Chapter 256

Author: Jason Chord
Malcolm's face was twisted in an excited, feral grin.

That look made Rachel and the other three women extremely uncomfortable, disgusted, and even a little fearful. They instinctively moved closer to Gideon.

On the other hand, Gideon lounged on a recliner, swirling a glass of red wine, his eyes half-closed. He didn't even spare the visitors a direct glance.

Harvey barked, "Who dared injure my adopted son? And who summoned me to Beaker Island? Kid, was it you?"

At this moment, Gideon finally opened his eyes. Glancing briefly at Harvey, he said, "Harvey, don't you recognize me?"

Harvey froze. The voice sounded familiar.

He focused on Gideon, scrutinizing him carefully before his expression shifted. "Gideon! You're Gideon Snow!"

"So, you finally remember."

"You were supposed to be dead! How are you here?" Harvey was utterly shocked.

Years ago, when Gideon was still part of the prestigious families in Goldspire, the Sunnigh Commerce Association hadn't yet risen to its current powe

Was all of this Gideon's doing? Without even lifting a finger, he suppressed Malcolm simply through his energy? For him to subdue a half-transcendent, what level of power did that make him?Harvey shivered uncontrollably, realizing that Gideon was an actual transcendent. No wonder he could claim dominion over Beaker Island! No wonder he had been so fearless earlier!Harvey involuntarily fell to his knees, barely daring to breathe. Cold sweat poured down his face like rain."You've committed countless atrocities and harmed countless lives, yet you still wish to survive?" Gideon sneered."No!" Malcolm shrieked. "Don't kill me! I'm a disciple of Daemonium Sect. If you kill me, there will be dire consequences—"Before he could finish his sentence, Malcolm exploded. His entire body was torn apart, leaving nothing intact. He was dead beyond question."Daemonium Sect?" Gideon showed no concern. "Lysander!""Here!" Lysander, who had been silently grilling meat and doing chores, hurried

"Mr. Snow!" Mose greeted."Mr. Pead, sorry to bother you again," Gideon said.Laughter came from the other end of the line. "Don't be so polite. I'm always happy to hear from you. Is there something important? Could it be about the Hackle family again?"Gideon replied, "The Hackles are nothing more than insignificant ants to me. I don't give them a second thought. What I want to ask is, do you know the location of the royal family?""The royal family!" Mose lifted an eyebrow. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, "Why are you suddenly asking about this? Don't tell me a royal family member has provoked you. As far as I know, the royal family members aren't allowed to leave their secluded territories without permission. They shouldn't have any contact with you."Gideon said, "You're overthinking it, Mr. Pead. I'm simply looking for someone. I have a friend within the royal family, and I'd like to meet her."Because of the gravity of the situation, Gideon refrained from reveali

Harvey's mind raced. But figuring out how to persuade Gideon to help him was a real challenge and would require careful planning. When he returned to Elk Manor, something felt off. The estate was eerily silent. As he walked in, he saw that it was completely empty. The elites and wealthy guests were nowhere to be found."Dad!" a shout rang out.Harvey turned toward the voice and immediately froze. Xavier was kneeling on the ground."Who did this?" Harvey roared. The lights suddenly brightened, revealing a group of people cloaked in black robes sitting in the hall. There were eight of them. Their faces and bodies were concealed, leaving only their eyes exposed. Their presence was chilling. Just one glance made Harvey's hair stand on end.Not daring to act recklessly, Harvey asked, "Who are you people? As far as I know, I have never met you and should have no grievances with you."One of the black-robed figures spoke in a raspy voice, "We're here to find our junior disciple.""J

"Father! Mother! Where are you?" Gideon called out.Late at night, he stood alone by the shore, lost in thought. With some clues finally in hand, he desperately hoped everything would go smoothly. The sea breeze blew gently. Ripples danced across the water's surface.Unbeknownst to him, Rachel was watching from the distant woods. Seeing his lonely silhouette filled her with sorrow. He was so alone. Though he stood at the top of the world, unmatched and unparalleled, he seemed utterly out of place in this world.Rachel wished so much that she could go up and embrace Gideon.Meanwhile, Harvey had already driven to the bridge. "Gentlemen, that's Beaker Island!""Get down." The black-robed men stepped out.Confused, Harvey asked, "Gentlemen, aren't you going to Beaker Island? Or should I go ahead and inform Gideon and have him crawl over to meet you?"The black-robed men didn't respond. One of them squinted and sneered, "That young man on the beach matches your description. "I see." Gideon nodded, his face growing cold. "In that case, there's no reason for Daemonium Sect to exist. I'll start with you all.""You're courting death!" The black-robed men were furious.A few of the more hotheaded among them attacked immediately, roaring as they charged."Kill!" three of them shouted as they rushed forward. However, as soon as they stepped within three feet of Gideon, a sudden chill overwhelmed them. An inexplicable fear surged through their hearts. They froze in their tracks. As transcendents, their sense of danger was exceptionally sharp. Realizing the terrifying energy surrounding Gideon, the three attempted to retreat."Time to go." Gideon uttered three words, his voice like the judgment of a god.The trio's pupils shrank in terror, their fear reaching its peak. They couldn't even breathe as immense pressure crushed their bodies, shattering their bones. In an instant, Gideon obliterated all three of them with a punch. Not a trace of their bodies re

