Chapter 2: Decisions

Cayden

I was listening to what Ty and Addy were telling me before they showed me everything about what really happened that night, I was shocked and dumbfounded. I looked at Allison touching her face before she felt pain, she actually thought I couldn't touch her, but I knew that pain, and I felt it before, it was the betrayal of a mate. The blood leaking from her nose scared everyone, I panicked and felt her pain so I took my golden dagger and went to find Bradley. Michael stayed with Allison as Ty and Addy followed behind me when I heard the moans coming from the room. "That son-of-a-bitch," I yelled, I barged into the room and dragged the woman off of Bradley and was about to stab him before Ty stopped me and said, "You can't, you will all die, we need to unlink all of you from the spell first. Then you can kill him for going along with Erik's stupid plan." Addison said, "Something is wrong with that spell, how could Erik do this?" After seeing Allison in pain trying to fight the forced bond with Bradley, she felt bad that Eric would do this to his daughter.

Bradley passed out and Addy looked at the woman and said, "You're a witch," before Ty grabbed her and said, "Who sent you?" He was holding back his counterparts so as not to scare her off but he was desperately trying not to kill her, he hates anyone who tries to hurt his family and Allison is his daughter. She said, "I can't say" before Ty smiled and said, "Do you know who I am a witch?" He entered her mind, showing her who he was and she opened her eyes shocked, and said, "Sorry, my lord," before his vampire bit into her, getting the information we needed. He didn't kill her but she was unconscious before ordering my men to take her to the cells. He looked at us and said, "Esmerelda," ordering everyone to find her now, I stopped him and said, "She is our link to bringing Roman down, leave her for now." He eventually backed off from having her arrested, maybe she was the key to killing Roman.

I followed Addy back to the room where we discussed what to do next, I didn't like the idea of what they had planned to suppress the bond but it was the only way to help me and Allison and I was going to hear Ty out on this one. I was foolish to think that she would have hurt me the way that she did, I should have listened to her or at least given her the right to explain. I feel like a total idiot now knowing that Erik did what he did, the man hated me so much that he chose to sacrifice his daughter just to hurt me. He is what you call a piece-of-shit, and gets the worse Father of the Year award. Thank the goddess he is dead now or I swear that I would be feeding him to the trolls. I look at Allison sleeping as her mother looks on, and my heart skips a beat, I love her so much and I hate that we will have to be apart for now. I promise that I will watch over her and make sure that she is treated right in my absence, so Bradley will be on a leash in my book.

Addy

I looked at my daughter who was sleeping and Ty called us into a room with Cayden and Michael along with Aidan on speakerphone. Elijah was also in the room, as Ty explained, "I have an idea how to break the spell, but it is going to be a sacrifice for a while until we can truly reverse it, but it will unlink you guys for now," he said. "That way she won't feel any pain and neither will you, Cayden, but do you guys trust me?" "Of course," Cayden said and listened to what Ty had to say, Ty said, "The witch knew about a spell to unlink a mating bond temporarily, but with you and Allison, it may have an effect because you are King, and, technically, she is your Queen." Cayden said, "Fuck that, I can't lose her;" "It will be temporary," Aidan said, "Until we find the spell the witch used and the correct ingredients, we don't want to make a mistake and cause more harm, so until we can reverse it, we need to tread carefully or find the dark witch and kill her."

Allison walked in and said, "Do it," and looked at Cayden with tears in her eyes as he walked to her and said, "We don't know the consequences, my love." "I know but you will save me, I know you will," they kissed and we turned away, except Ty who had a smile on his face until I knocked him alongside his head and he said, "Ouch, babe our daughter is suffering, I'm glad to see her smile," I turned to him shocked, "Our daughter?" he smiled, "Yes, I'm her stepdad," and Allison said, "No, you are my dad," and hug him. The decision has been made to suppress the mating bond temporarily between Cayden and Allison, so I got the ingredients by mixing them as Ty had Lexi join us for the spell.

Allison

I watched everyone get ready and I was waiting for my mom to help with this spell, I called Ty my dad as he loves me and my mom and has treated me like a daughter ever since my father betrayed us and was killed. There were markings on the floor looking like a pentagon and we had to stand on them and had a piece of cloth that symbolized our bond wrapped around our wrist. Cayden smiled and said, "I love you," and I said the same before we kissed, he linked me and said, "When this is over, we will take a long vacation," I smiled and hoped that this work and we won't hurt each other no more until I am truly free away from Bradley, I despised him for doing this to me. As the chant started, Ty was giving his energy so it wouldn't fail, the room got cold as the wind picked up, the faded mark on Cayden's neck started to burn and we both screamed, the cloth unwrapped itself and I felt our bond fade. As the room temperature went back to normal, I looked around the room before I passed out.

I woke up to see my mother next to me feeling light-headed, so I cleared my throat and my mother turned to give me a glass of water from the nightstand. I asked her "Where am I?" and she said, "Aidan's mansion." I said, "Oh right Issy's wedding," she said, "How are you feeling?" I said, "Great, where is my husband?" I turned to see King Cayden and said, "Your grace," before bowing, he looked sad and asked, "What do you remember?" I said, "I was with my husband before he went to the bathroom but that's it." Mom said, "Do you remember your mate?" and I said, "Bradley, of course, why? Is something wrong with him?" Bradley walked into the room and said, "My love, where were you?" He kissed me as Cayden left the room, my mother looked sad but I was happy that my husband was okay.
