LOGINAfter Elora left the Moonlight Pack, Valerie stopped going to the clubhouse they always went to. She spent most of her time indoors, painting, reading, and chatting with Elora whenever she had the chance, and when she was bored, she visited every place in the Moonlight Pack they had visited together.
So many times, her father tried to make her become friends with Luella but Valerie wouldn't budge. She was comfortable with having only Elora as a friend even though she is no longer around her. She also did not feel comfortable with Luella; Valerie thinks she pretends a lot. "I think you should go out and have some fun," Elora had told her during one of their long calls. "But you are not here anymore," Valerie had replied to her. Elora was always the reason she was willing to go out but now that she is no longer here, Valerie doesn't have to zeal anymore. "I know. But please go out and have fun," Elora insisted. "You can't keep being sad because of that. I won't be happy about that." Valerie assured Elora that she would try her best, but days passed, and they were back to having the same conversation. Not only did Valerie not go out to have some fun, but she also remained indoors for a long time. "But you promised me," Elora told her. "I tried," Valerie replied. "But I couldn't bring myself to leave my room." "You just have to try harder, Valerie," Elora encouraged her. "I wish I could come back to the Moonlight Pack soon, but the Ice Pack is far away and there are so many things to get familiar with." Valerie sighed. She understands. Elora is just getting familiar with the Ice Pack; she can't leave yet. "Your dad called me, Val. He sounded so worried about you. Can you try to go out today? Or even speak to a few people." Valerie shook her head. She wasn't going to accept that. She can still remember vividly how the Pack members had treated her badly and are still treating her badly. "I am not speaking to anyone here, Elora. You know..." "I know and I understood you perfectly. But I still want you to be happy. How about you go to the club? Maybe..." "I tried so many times, but when I got to the gate, I went back." Elora sighed. What can she do to make Valerie happy? She was worried that if this continued, Valerie would go back into her shell. "How about I call the driver to pick you up today?" Elora asked. "I do not think I want to go," Valerie said and that ended the conversation. Elora decided to speak to her about something different. Although she wanted her friend to go out and have fun, she wasn't going to force her into doing it. They talked for a while before the call ended. Valerie decided to take a stroll and maybe visit her father; she doesn't want him to be too worried about her. She changed into more comfortable clothes, picked up her phone, and then left the room. Valerie met a few maids on her way out of the Pack house. A few of them greeted her, while others ignored her. Valerie ignored them too and went to the training ground. She decided she was not going to visit the places she had visited with Elora, but instead went to places she had never visited. She met some warriors practicing. Those who recognized her greeted her and those who did not just kept staring at her strangely. Surprisingly, Valerie felt happy watching them. She found a spot and then sat down. She took pictures and sent them to Elora, telling her she had found a new interest. By the time Valerie left the training ground, she had one thing in mind: to become a warrior too. She visited her father to tell him what she wanted to do. "I don't want that for you," her father told her. "Being a warrior is stressful." Valerie insisted that was what she wanted and her father had no option but to give in. "But on one condition," her father told her. "I don't want you to remain indoors. Go out, have fun, and stop making me worry about you." Valerie assured her father that she would stop staying indoors and try to make friends. "But I can't assure you that they will make friends with me." Her father nodded. For as long as his daughter comes out of her shell and is happy again, he is satisfied. Valerie left her father's place and instead of returning to her room, she joined the rest at the dining table. Everyone was surprised to see her but they said nothing about it, except Luella, who could not keep shut about it. "I did not expect to see you here." "Well, I am here now," Valerie answered. Before dinner was served, Luella tried to start a conversation with Valerie but she was turned down politely. "So rude," Luella mumbled. Dinner was served and they went on to eat. Valerie left the table before the others, but did not go back to her room. She went on a stroll down the street instead. Valerie walked in silence for a while with a lot running through her mind. She was beginning to think whether her decision to become a warrior was a good one and if they would accept her or treat her like others do. They must know about her curse. She thought. What if they stay away from her? Becoming a warrior would be difficult. Valerie's phone began to ring, jolting her out of her thoughts. It was Elora calling; she picked it up. "Val, I might not be able to speak to you for the next few weeks," Elora said. "Why?" Valerie asked. "My dad wants me to learn the Pack rules and also go to council meetings with him," Elora answered. "I might also be traveling with him in a few days." Valerie groaned. If Elora gets busy, what is she supposed to do? But she can't stop Elora from doing what she is supposed to do. She sighed. "For how long will that be?" "You mean when we are going to return?" Elora asked. "I am not sure of that. But I will try to get in touch as soon as I can." Valerie nodded. "I will be expecting your call soon." After the call ended, Valerie returned to the Pack house. She saw Luella lurking around. She seems to be on a call, which she ended the moment she saw Valerie. "What are you doing over there?" Valerie wanted to ask but she decided against it. "Hi," Luella mumbled. "Hi," Valerie waved back. "Do you ever go out?" Luella asked. "Like clubbing? Don't you ever get bored?" "I do not get bored," Valerie answered. "You..." "Good night, Luella," Valerie ended the conversation. Luella was angry that Valerie cut her short. She wasn't trying to be friends with her because she wanted to but because her father insisted. "Whatever," she mumbled before entering the Pack house too.The few days spent in the southern Waterfall Pack were awesome for both Valerie and Audrey. For Ariel, it was a stressful one; she had to deal with work as well as help with the planning of the festival.Although Valerie and Audrey helped out, they spent most of their time visiting places and having fun. They met with other Alphas' daughters; most of them were from the southern hemisphere so they did not know her as the Luna of the Fire Pack, which was a good one.Valerie met Claire, Arden's twin. She recognized Valerie which was a surprise to her."Arden told me a lot about you," she told Valerie. "It's good to finally meet you in person.""It's good to meet you too, Claire. I only heard about you some days ago.""Let me guess," Claire said. "Ariel told you about me." Valerie nodded. "I knew it. Arden would never talk about me. He doesn't love me. Only Ariel does."Valerie smiled. "Maybe he does.""Enough of Arden. How are you? How are you enjoying the Fire Pack? Leonard is not bully