Harvey dropped heavily to his knees. His face was pale as a sheet. Terror consumed him, and his body trembled uncontrollably, like a leaf in the wind."Spare me, sir! I was wrong! I'll never do it again! Please, have mercy!"Harvey knocked his head on the ground repeatedly, tears streaming down his face as he begged for his life.Gideon said coldly, "I spared you once, but you didn't cherish it and came looking for death again.""I was wrong! I was wrong! I was wrong!"Harvey's forehead was bruised and bloodied from his incessant knocking. Blood streamed down his face, but he didn't dare stop.Gideon said, "Give me a reason to let you live. If you can't, then you'll join the others on their way."Harvey's face lit up with hope.He cried out, "Sir, I have a secret I haven't told you yet. It's about your parents.""Oh?" Gideon raised an eyebrow.Harvey said, "From what I know, it wasn't just the Jaeger royal family that wanted to capture your parents back then. There were also

Recently, Zane left Goldspire and went to Dalhurst to lay low. After hearing about the family's crisis, he rushed back in a hurry.Zachary's face was firm, burning with rage. "That bastard, Harvey, dared to play me! Does he really think the Farrell family is an easy target? We've been rooted in Goldspire for over a century. Does he think we're that easy to topple?"Zane, you shouldn't have come back. I'm heading to Dalhurst right now, and you're coming with me!"Zane was baffled, while the rest of the Farrell family members were trembling in fear. They thought Zachary was preparing to flee."What are you afraid of?" Zachary snapped. "I'm going to Dalhurst to get reinforcements! Don't you all remember who Zane's mother is?"The younger generation of the Farrell family was confused, but the older members gasped in shock before their faces lit up with joy.Zane asked, "Dad, what are you talking about? Didn't you say Mom passed away a long time ago?"Zachary sighed. "Zane, I lied to

In the countryside outside of Goldspire, a BMW drove into Roselake Village, drawing the attention of many villagers working in the fields. This was a poor village, and cars were rarely seen. The arrival of a luxury vehicle naturally caused a stir.Gideon parked the car at the foot of the mountain behind the village. This area was remote, with only one household nearby. It was a simple house with a fenced yard where a few chickens and ducks roamed about."This should be the place," Gideon thought, his mind filled with memories. The reason he came here was related to his parents. Many years ago, when he was a child, he accompanied Peter to this very place. Peter had brought the Empyrean Atlas to consult with an elderly gentleman, seemingly for research purposes.Back then, Gideon didn't understand much and didn't think much of it.It was only recently that he remembered this person. However, so many years had passed that he wasn't sure if the old gentleman was still alive.Walkin

The old man didn't stop Gideon. Instead, he laughed weirdly from behind. "Young man, you're definitely screwed. You're getting thrown into hell.""What a nutjob!" Gideon pushed the nonsense out of his mind. The third floor didn't have many martial arts techniques, but the ones there were clearly high-level."Soaring Immortal's Blow." Gideon stumbled on one technique by chance. What surprised him was the name signed underneath—Annalise Jaeger."Did Mom create this secret technique?"He quickly grabbed the book and skimmed it. It turned out that the Soaring Immortal's Blow was incomplete. This was only a fragment of it. Even so, he could tell it was terrifyingly powerful."Mom was a badass." Gideon was seriously impressed.Annalise had left the royal family in her 20s, which meant this technique was created before that. She probably came up with it when she was still a teenager. She was a total prodigy and stunningly gifted.Edric's and the others' praise of Annalise was clearl

"It's no wonder they are a royal family. The heritage here is insane. There are so many resources." Gideon strolled through the Sutra Library, full of praise. Then, it hit him.He had built his own force, packed with world champions and elite soldiers. But in terms of martial arts resources, he had almost nothing. He lacked top-tier martial arts.He couldn't just hand out his own secret techniques. Even if he did, it would only be to his most trusted inner circle. There was no way it would be public."It looks like I need to start paying attention to this. It's time to stockpile martial arts techniques," he thought to himself. The Sutra Library had three levels. The first floor was all basic stuff. By the second, the quality shot up, and there were a few techniques Gideon found interesting. However, it didn't move him. Sure, it was interesting, but it wasn't enough. He headed toward the third floor and finally noticed an old, wiry man lying in front of the entrance."Even a pla

"That's because…" Clementia trailed off. A cold sweat broke out on her back.If she spilled that Gideon had just mentioned taking the family head position, the fallout would be huge. That was far more serious than any assault. The elders would come charging in, ready to kill."Clementia, go on.""Don't be scared, Clementia. We need him to apologize today.""The royal family cannot be insulted!"Seeing the younger generation yelling and shouting in the square, Gideon couldn't help but chuckle. "Are you all that bored? This has nothing to do with you. Get lost.""Insolence!""Arrogant bastard!"The hot-blooded youths were fired up.Gideon let out a cold snort. A sharp pressure swept over the entire square, instantly silencing everyone."You haven't trained your strength, but your mouths sure work fine. Be glad I'm not interested in the family head position. Otherwise, I'd show you what real discipline looks like."He glanced at Clementia. She immediately led Gideon away from

