LOGINAfter Elora left the Moonlight Pack, Valerie stopped going to the clubhouse they always went to. She spent most of her time indoors, painting, reading, and chatting with Elora whenever she had the chance, and when she was bored, she visited every place in the Moonlight Pack they had visited together.
So many times, her father tried to make her become friends with Luella but Valerie wouldn't budge. She was comfortable with having only Elora as a friend even though she is no longer around her. She also did not feel comfortable with Luella; Valerie thinks she pretends a lot. "I think you should go out and have some fun," Elora had told her during one of their long calls. "But you are not here anymore," Valerie had replied to her. Elora was always the reason she was willing to go out but now that she is no longer here, Valerie doesn't have to zeal anymore. "I know. But please go out and have fun," Elora insisted. "You can't keep being sad because of that. I won't be happy about that." Valerie assured Elora that she would try her best, but days passed, and they were back to having the same conversation. Not only did Valerie not go out to have some fun, but she also remained indoors for a long time. "But you promised me," Elora told her. "I tried," Valerie replied. "But I couldn't bring myself to leave my room." "You just have to try harder, Valerie," Elora encouraged her. "I wish I could come back to the Moonlight Pack soon, but the Ice Pack is far away and there are so many things to get familiar with." Valerie sighed. She understands. Elora is just getting familiar with the Ice Pack; she can't leave yet. "Your dad called me, Val. He sounded so worried about you. Can you try to go out today? Or even speak to a few people." Valerie shook her head. She wasn't going to accept that. She can still remember vividly how the Pack members had treated her badly and are still treating her badly. "I am not speaking to anyone here, Elora. You know..." "I know and I understood you perfectly. But I still want you to be happy. How about you go to the club? Maybe..." "I tried so many times, but when I got to the gate, I went back." Elora sighed. What can she do to make Valerie happy? She was worried that if this continued, Valerie would go back into her shell. "How about I call the driver to pick you up today?" Elora asked. "I do not think I want to go," Valerie said and that ended the conversation. Elora decided to speak to her about something different. Although she wanted her friend to go out and have fun, she wasn't going to force her into doing it. They talked for a while before the call ended. Valerie decided to take a stroll and maybe visit her father; she doesn't want him to be too worried about her. She changed into more comfortable clothes, picked up her phone, and then left the room. Valerie met a few maids on her way out of the Pack house. A few of them greeted her, while others ignored her. Valerie ignored them too and went to the training ground. She decided she was not going to visit the places she had visited with Elora, but instead went to places she had never visited. She met some warriors practicing. Those who recognized her greeted her and those who did not just kept staring at her strangely. Surprisingly, Valerie felt happy watching them. She found a spot and then sat down. She took pictures and sent them to Elora, telling her she had found a new interest. By the time Valerie left the training ground, she had one thing in mind: to become a warrior too. She visited her father to tell him what she wanted to do. "I don't want that for you," her father told her. "Being a warrior is stressful." Valerie insisted that was what she wanted and her father had no option but to give in. "But on one condition," her father told her. "I don't want you to remain indoors. Go out, have fun, and stop making me worry about you." Valerie assured her father that she would stop staying indoors and try to make friends. "But I can't assure you that they will make friends with me." Her father nodded. For as long as his daughter comes out of her shell and is happy again, he is satisfied. Valerie left her father's place and instead of returning to her room, she joined the rest at the dining table. Everyone was surprised to see her but they said nothing about it, except Luella, who could not keep shut about it. "I did not expect to see you here." "Well, I am here now," Valerie answered. Before dinner was served, Luella tried to start a conversation with Valerie but she was turned down politely. "So rude," Luella mumbled. Dinner was served and they went on to eat. Valerie left the table before the others, but did not go back to her room. She went on a stroll down the street instead. Valerie walked in silence for a while with a lot running through her mind. She was beginning to think whether her decision to become a warrior was a good one and if they would accept her or treat her like others do. They must know about her curse. She thought. What if they stay away from her? Becoming a warrior would be difficult. Valerie's phone began to ring, jolting her out of her thoughts. It was Elora calling; she picked it up. "Val, I might not be able to speak to you for the next few weeks," Elora said. "Why?" Valerie asked. "My dad wants me to learn the Pack rules and also go to council meetings with him," Elora answered. "I might also be traveling with him in a few days." Valerie groaned. If Elora gets busy, what is she supposed to do? But she can't stop Elora from doing what she is supposed to do. She sighed. "For how long will that be?" "You mean when we are going to return?" Elora asked. "I am not sure of that. But I will try to get in touch as soon as I can." Valerie nodded. "I will be expecting your call soon." After the call ended, Valerie returned to the Pack house. She saw Luella lurking around. She seems to be on a call, which she ended the moment she saw Valerie. "What are you doing over there?" Valerie wanted to ask but she decided against it. "Hi," Luella mumbled. "Hi," Valerie waved back. "Do you ever go out?" Luella asked. "Like clubbing? Don't you ever get bored?" "I do not get bored," Valerie answered. "You..." "Good night, Luella," Valerie ended the conversation. Luella was angry that Valerie cut her short. She wasn't trying to be friends with her because she wanted to but because her father insisted. "Whatever," she mumbled before entering the Pack house too.Valerie's bags were brought in a few minutes later by some men and Arden. Valerie could feel the same strange aura around them. They must be the only ones Leonard trusts. She thought. Or maybe the strange aura was to differentiate the Alpha's men from others. She shook her head. Whatever it is, it is not her business. She needs to spend one year here and leave."Congratulations on your wedding, Valerie," Arden said, after the guards left. "Wishing that you are blessed with sons and daughters next year."Valerie stared at him. What sort of a wish is that? This is not even a real wedding.Ariel nudged him and he chuckled."I was just joking," he mumbled. "But I do hope and wish that you enjoy your stay here, so that you won't have to leave."Valerie sighed. Even if she ends up wanting to stay, she can't. She already signed a contract.Silence invaded the room, as if they were all lost in their separate thoughts. Ariel wasn't comfortable with it so she spoke up. "Valerie, did you not sa
