Amara POV

The cafe was not my type of scene. I couldn't even remember the last time I had entered it to get so much as a drink. My personal assistant was always in charge of taking care of things like that for me. But now, everything was looking very blurry.

I looked down at my attire and heaved a sigh. I was going to do everything in my power to make sure that this madness didnt last forever. The cafe looked like a narrow silver of warmth wedged between a laundry shop and a flourist. To me, it didnt only smell like cinnamon, it also smelt like hope. The owner, a wiry woman with a tattoo of a lighthouse on her wrist, never blinked even when she recognized me.

“You can start now,” was what she said “Apron’s clean. Tips are yours.”

I nodded once. “Thank you.”

I was happy that at least, she was not trying to figure out why this very rich and successful woman was now working in her shop as a cleaner. It didnt make any sense to me and I was sure that she needed answers but she just could

Amara POVI woke up the next day to a call from my former boss. I never thought I would say such words again so soon but I guess that is exactly what I get for not doing the right thing and staying away from Liam when I still could. "Good morning ma," I rushed to pick before the call would end."Yes, Amara. I want you to come to the cafe today. You have gotten your job back." She said happily, almost unable to contain her joy. I paused before answering, trying to understand why a woman who badly wanted me to leave few days ago is now so eager to have me back in her cafe. I smiled softly at her before saying, "thats okay ma. I will be there soon." I answered before the call went down. I didnt understand what was happening but I was happy that it was. This only meant that I was going to get the opportunity to help my family out once again. I dressed up almost immediately and rushed down to the cafe. I wished I could see Micah before going there but I knew very well that my life was

I didnt know what to say to her. I had no suitable answer as to what I would do. I have dealt with a lot of things in my life but I havent dealt with an angry mob before. I had heard that it can be extremely difficult to calm such a crowd down and I knew I was about to find that out for myself."I have no idea ma," I said, accepting defeat. "And that is exactly why I think you should leave. Let me make this clear, I wont be responsible for anything that happens to you here if that mob should catch on with you." I understood her words perfectly. She didnt want me to die under her care and I could not blame her for being scared of that happening. I nodded softly, told her thank you and walked out of the office. As I apporached the door, I prayed that there wasnt an angry mob with sticks and stones waiting for me outside. Slowly, I opened the door and saw them standing outside with angry looks on their faces. I went to my bag, picked it up and walked away. No one said a word, all the

I waited for her at the back door to the kitchen. Customers were not allowed to come back there and I needed to have a little chat with her without anyone knowing. "How much did they pay you?" I asked when I saw her walking by. She halted and turned to look at me. Something about her was different. She was no longer the calm and colleected girl who had stood in the hallway when the cameras began clicking. Her eyes had gotten darker and I could just tell that she wanted something different. "I have no idea what you are talking about," she said "I dont have time to play games. I know my sister and her lover paid you to rat me out to the media. So how much was it?" "Oh no one paid me to do anything. Just the satisfaction of having to see you suffer and be embarrassed is truly all i wanted." "But why? I have no idea who you are so I am sure that I havent hurt you before." "You don't have to know who I am. All you need to know if that you took something from me, something that I cou

Liam POVI couldn’t sleep properly the whole night before. I had tried my best to just be okay with being in the shadows but I needed to see her. I needed to know what she was doing at this time and how she was fairing. I could not understand why my heart kept beating so loudly, but I knew that it wont stop till I saw her. The drive there was fast and I tried to not allow some thoughts cloud my mind. Her face flashed through my eyes and I pressed on the paddle hoping to get there faster than possible. Ironically when I finally got to her apartment building, I could not move out of my car. I sat still, hoping that she would not be so upset with me and kick me out again. Her building smelt like coffee grounds and wet concrete. The hallway light buzzes. I knock because there are still some traditions I can’t let go of, even now. For a moment, she didnt open. It was almost as if she could smell that I was the one standing at the other side of the door. When the door finally opened, sh

LiamWhen she left the stage, I could feel all eyes turn to me. There I was, a billionaire, on my knees proposing to a woman and the only thing I got in return is her walking out. I knew this was going to be the talk of the town and the whole world. No one would get over it in a long time. Ironically, I wasnt so concerned about how this affected me. I remember looking at her walking away and scouring my brain to try and figure out what I could do to make her stay. But after I found nothing, I finally picked myself from the ground and went out with my bodyguards following behind me and ensuring that nobody could take any pictures. I stared into the abyss as I wondered what exactly was happening and then I heard Jude clearing his throat. I turned to look at him and I saw that he was holding a phone. Immediately I could hear the sounds the phone made and I took it from his hand. In it was a video that had me on a glittering stage, with a steady mic and very confident voice. The camera
