KAELYN
‘Your vision,’ Kaiven had said. The lights went off. I sucked in a deep breath. ‘Your senses,’ Sticks hit hard against drums. Loud. Too loud. ‘Speed,’ A blow hit me from the corner. I didn't even hear start. I staggered forward, pain shooting right through my system. ‘And lastly, stamina.’ My weight shifts before I could hit the ground and I took a deep breath. I have it all. I could win. I had to win. The first noise came through the shadows. Iet my eyes adjust to the darkness and before a punch could fly aimlessly into my face, I threw mine. Bones scrunched up underneath my fists, blood spurred out from whatever I'd punched. I heard a scream but I don't wait to check who it's coming from. We are eight in the ring and at five minutes, this would end. I just needed five minutes. Just five. Four. Three. A punch hit my stomach, hard. So hard I’m up one moment and on the ground the other. A hand grabbed my head, pulling from the ground and throwing me against the nearest wall. A former fang. They'd studied this place. They know every nook and cranny. Two. A punch flew towards my face but my reflexes are fast as my right hand blocked it. It's hard. So hard it sent tremors down my arm. I had to time to groan in pain as it threw a counter punch, landing it on my opponents face. Blood blinds his vision and he staggered backwards. I raised my legs, kicking him backwards. He hit the ground hardly, while I climbed above him, landing a head to head punch. He went limp. I can barely see, but I know he's fainted. I gulped, scrambling to my feet. Others are still fighting. So I'm careful not to make a single sound and draw attention to myself in the ring. It's a blind fight, so it doesn't depend how many people you fight. It depends on how many went down and how much are still standing. One. Fifty seconds. Forty. Thirty. It's dark. It's too late when my eyes catch a wolf lunging towards me from the darkness. “Ah!” A scream tore out from my throat as his teeth, precise and calculated, tore into my skin. I couldn't push it off. No. Twenty seconds. Ten. He's tearing me. Nine. Five. I heard the sound of a stab and the wolf went limp, releasing my arm. Blood spluttered from it. I went mute. Knowing whoever was with the weapon could turn back and kill me. Two seconds. Blue eyes. One. “Time's up.” The lights went on. And yes, blue eyes stared right back at me. “Are you okay?” His voice was thick. “I'm…fine.” I'm not. His eyes fell to my arm and he bends down, ripping off a part of his inner uniform. “You are not fine. Look, you are bleeding.” “I heal fast.” I cut him off. His eyes stared at the wound he is tying up ands it already closing off. “Alpha?” He asked. “No.” I muttered, getting up to my feet. “I didn't think anyone could heal ‘that’ fast, as a normal wolf.” Yes, I knew that. It was like a gift to me, just like yesterday, my legs already healed up at the clinic before I woke up. Wolves had the ability to heal fast. Alpha wolves more. But sometimes, even I, heal faster than Kaiven. Those times, when father stared at me, my blessings felt like a curse. “Prospect.” Commander Stone's voice was heard as he walked down the cemented staircases. Students stared at those of us still standing. I felt eyes on me, probably in shock. A guy walked out from a hiding in the ground and I'm totally shocked to the bones. He survived, that meant…. “Kaelyn, Finn,” Commander Stone's eyes shifted to the guy who'd hidden, “and Michael. Congratulations.” What?! All we had to do was hide?! You get into a prospect level by hiding? “It was because he hid, that was why you had two opponents.” Finn, the blue eyed guy laughed. It wasn't funny. I almost died! My eyes turned to the guy and my teeth chattered as I fisted my hands. I wanted to punch him. I'm barely holding it in, but that's what I want to do so bad. So so bad. How could he? “Alpha Prince Finn,” My heart stopped for a second. The blue eyed was an Alpha? “Welcome to the Alpha Prospects.” A breath escaped from my lips. I'm too stunned to speak. Instead, my fingers just loosened up as Commander Stone walked towards me, “You find a way to break my expectations.” I didn't think he had any expectations. I knew he was expecting me to fail. “But you got to the highest rank in two days.” “Finn did too.” “He's an Alpha.” Commander Stone, “And this other guy…was just cunning.” I gulped. “But you, Kaelyn…Altair. Everyone is stunned by you.” I looked upwards and yes, all the teachers are staring at me. A lady in particular with eyes that slanted upwards. She's pretty. Pretty enough to be mistaken for the moon goddess. “Congratulations.” Stone said and stepped backwards as Headmaster Thornhelm stood up, drawing the attention of the students. Evren…is behind him. Eyes stone cold, fixed on me. Like he could see my deepest secrets. One which he already found out. I gulped, feeling nervous under the scrutiny of his gaze. So I pulled my gaze back to Thronhelm and tried to ignore him. “New Prospects. Congratulations. You've proved yourself to be worthy of this position, by being an alpha, being a smart ass and by being…” Thornhelm’s fell on me, “courageous.” I didn't think that was the right word to describe me. Desperate is. It's a bad thing. Something that could lead to death. “With these, we welcome you to prospects rank. Where you can fully enjoy ninety percent of the benefits Storm Academy has to offer. The world out there is nothing. Storm Academy is the right place…for you or anyone to be. Welcome.” Applauses scattered round the hall and for the first time in life. I felt like I've found a purpose for myself."KAELYN “Go, go,go.” Dareth practically pushed me towards Evren as he walked down paths I'm not familiar with.“I thought you said the student council union did nothing?”! I snapped at Dareth. He smirked, “Do you really believe that?” He raised a brow. “The student council team is made up alpha's from strong packs namely Dusk watch–”“Storm bound and Moon Born Pack, I know that.” I cut him short. He narrowed his eyes and then flicked his fingers against my forehead.“Ouch.”“How dare you cut me off when I'm speaking? If you do this in public, you'd be roasted.”“I didn't what you to waste your breath, Alpha Prince.” I huffed. He smirked, “The prime alpha's beta,” he moves a tree trunk that blocked our path, “And two other kids. Calrix, smart, Soren, strong, you, I don't really know.”I twitched my lips as I looked away.“Of course, the council doesn't simply sit still. We enforce order as secret agents of Verelen.”“Dareth.” Evren called, “You keep him too much of things.”“He's one