Leonard moved away, and everyone clapped, smiling happily, while Valerie remained in a daze; the kiss caught her by surprise. The rest of the ceremony was short and when it was announced that it was over, Valerie took a deep breath. Finally!!!Arden went on to announce her as the Pack's new Luna. A lot of people came to congratulate them, giving her a lot of gifts."They are trying to win you over," he whispered to her.Valerie wondered why they would want to win her over. She isn't even his real wife."Be ready to receive more," he added.Valerie scoffed slightly. She doesn't even care about the gifts. He can keep them for his future Luna."When is this ending?" She asked instead. "I mean everything.""Not any time soon," Leonard answered. "You haven't met with the people yet, have you?"Valerie groaned. She thought that after this, she could return home. She feels so tired."Ariel will be here to take you to change," he said. "I am leaving. See you tonight."Valerie blinked. Why doe
Elora came out of the bathroom feeling better. She had taken her bath already."You should go take your bath too, Ariel," she said.Ariel left them and went to the bathroom. Elora went on to get ready while Valerie just stared into space. She had a lot going on in her mind. She was finally getting married and a lot of people would finally know what she looks like. What will her life after the wedding be like? How would the Fire Pack members accept her? How will Leonard treat her when the contract finally starts? A hand tapped her. It was Elora. She waved her hand across Valerie's face."Hello? Valerie?"Valerie blinked. "W-what happened?""You were lost in thought. Are you okay?""I am fine," Valerie answered. "You've dressed up already."Elora nodded, turning around. "What do you think?""It looks perfect on you," Valerie answered. "How about we take a picture together? We can take another one when Ariel is done getting ready."Elora nodded and Valerie stood up. They took a few pict
As the night drew closer, Valerie began to feel anxious. Tomorrow, she will be getting married to Leonard. With reality setting in, Valerie's heart skipped a bit at the thought of it. She kept staring at the wall clock; a clock that seemed not to be moving.Just yesterday, she had her last fitting. Her shoes and accessories were also brought in. She had worn them, and stood in front of the mirror, admiring how beautiful they were on her."She was ready," she had told herself. But now, she realized she had never been ready and had just been going with the flow. Valerie wished she could change her mind or maybe move the wedding forward a bit; maybe a week or two."Do you think we can move the wedding a bit?" She asked Elora and Ariel. "I don't feel ready."Elora told her she may never feel ready even if the wedding was shifted."Elora is right," Ariel said. "Just get it done once."Valerie could not agree less, she needs to get it done once and for all. But that doesn't stop the fear sh
The wedding preparation began; Elora and Ariel offered a lot of help. First, they spoke to Valerie to know what she wanted. Valerie told them she had nothing on her mind and they could go on with whatever they had in mind. "It's your wedding," Elora said. "You should be fully involved." "How about we come up with some ideas," Ariel suggested. 'You can make your choice?" Valerie agreed to it and they went on to make the plan. In the end, they came up with two wedding styles. "I think I like the second one the best," Valerie told them. "It's simple but elegant." That was enough to start planning. The plan was handed over to Arden who took it to Elder Edward. That same day, Valerie had her measurements taken for the wedding dress. Valerie had thought the wedding dress would be made outside the house; maybe in a fashion house or shop but surprisingly, Leonard had made everything available in the house. "You can have your first fitting in a few days," the person in charge told
"Valerie has said a lot about you," Elora continued. "She doesn't get close to people or talk about them. For her to talk about you, she must like you a lot. And whoever my friend likes, I also like."Arden rolled his eyes, mimicking Elora's last sentence. He kind of likes their friendship though. They both look out for each other and let others know how much they love themselves.Leonard likes him too; he knows that. He also looks out for him but he can be so unpredictable.Today he is very nice and tomorrow he is like a totally different person.Arden sighed. He can't blame him though. Life made him so."Arden?" Ariel waved. "Come let me introduce you to my new friend, Elora."Arden moved close to them. "Hi, I am Arden, Ariel...""I know you," Elora answered. "We've met before right?""You know me?" Arden asked.Does Elora recognise him? What if Valerie cancels the wedding because of that?"You always go to the club, don't you?" Elora a
Valerie could not stop laughing. He sounded so confident and she admired that. "Isn't your Alpha ruthless?" She asked. "How could you joke with his name so easily?" Is his reputation that bad? He wondered. "Tell me more," he said, and she furrowed her brows. "You don't know about your Alpha?" H
Arden went into the house and Leonard returned to his own mansion. On his way, he could not help but think about what had happened to warrant a sudden meeting. It's been two months since he last visited them. He had only spoken to a few people on the phone to check on their activities and eve
The loud knocking on Valerie's door woke her up from her sleep. She stood up from the bed, wondering who was knocking so loudly."Who is that?" She asked, trying to hide the anger that was evident in her voice.Valerie received no reply, which angered her more. She was certain it wasn't Diana; she
"She isn't even saying anything," one of the maids snapped. "She must be guilty.""She is not," Diana insisted."Why are you even supporting her, Diana?" Bella asked A heated argument ensued between Diana and the other maids as Diana tried to defend Valerie and herself."Enough!!!" Valerie yelled.
