they refused. "Do you need a ride?" Someone asked. It was the same man whom Valerie had had an argument with a while ago. "Did we ask for your help?" She asked him. "I am so sorry. I just want to help," he said but Valerie ignored him. "Thank you," Elora answered. "I don't think she wants your help." The man nodded. "I guess she doesn't. See you ladies around." After he drove off, Elora stared at Valerie, eyeing her suspiciously. "Why do I have a feeling that you like him?" Valerie scoffed. Like who? "I do not like him." "Valerie, you like him. You are just scared." Valerie groaned. Where did she get this love-struck brain friend from? "I am not scared, Elora. And I don't like him either. I just don't like that he kept bothering me." Elora nodded. "Fine. I believe you. Our driver is here." They entered the car and returned to the Moonlight Pack. It was dawn already and a few Pack members were awake; they had to go through the back gate to avoid being caught. They got to Valerie's room first. Valerie hugged Elora for the last time before Elora left. Valerie climbed over the window and was back in her room. She headed to the bathroom, took a quick bath, and then changed into her pyjamas. She jumped on her bed, covered herself with a blanket and in a few minutes she was sleeping peacefully. Valerie did not sleep for long; the knock on her door woke her up. "Valerie, wake up. I have news for you," Elora said, knocking on the door. Valerie stood up from the bed, yawning slightly. She wasn't satisfied with her sleep yet and if it wasn't Elora, she would have ignored the knock completely. She opened the door and Elora rushed in. She looked so worried and Valerie could tell she had cried. What had happened in the last few hours they had been away from each other? Her sleepy eyes became clear as she led Elora to the bed. "Is anything wrong, Elora? Talk to me." Elora took a deep breath. "You know the missing daughter of the Ice Pack?" Valerie nodded and Elora took a deep breath again. "I-I am that daughter." Valerie stared at her and burst into laughter. "Elora, your jokes are funny." Elora shook her head. "I am not joking, Val. My dad told me when I got back. I will be leaving in two days." Valerie blinked. Elora is not joking? And she is leaving in two days? "Y-you mean you are not joking?" Elora nodded, and Valerie stood up. She moved to the wall and placed her head on it. The thought of Elora leaving made her cry, but she didn't want Elora to see that. Elora moved closer to her and hugged her, while they both wept. The few days spent in the southern Waterfall Pack were awesome for both Valerie and Audrey. For Ariel, it was a stressful one; she had to deal with work as well as help with the planning of the festival.Although Valerie and Audrey helped out, they spent most of their time visiting places and having fun. They met with other Alphas' daughters; most of them were from the southern hemisphere so they did not know her as the Luna of the Fire Pack, which was a good one.Valerie met Claire, Arden's twin. She recognized Valerie which was a surprise to her."Arden told me a lot about you," she told Valerie. "It's good to finally meet you in person.""It's good to meet you too, Claire. I only heard about you some days ago.""Let me guess," Claire said. "Ariel told you about me." Valerie nodded. "I knew it. Arden would never talk about me. He doesn't love me. Only Ariel does."Valerie smiled. "Maybe he does.""Enough of Arden. How are you? How are you enjoying the Fire Pack? Leonard is not bully
"You need to be careful though," Alpha Jason said. "Try to avoid Luella as much as you can. She might want to provoke you. You can't let anyone know you are the Moonlight Pack Alpha's daughter."Valerie nodded. "I won't.""And you can't let anyone find out about your marriage to the Fire Pack Alpha either."Valerie nodded again. "I won't.""It's good to see you though," he said. "Hope you are good? He isn't mistreating you, is he?"Valerie shook her head. "He's been nice to me.""Good to hear that. You should head back. If I have any news, I will get in touch with you."Valerie stood up. "Thank you, Jason. Thank you so much."Alpha Jason smiled. "Come on, you're my cousin, and my mom loved you so much when she was alive. If I don't take care of you, she might appear in my dream to beat me up."They laughed and Valerie left the garden. On her way back to the Packhouse, Valerie's mind was troubled. She doesn't know what exactly is going on and that scares her.One minute she thinks that