KAELYN.The white haired guy stands up and walked out of the place, leaving me with only Dareth and Soren.Dareth leaned closer, “So seriously, the headmaster just appointed you as a vassal members of the student union.” “I wonder..” I muttered curiously, “what does the student union do?”He smirked, “Nothing in particular. We just…lounge around.”“Truthfully speaking, Evren's the one that does most around here. Why? Can you snatch his place and push him out?”“What? He's the Prime Alpha Prince. That's impossible.” I snapped.Soren’s eyes narrowed and I can tell he lost all the pleasure he might have had speaking with me before. “I see.” He muttered, pushed his chair backwards aand walked out.Dareth smiled, “So you are bad at taking jokes. Interesting.” “Was that meant to be a joke?” I asked.“Soren makes dark jokes most of the time. If you can't understand, you'd be his enemy. I think you are marked for that. Congratulations.”“That's not something to be happy about.” I scoffed.H
EVREN How she managed to get into the student council through Thronhelm is none of my business. But I clearly warned her not to and she did.I smirked slightly as I walked away from the assembly. Being in the student council, Kaelyn wouldn't expect in.“Don't,” I said quietly, my voice eerie to my own ears. Sometimes, I thought I feared myself. There were no limits to the things I could do as Alpha Prince, including asking for someone's death, but there were limits to mistakes and I could make, and, characters I could condone.Kaelyn looked at me, her eyes shifting. “What?”“Kaiven's seat is not for anyone else.”I didn't care if she was Kaiven's friend or not. Kaiven didn't tell me about her so she was a liar for all I knew. And I was going to find that out. And how…she knew Kaiven. She stuttered, “But there's are no other seats here.”I smirked, “There's a small stool outside, that's if you are really interested in joining the meeting.” I said and placed the chair back in it's posi
KAELYN.“That's impossible. From the beginning of Storm Academy when it was created by our ancestor, Alpha General Rhogar Vael, the student council had only be formed by six people. The Prime Alpha Prince, two Alphas from the most important packs as available, the prime alpha's beta and two smart kids. It's complete, we need no one else. The laws cannot be changed.”He seemed very agitated by my request.“But one of the seats are empty right now–”“The seat of Alpha Prince Kaiven cannot be taken!” He banged his hand on the desk angrily.Shivers ran down my spine, but that didn't stop me from moving forward.“Fine, I understand.” I stood up slowly, “But I can't help you if you refuse to help me.”“Kaelyn!” His voice made me halt in my tracks. I didn't turn back to look at him, but my hands slipped off the door knob.“Fine. I believe we can create a spot for you. It's impossible to take someone out of the student council but we can bring you in. But….” He walked towards me, “The moment
KAELYN I backed away from his grip, shrugging his hands off me. “I'm…fine.”He stared at his fingers for a while, before his eyes slowly pulled towards me. I had a feeling his hands must have landed on my chest due to the pull. My teeth captured my lower lip tightly. So hard that blood tasted in my lips.“If I hadn't caught you yet, you would have gotten the gravel. You might be dead already.”*Thank you for helping me.” “You look familiar.” He muttered, running his eyes through me. “But the person I know is a girl.” I chuckled. It escaped in broken sounds. “Double faces, I see.” I muttered. I felt sweaty as I placed my hands behind me. Right now, it's extremely hard to breathe.“I guess. That girl is a princess. There's no way she'd be you.”“It's an insult to think a bonafide member of Storm Academy would be a girl.” He seemed convinced. “Right.” He muttered, stepping backwards. “I'll see you, Kaelyn.”I hoped not to see him, anywhere else. But a Prospect….it's impossible. He
KAELYN “Sit down.” Mason waved at me and I slowly skipped back into my seat. “What's wrong?” Davyn asked, “Why did you suddenly hit your hand that way?”I sighed as my eyes flickered back towards Evren and he's no longer there. What?I looked around. He's not in the cafeteria anymore. That signified the end of my lunch as I rushed out of my seat and left the building. My eyes caught him as he bent down the corner and I rushed towards him, almost bumping into him.He was waiting.I blinked, “You knew I was following you?”He looked at me, amused. “Isn't that much obvious?” I bit my lips hard. “You…what you did last night –”He stepped closer to me, cutting me off. “If I were you, Kaelyn, I'd stay away from me.” He turned, about to walk away.“Who on earth do you think you are?” I fired, stepping into his front. I didn't come to Storm Academy, passed through all those hurdles to get into the highest level I could attain, only to be bullied by someone who got it easily.Of a truth, o
