Their conversation is interrupted by a curt knock at the door and the guard that Sir Olsson placed at the door enters. “His Royal Highness, Sir Kai, is requesting permission to –” “Let me in, Viktor! Serenia is excited for her first day of training, she barely slept a wink the entire night despite knowing being exhausted isn’t going to help her, there was nothing she could do to fall asleep. She isn’t sure what to expect for her first training but assumed it would have some physical endurance to it.The 50 laps she has been running is the last thing she expected.Sir Olsson started off her training rather harshly with 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups and now 50 laps around the yard. “Oh, you weren’t kidding,” Serenia mumbles as Harbin leads her into a large office with walls lined with bookshelves and a large oak table in the middle of the room with tons more books and instruments on top, most of the chairs covered as well. “What is this place?” she asks. “It’s my office,” Harbin answers with a giddy grin, spreading his arms wide like a child showing off his creation. Kai isn’t kidding when he says he prepared something for them in the greenhouse. There is a small round table decorated with vines along the legs and flower petals scattered on the ground. The table is filled with pastries and steamed plates, the sun glinting off the glasses. It’s like a scene straight out of a fairytale painting, something she might see in one of the many books Harbin had her looking at. She feels as if she is being treated like a princess despite her plain attire of a white cotton shirt and black-dyed silk pants, still, clothes she never imagined herself wearing but nothing close to what a princess or royalty would ever wear. Kai is the perfect gentleman by pulling her chair out and pushing her in, making sure all her utensils are safe to use and testing her food before she can touch it. Serenia awakes alone in the morning with no sign of Kai, other than the slightly crumpled sheets on one side. She prefers this, being unsure how to react after a restless night of sleeping next to each other, this way she can lay in bed for a little while before she expects Sir Olsson at her door for morning training.Washing her face quickly in the bathroom she changes into her training uniform and waits for Sir Olsson, but at least an hour passes, and no one has even come to offer her breakfast. She decides to wait a few more minutes before going to check the hall to ask a servant.She catches one rushing by the room and calls for him to stop.“Do you happen to know where Sir Olsson is?” she asks.“Oh, my lady, what are you still doing here?” he asks in a panic.She looks behind her, thinking he might be speaking to someone else, but that is ridiculous as she is the only one in the room.“Where else am I supposed to be?”“In the aura room! Hey everyone, this update is to bring some sad news. I will no longer be updating this story here as I feel as an author it is too expensive for the readers. I like making my chapters at least 3k words because I pack a lot into one chapter and I am unable to do that with a word limit of 1500-2k (to keep my chapters affordable I need to keep them between that word count). This story is dragging on because I'm trying to figure out how to keep it at a good pace while also keeping the chapters short and sweet. I'm afraid I'll either make the story too fast or as I am making it now, too slow. I am unable to find a healthy balance and this story is starting to become more of a burden than a joy like it originally is supposed to be. It will still be available on my other sites which are free to read. I would love to continue writing on here but too many times I've run into this issue with my stories and I've tried to cut down but that isn't the kind of writer I am, I'm sorry :( Please feel
