Chapter 07

Alpha King

I must’ve been bewitched. Or maybe, it’s because I haven’t had a nap but whatever it was, I am dumb by welcoming Victoria Stephens in our kingdom.

Damn. That woman is a pain and my urge to kill her protests. It kills every control that I have built inside of my heart. A bug trying to crawl into my life.

“ She’s making a scene,” Alpha Riley muttered as he sense what I’d been sensing for a minute now. He smirked, and I hated him for it.

Being a werewolf is almost the best thing in the world. You can read minds, hear from afar or sense everything that is happening within your radius. And right now, I’ve been hearing her cursing us in my own room. Her high-pitched voice and her little curses, as if it will save her from what we’ve been planning to do.

Alpha Zach looks too bored to dwell in our breakfast. Of course, we are eating like humans. It’s how we accommodate their lifestyle. Some call us the modern werewolf. Those who dwell in the life of humans without knowing that they are just one bite away. One snatch away to be our meal.

“ She’s feisty,” Alpha Zac chuckles to himself as we heard how she fucking cursed us and threatened us. She even has the guts to tell us that she can kill us all using her own hands.

However, she’s wrong. Victoria Stephens is wrong about everything.

She’s merely a warrior. One of us can easily kill her and return her unrecognizable to their pack.

Alpha Riley burst on laughing as we sense her trying her luck to escape the place. The thing is, it will only be us who know the layout of this house. The design made it impossible to memorize unless you’re the one who build it. The design aims for security and power.

No one can get out and get in unless we are permitted to. I mean, no one. Not even her.

Alpha Riley cannot help it, he stand from the couch and made his way in her direction. I watch how playfulness paints over the expression on his face.

“Don’t scare her,” I said which clearly became an unnoticed warning because as far as I remember Victoria Stephens doesn’t have big-wide eyes and she wasn’t that pale either.

Alpha Riley is holding her neck as he motions for her to occupy the seat around our table. The dining table where our breakfast is served for this morning. Alpha Zac made it possible for us to eat our meal with his extraordinary talent in cooking. Such a wonder where he has been getting that kind of skill when all he can do is disregard bodies out of mercy.

She gently sits without any words coming out of her trembling lips. Alpha Riley patted her head as he occupies the seat beside me. A grin is plastered on his face and it tells me that he clearly did something on her.

“Have a meal,” I gestured at her, offering the food in front of us. She remains unmoving. Her eyes are almost popping out of her face and all of the courage that she had earlier when she was cursing us seems to be taken away by the wind.

I hardly glance at Alpha Riley who only grins and shrugged his shoulder, not commenting on anything.

A chuckle escaped Alpha Zach’s lips as he drinks his beer. Yeah, he’s weird enough to drink beer in the morning.

I shook my head and contemplate touching her hand. Another skin-to-skin connection and I might lose my control over her.

“Victoria?” I asked roughly, tapping the table in front of her. She gasps and she look lost as her eyes turned sideward, finally setting her gaze into mine.

But then, it was just a moment because she felt too scared to welcome my gaze. “H-He….”

She cannot finish her words as her gaze landed on Alpha Zach, then to Alpha Riley who is obviously amused and then her little wide-eyes landed into mine. I raise my brow waiting for whatever she has to say.

“ What?” I asked. What did he tell her?

She shudders and fuck it for I wanted to just touch her skin. But when my fingers grazed her skin, she moves completely away from me. My hand felt empty with the distance that she just built between us.

It made me clench my teeth. And inside my heart, I felt utterly shocked that she avoided my touch. No woman has ever made me feel worthless like this. No one has ever avoided my touch.

I heard the two alpha chuckles from what happened. One of them almost choke on his beer and I needed to exhale to calm myself from tearing this kitchen into oblivion.

My eyes are tightly shut as I remember that Victoria Stephen is not my woman. She’s just collateral damage and someone who needed to be killed once our plan for Alpha Vladimir was successful.

I cannot kill her right now. No. That would be a hole in the plan but when I opened my eyes, I saw her standing up and getting away from me.

Alpha Riley chuckles as he pointed my eyes. “ Someone’s getting punished,” he taunted and I just notice that my eyes have been transforming into a different color.

I was really pissed and the little wolf had the gut to take a step away from me.

“ Where are you going?” I asked when I saw her turning around and taking a step backward. She’s getting on my nerves and I don’t like it.

I gritted my teeth. “ Take one more step and you’ll regret it, Victoria,” I warned, my lips are curling into a smirk as I watch her body trembles with my warning.

That’s right, little wolf. Be scared, for I like the smell of your fear.

I was waiting for her to quietly sit down but indeed, Victoria Stephen is not an ordinary woman.

She’s really something as I saw her run away from me. Alpha Zach and Alpha Riley laugh at what she did but I was expecting this for her.

My little wolf wanted to play a game and who am I to deny her what she wants? Carefully, I let her run in her own will and watch her disappear from my sight.

This is a game that she insisted and she already knows what is waiting for her when I catch her.

“ I think you have a mouse to catch, Alpha King. Really feisty, huh?” Alpha Riley mentioned while biting his sandwich.

Indeed, she was feisty, and that is what makes this hunt more interesting. I get the beer and walk from whatever hallway she’s getting at. I can still hear her little feet trying to run away from me. Her heavy breathing and the loud pounding of her heart.

Too bad, I cannot see her expression. I love too see her scared as she tried her way to escape from me.

“ Run, little wolf. Make sure I’ll never find you,” I shouted and chuckles when I hear her running for more.

Run, little wolf. Because when I find you, I don’t know what I might do.