"You need to be careful though," Alpha Jason said. "Try to avoid Luella as much as you can. She might want to provoke you. You can't let anyone know you are the Moonlight Pack Alpha's daughter."Valerie nodded. "I won't.""And you can't let anyone find out about your marriage to the Fire Pack Alpha either."Valerie nodded again. "I won't.""It's good to see you though," he said. "Hope you are good? He isn't mistreating you, is he?"Valerie shook her head. "He's been nice to me.""Good to hear that. You should head back. If I have any news, I will get in touch with you."Valerie stood up. "Thank you, Jason. Thank you so much."Alpha Jason smiled. "Come on, you're my cousin, and my mom loved you so much when she was alive. If I don't take care of you, she might appear in my dream to beat me up."They laughed and Valerie left the garden. On her way back to the Packhouse, Valerie's mind was troubled. She doesn't know what exactly is going on and that scares her.One minute she thinks that
Valerie and Ariel spent two days in the northern Waterfall Pack before leaving for the southern Waterfall Pack with Audrey. For those two days, Valerie had nothing to do. Although she assured Audrey's father that Leonard would do nothing, he was scared and prevented her from going out of the Packhouse. "There are a lot of fun things in the Packhouse," he had told her. "If you need anything Audrey and Miss Ariel can get them for you." Valerie suspected Leonard must have threatened him to keep her but she had no proof. So when they were finally leaving, she felt happy; she finally got to live as herself not as Leonard's Luna. Valerie was certain none of the southern hemisphere Alphas knew her as the Luna of the Fire Pack, which would make things easy for her. With them no longer at the northern Waterfall Pack, Audrey is also not obligated to watch or keep her safe. Valerie was so happy that she could not stop smiling, and that got Audrey's attention. "You look really happy
"I will speak to..." They heard a knock on the door. "Who's that?" Valerie asked."It's Ariel," Ariel answered. "Can I come in?""Sure, you can," Valerie said.Ariel opened the door and walked in. "Did you switch off your phone?" Valerie nodded. "I think you should turn it on. Leonard has been calling me. He said he called you. It rang a few times and then it stopped going through."Valerie picked her phone up from the table and turned it on. She realized she had some missed calls. Only one was from Luella. The other two were from Leonard. She had two messages too.Valerie groaned. Did she mistake Leonard's name for Luella's? What if Leonard punishes the Waterfall Pack because she did not pick up his calls? She was still contemplating whether to call him or not when he called. She stared at the phone and then at Ariel. Ariel nodded and Valerie picked up the call. She had thought Leonard would shout at her but he did not."Are you okay?" He asked in a very calm voice."Y-yes, I am," Va
Maybe she wasn't even cursed in the first place, and her fear and others' fear are the real issues. After Elora's incident, Valerie never tried to swim, nor spoke about it.Although she wasn't sure if the same would happen again this time, she isn't going to take chances."I am not scared of water but I do not want to learn how to swim either," she said."But it's fun. You will..."Ariel pulled Audrey by the hand slightly and whispered. "That's enough, Audrey. Don't push further."Ariel could not say why but she could tell Valerie was hurt; maybe from her past experiences with water or the experiences of others with it.Audrey sighed. "I guess that ends the conversation."Silence lingered among them, everyone lost in their separate thoughts.Ariel wondered how bad Valerie's experience was that she doesn't want to learn. Audrey wondered how they were supposed to have fun if they wouldn't be swimming. Valerie on the other hand, wondered if her reaction had spoiled the fun."How about we
"Hi," the man waved again. "You're Miss Elora's friend right?"Valerie nodded. "You know Elora?"The man nodded. "I do. She's one of our great customers. She always gets this candy for her best friend, which I guess is you."Valerie smiled. The candy Audrey is talking about is actually the same candy Elora always gets for her.Does Elora have to fight her way to get them just like Audrey is doing?"I...""Are you here to get packs of candies?" The man asked.Valerie nodded. "My friend here likes it."The man nodded and left. He returned a few minutes later with some packs."You can have them.""I can?" The man nodded and Valerie smiled. "Thank you.""Have you heard from your friend? I heard she no longer stays in the Moonlight Pack."Valerie nodded. "She stays in the Ice Pack. I will let her know you asked after her.""Please do," the man answered. "I have to go now."After the man left, Valerie gave Audrey two packs and she jumped happily."This is the first time I got two packs. Tha
Valerie woke up very early to get ready for her journey to the Fire Pack. She needed to leave the Pack before most of the Pack members were awake, or she might be blamed again for leaving when the Pack is in trouble. She packed a few clothes, snacks, and a few bottles of water. She wasn't sure how
Just like Valerie's cousin, Alpha Jason had promised, her father was sent to the Starlight Pack for treatment. Valerie felt relieved knowing that her father would receive the best care. Her father wasn't the only one sent for treatment. A few other Pack members who were injured were sent too. With
Valerie furrowed her brows. What could be going on? Is there something she is supposed to know?Seeing how confused Valerie was, Luella decided to explain things to her."There are four powerful Packs," she began. "The Fire Pack, the Ice Pack, The Crescent Pack, and the Blackcrown Pack."Valerie no
Valerie could not stop thinking about the Beta's words. Why were they attacked in the first place? Who attacked them? These are the questions she needed answers to, but there wasn't anyone to answer them. The Beta had returned to her father's room after giving her the information. She also returned
