"Tasha," I muttered under my breath. I havent seen her in what felt like ages and I was really tempted to run to her but her face had the same look as it did the night she left.

That appearance was enough to bring back the disappointment and pain I felt by her actions.

"What are you doing on the floor?" She asked me but I could not easily decipher the look in her eyes so I didnt respond. Instead, I looked away and wondered if somehow the would be a change in her behaviour and she would see the need to come back to me.

Asking would have made me look more pathetic and desperate than I was already looking. I had already embarrassed myself enough and I was not going to do anymore of that again.

"And who the hell are you?" Ivy asked with a sneer on her face, like she did with everyone else.

"I'm her best...," she begun to say but then took one look at me and changed it, "I'm her friend and why are you making her stay on the floor like this?"

It didnt take long before Ivy bursted out

The news hit the press in under 48 hours and the headlines read "Billionaire Heir Faces Custody Battle—Ex Accuses Him of Instability." It reached social media faster than I ever thought it would. I had expected that Liam and his family would keep something like this private but it was obvious that they just loved the attention they got from the media so much. They could not keep any information from the media even when the said information was going to potentially injure them as well. They didnt care, as long as every one else could see it and talk about them as much as possible, then they were going to make sure that they leak it to the media. I could not figure out if it was a way for them to make more money or gain more popularity but no matter what it was, it meant absolutely nothing to me and I was just pissed that they could not keep one single information from the public. Still, it was my fault that they even had what to talk about. After all, I gave them a very juicy topic o

Jenna blinked more than thrice while trying to understand exactly what I was saying. I didnt stutter when I spoke and I made sure to not laugh no matter how much she tried to make me smile. For a while, I know she thought I was probably just joking or that I didnt mean what I said but when the look on my face didnt change, she knew I meant business. Jenna looked at me, horrified that I could even say something like that to her. "You want to sue for full custody?" Jenna, my lawyer, asked, blinking. "Amara, that’s… aggressive."Of course it was and I was the calm girl who should agree to every terrible thing that was done to me without even blinking an eye lash. I should be okay with the way he was hurting me. Maybe she didnt know what Liam was going to do but I knew that his plans for me was not for good. This young man had planned to ruin my life if that was what it took to get him closer to my son and I was no fool, I knew for a fact that he would not heistate to pull my son out of

  • The Forgotten Bride   CHAPTER NINETY EIGHT

Liam did not look like the happiest person in the room when he left, but I was thankful that he did. I watched from my window as he walked away and I knew that he had already come up with a plan on how he was going to take over almost everything I had. I had unknowingly declared war with him and he was not the kind of person one would love to fight with. I went to bed that night fearing for my life and hoping that he would in no way make a drastic decision so early. I made a mental note to call Steven and give him his job back. This was the time I needed his assistance more. Now that Liam and his entire family was coming for me, I needed to have someone who I was sure would always protect my son and keep him safe. The best person I could think of for this was none other than the bodyguard who loved Micah like his own son. It also helped that he already had a thing for me. This was just what I needed and I was going to run with it till I got the guarantee that my son was safe and so

The look on my face showed that I was not prepared to say anything that would benefit him and immediately, he started shaking his head. "No, Amara no." He begged. "Liam, yes. If you want my trust in anyway, if you want me to someday be okay with you hanging around my family, then you need to leave." I said boldly. "No I came here to see my son and you cannot keep me from seeing him. In as much as you are his mother, I am also his father and I have the same right...""The same right?!" I asked while trying to hold back my laugh. "Are you out of your bloody mind? Do you really believe that after you deserted us. After you left me alone to raise that child, that you can just come in after so many years have gone by and claim to have the same rights?" I was livid. In what world did he even believe that he had the same rights as I did? In what world did he think that he even had rights to this child? He had done nothing, contributed nothing to the welfare of the boy and now, he thinks

"I am asking for a chance to make this right. I know I have badly hurt you but all I need is an opportunity to make this right. Please you cannot deny me that. People make mistakes all the time but there is always a chance for redemption," he begged. "No, you dont deserve that which you think you do and I am telling you now that I will not be subject to this madness that you are trying to do and I can assure you that you will not get a chance to speak with my son." "Our son, Amara! Our!" He yelled, almost rattling me. This was the Liam that I knew confronted his mother and ex wife. This was the Liam that was ruthless, the one I feared would come for me and my son. "I think you should leave," I said silently as I backed myself to the wall. Realizing what he had just done, his eyes soften and he moved slowly towards me. "My love, I am so sorry for yelling at you but you know you should not be scared of me. I am not the person you should fear because I am never going to hurt you. I

  • The Forgotten Bride   CHAPTER NINETY FIVE

I couldnt sleep that night. A huge part of me was busy anticipating what Liam next move would be. I should have given in when I had the chance. I should have done the right thing and accepted him to see my son when he came around. But a huge part of me thought that I could escape this, I believed that I could escape the wrath that came with him as a person. I didnt know why I believed for a second that it could actually happen that way but for some reasons I did and now those reasons were going to eat me alive. I feared how it would be when he finally came to us. The rocking chair that I sat in kept swinging as my mind wondered if he would be gentle or not with me. I didnt think he was going to be gentle but I knew he was not going to stop till he had gotten his son back. I didn’t finish thinking of the horrible things he may do to me just to get to his son when the door bell rang. No one else was home, just I and my son. At this point, I hated that I had told Steve to stay away fr