Gideon stared at Talia's retreating figure, lost in thought. He couldn't figure out what she was really up to.The position of the family head in the royal family was something prestigious and powerful, yet Talia was willingly handing it over. Something didn't add up.If something was too strange, there was probably a trap.Still, Gideon wasn't in a rush to leave. Since Talia had the idea to pass the family head position to him, he might as well collect some interest first. If there wasn't even a little interest, the offer had to be a fake.As he walked out of Daysia Tower, a graceful woman approached. Gideon recognized her. During the Martial Arts Tournament of the Eight Major Royal Families, she was the leader of the Jaeger royal family's younger generation. Her name was Clementia, if he remembered right."Mr. Snow, we meet again.""It's been a while. Ms. Jaeger, you've become even more beautiful.""You flatter me, Mr. Snow." Clementia smiled and added, "But it's you who des

"Then, why did you force my mother to leave?" Gideon questioned"No, no, you've got it wrong. Annie's leaving wasn't because of me. It was her choice. From the beginning, she never planned to fight me to be the family head. As soon as the struggle began, she quietly left with the Empyrean Atlas," Talia explained.Giden frowned slightly.Suddenly, Talia smiled. "Besides, if Annie hadn't left, she would've never met your father, and you wouldn't even exist, right?""I've been searching for my parents all this time. Do you have any leads?""None." Talia shook her head and sighed. "I want to find Annie just as badly as you do. But all these years, I've come up empty."Gideon, I've known for a long time that you're Annie's son, but I never made a move against you. That's because I hoped you might find her."Gideon didn't doubt this. With Talia's influence, confirming his identity would've been easy. Back when he was still weak, she could've captured or even killed him at any time.

"Wait here for me," Gideon said softly to Adrelda, then walked step by step into the main hall.Callan and the others were also waiting outside the hall. The hall was deep and imposing. Around it stood tall bronze pillars, carved with strange patterns. At the very end stood a majestic stone statue. The statue depicted a woman. It had one hand pointing skyward while the other held some kind of artifact as it gazed into the sky.Gideon instinctively guessed this was the founder of the Jaeger royal family, worshipped by generations of descendants.Beneath the solemn statue stood a throne. On the throne sat a stunning woman, upright and dignified, dressed in a lavish white phoenix robe.Gideon stopped walking. He stared straight at Talia, his expression slightly dazed.Talia looked just like Annalise—those eyes, that nose, and those brows. For a moment, Gideon thought the woman on the throne was the very mother he had longed for all these years. The hall was silent. Talia was als

Gideon stomped his foot.In an instant, it was as if he tapped into the Jaeger royal family's dragon vein. A dragon's roar shot straight into the sky."What the hell?" Callan and the others were shocked. The ancestral ground was shaking."This is bad. The dragon vein is acting up! What's going on?""Damn it!""Lady Thalia's meditating right now by the dragon vein. This will definitely disturb her. What do we do?"They couldn't wrap their heads around it. Why would the dragon vein suddenly act up?All of it was Gideon's doing. He used his inner core to link with the dragon vein, calling upon its power to boost himself.Faintly, a dragon phantom rose into the air behind Gideon."Destroy him." Gideon slowly threw out a punch. He wasn't being careless. Aside from not activating the Solar Titan Physique, he was giving it everything he had.The punch was stunning. The divine dragon soared into the sky, unstoppable.Countless bolts of lightning were instantly wiped out under the

"Thunder Tempesta Physique, huh? Yeah, it's strong. Being able to tap into nature's power is no joke." Activate it.""You know I have the Solar Titan Physique, and you're still this confident?"Oscar laughed. "This is Kitherglen. There are snowstorms and thunder rolling everywhere. This is not the best place for a solar-heavy physique like the Solar Titan Physique. However, my Thunder Tempesta Physique thrives in this."Gideon gave a calm smile. "These environmental factors can be ignored. As for whether I activate the Solr Titan Physique or not, it depends if you've got what it takes.""Arrogant fool!" Silence fell the moment those words dropped. Everyone turned to stone.Gideon just called Oscar a simp! It was insane!Adrelda's lips twitched. She was speechless but weirdly thrilled. She felt her blood pumping.Gideon was untouchable and untamed. Even the top ministers in court—Morgan, Samson, the Cabinet Elders—wouldn't dare to call Oscar a simp. As for Chase, it was even less likely for him to speak that crudely. However, Gideon had mocked Oscar ruthlessly.Adrelda loved every second of it. She looked at Gideon with newfound reverence and awe. This was what it meant to be the High Marshal—defiant and unbound. Gideon was worthy of the title."I see how it is!" Oscar was so furious that he laughed. His eyes radiated icy light and bloodlust."Marshal Snow, I wasn't at the enfeoffment ceremony. I only heard stories about your strength.
