Chapter 19 Compensation For That Night

The room became so quiet that Penny and Caleb could hear the ticking of the clock on the wall.

For the second time that day, Caleb thought he was hallucinating.

‘She called me ‘Hubby’ because she mistook me for someone else?’

The light from the crystal chandelier shone on the side of her face and she continued to explain. "I don't remember what happened that night. I believe that Mr. Fergerson probably forgot as well. I’m terribly sorry for mistaking you for my husband.”

‘We’re all grown-ups. Besides, it’s Susan Langham's fault for what happened that night. He’s not the one to blame nor should he take responsibility.’