Valerie and Ariel spent two days in the northern Waterfall Pack before leaving for the southern Waterfall Pack with Audrey. For those two days, Valerie had nothing to do. Although she assured Audrey's father that Leonard would do nothing, he was scared and prevented her from going out of the Packhouse. "There are a lot of fun things in the Packhouse," he had told her. "If you need anything Audrey and Miss Ariel can get them for you." Valerie suspected Leonard must have threatened him to keep her but she had no proof. So when they were finally leaving, she felt happy; she finally got to live as herself not as Leonard's Luna. Valerie was certain none of the southern hemisphere Alphas knew her as the Luna of the Fire Pack, which would make things easy for her. With them no longer at the northern Waterfall Pack, Audrey is also not obligated to watch or keep her safe. Valerie was so happy that she could not stop smiling, and that got Audrey's attention. "You look really happy
"I will speak to..." They heard a knock on the door. "Who's that?" Valerie asked."It's Ariel," Ariel answered. "Can I come in?""Sure, you can," Valerie said.Ariel opened the door and walked in. "Did you switch off your phone?" Valerie nodded. "I think you should turn it on. Leonard has been calling me. He said he called you. It rang a few times and then it stopped going through."Valerie picked her phone up from the table and turned it on. She realized she had some missed calls. Only one was from Luella. The other two were from Leonard. She had two messages too.Valerie groaned. Did she mistake Leonard's name for Luella's? What if Leonard punishes the Waterfall Pack because she did not pick up his calls? She was still contemplating whether to call him or not when he called. She stared at the phone and then at Ariel. Ariel nodded and Valerie picked up the call. She had thought Leonard would shout at her but he did not."Are you okay?" He asked in a very calm voice."Y-yes, I am," Va
Maybe she wasn't even cursed in the first place, and her fear and others' fear are the real issues. After Elora's incident, Valerie never tried to swim, nor spoke about it.Although she wasn't sure if the same would happen again this time, she isn't going to take chances."I am not scared of water but I do not want to learn how to swim either," she said."But it's fun. You will..."Ariel pulled Audrey by the hand slightly and whispered. "That's enough, Audrey. Don't push further."Ariel could not say why but she could tell Valerie was hurt; maybe from her past experiences with water or the experiences of others with it.Audrey sighed. "I guess that ends the conversation."Silence lingered among them, everyone lost in their separate thoughts.Ariel wondered how bad Valerie's experience was that she doesn't want to learn. Audrey wondered how they were supposed to have fun if they wouldn't be swimming. Valerie on the other hand, wondered if her reaction had spoiled the fun."How about we
"Hi," the man waved again. "You're Miss Elora's friend right?"Valerie nodded. "You know Elora?"The man nodded. "I do. She's one of our great customers. She always gets this candy for her best friend, which I guess is you."Valerie smiled. The candy Audrey is talking about is actually the same candy Elora always gets for her.Does Elora have to fight her way to get them just like Audrey is doing?"I...""Are you here to get packs of candies?" The man asked.Valerie nodded. "My friend here likes it."The man nodded and left. He returned a few minutes later with some packs."You can have them.""I can?" The man nodded and Valerie smiled. "Thank you.""Have you heard from your friend? I heard she no longer stays in the Moonlight Pack."Valerie nodded. "She stays in the Ice Pack. I will let her know you asked after her.""Please do," the man answered. "I have to go now."After the man left, Valerie gave Audrey two packs and she jumped happily."This is the first time I got two packs. Tha
The drive to the ship harbor was surprisingly a short one. Byran said nothing to Valerie during the trip; he only stole glances at her, which she knew but said nothing about. The car finally stopped and Valerie breathed a sigh of relief; there had been an awkward silence between them. She ste
Arden went into the house and Leonard returned to his own mansion. On his way, he could not help but think about what had happened to warrant a sudden meeting. It's been two months since he last visited them. He had only spoken to a few people on the phone to check on their activities and eve
"She isn't even saying anything," one of the maids snapped. "She must be guilty.""She is not," Diana insisted."Why are you even supporting her, Diana?" Bella asked A heated argument ensued between Diana and the other maids as Diana tried to defend Valerie and herself."Enough!!!" Valerie yelled.
Diana took Valerie to the maids' quarters and gave her clothes to change into."You can take your bath over there." She pointed. "And rest here when you are done eating." Valerie nodded. "I will drop your food on the table before you are done taking your bath. And I will be back by evening to take
