Chapter Two

' The new Duke of Batternberg is too young to control a duchy ' is what everyone said . But the duke single handedly killed a whole forest full of monsters at the competition between nobel families last year , which is held every year to decrease the number of monsters near the capital . 

This so called monsters are said be easy to defeat even for a newbie knight . But if you run into them in a group , you have to be a silver medal knight to return with your limbs attached . This monsters don't really have any kind of magic powers to be wary of , but their physical strength is enormous . When they are in a group they are very strong and dangerous . 

In the compitcompe held near the capital no one go without a knight squad accompanying them . But duke Harren Battenburg went to this hunt with only two footmen as his companions and returned victorious by defeating all the monsters in the forest with the shortest time in the empire's history. The other families could not believe his strength even after watching it first hand . 

But everyone have to acknowledge him when he returned from the forest of hell perfectly fine .

The emperor started to fear him and send him to the border to do a full servey and eradicate the monsters all around the empire .

The duke didn't say anything and quietly left on the journey with few of his trusted knights. As he was taught through out his life to trust and serve the throne of the empire , just like his father , the previous duke .

When he reached the Cutron village he was already tired by the last 6 months of monster hunt , which was mostly done by Harren himself . When he heard of a bar only for relaxing he went there without a second thought .

But when the performing girl started singing he looked up and couldn't took his eyes off of her .

Her voice was just mesmerizing , it soothed the depth of his soul . He felt like he was getting bewitched , but the girl was definitely human , or maybe he's seeing things now . Her soft voice wrapped the whole place with a warm embrace , which was really comforting . He couldn't focus on the song but still his head is getting clear and all the exhaustion is leaving his body . She is still singing at her own pace . It feels like she is the only one in this land who is awake . 

At last she looked his way and her jewel green eyes were as beautiful as her voice . More like it suits her . Her silver hair over her shoulder is reflecting the moon light in the small room of this pub . Her smile at the end was like out of the world . Harren remembered her smiling face over and over again in his heart . His companions were worried when he was still sitting there even after the closing song . 

" My Lord , is everything alright ?" one of the knights eventually asked him .

" Hmm..why? " Harren was quite surprised by the sudden question .

" No I mean you were just sitting there my Lord . "  the knight was sweating right now .

" It's alright , let's leave . You all should rest ." Harren still looked back wanting to see her one more time . But no luck....

For the first time the duke Harren felt something deep inside him and he thought to himself ' I love her' .

He felt a little chill by her voice earlier . It's definitely LOVE!
