(Patricia’s POV)

“James, take a look at these items and tell me which one he would like,” I said as I handed him my tablet.

The second he saw the items on the screen, his lips curved into a teasing smile. I sighed, already regretting showing him. I knew he would tease me.

“Is there a special occasion coming up, ma’am?” he asked playfully. “Is it his birthday today? Or is this a ‘thank you for coming back home’ gift?”

I rolled my eyes. “No, it’s not his birthday, James,” I said quietly. “And can you please not tease me today?”

James laughed and shook his head softly as he looked back at the tablet.

There were three limited-edition designer wristwatches on the screen. They were luxurious, yes, but completely worth it.

I had been staring at them for a while, unable to decide which one would suit Raymond best.

He would be coming back home today after his one-week trip, and I was overly excited. I couldn’t wait to welcome him. And yes, James was right... it was a welcome-back gift

(Mason's POV)I had been pacing up and down this hallway like a restless ghost, thinking over and over about what I was about to do. Mum had given me this small bottle days ago, and I’d been waiting nervously for the day Patricia would show up at Bedford Corporation.Today, she was here, in her office. My heart pounded like it would burst. I knew this was my chance. If I didn’t act today, I didn’t know when she’d come back. It had to be today.Just then, I saw the intern walking toward Patricia’s office with a cup of coffee. I knew it was for her. I moved quickly to stop her.“You wait,” I said firmly. She stopped and turned to me, confusion flashing across her face at why I had stopped her. I cleared my throat and straightened my tie.“Is that the Chairman’s coffee?” I asked, keeping my voice calm.“Yes, sir,” she said, still looking unsure.“Okay. Give it to me,” I said quietly. “I’m heading to her office anyway. I’ll take it to her.”“Sir, I…” she mumbled, hesitating.“What?” I cut

(Lucy’s POV)“That went well, right?” my mum said softly as she settled into the couch.“Absolutely,” my dad replied with a smile as he sat beside her. “I thought convincing Mason would be difficult, but it turned out to be very easy.”“I told you. Once we blackmailed him with Patricia, he would fall for it,” my mum said.“Yes, you did, honey. You know his weakness too well,” my dad said, and they both laughed. We had just returned home from Mason’s house. He had been angry with us and had refused to see or speak to us before. But this was not the time to stay angry with family... not when everything was falling apart. That was why we decided to visit him today. We needed his help to get Patricia to sign a document. It was not just any document. It was an agreement stating that she had transferred all her 65% shares in Bedford Corporation to us.We knew there was no way she would sign the papers without reviewing them first. So we needed to drug her, and Mason was the only one who cou

(Mason’s POV)It was my father’s voice. I turned around and saw him standing there with the rest of my family. Why were they here? I wasn’t expecting them.“What the hell are you doing here?” I asked, my voice tight with anger.“You haven’t been taking our calls, and you haven’t visited us,” my father replied. “So of course we decided to come here.”I hadn’t spoken to them since that meeting... the day my father’s foolish decision cost us our shares. I didn’t even know how to face him anymore. He had brought shame on me.“I know you’re angry,” my mother said softly, “but don’t you think you’re angry at the wrong people? We are your family, Mason.”I almost laughed. Family? The same family that kept ruining my life? They were part of the reason Patricia left me. They never treated her well.My father sighed and rubbed his temples. “You’re angry about the shares, I understand. But the person you should really be angry with is Patricia.”“Exactly, Mason!” my mother added quickly. “She’s

(Mason’s POV) “Pat…” I murmured as I watched her car drive away. The tear I had tried so hard to hold back finally slipped down my cheek. I wiped it away quickly, but it did nothing to ease the pain inside me. My eyes were red. My chest felt so tight that I could barely breathe, and my heart ached deeply. I walked weakly to my car and sat in the back seat beside Liam, my thoughts racing. I had run into Patricia this afternoon at Liam's school. She had come to pick up Raymond’s child, and I had followed her immediately because I desperately wanted to talk to her. We hadn’t seen or spoken to each other since the night I fought with that traitor who stole her from me. I only wanted us to talk things through, but I couldn’t believe the things she said to me. I thought she would at least see my sincerity after I told her that Rose and Liam would be moving out. But she didn’t seem interested at all, as if it no longer mattered to her. “Have I lost her forever?” I whispered, my chest

(Patricia’s POV) “Patricia,” the voice called. I knew that voice. It was Mason’s. Why did I have to run into him today? I already had so much going on today, and now I had to face him too? I let out a weak sigh and slowly turned around. Mason stood there with his son by his side. I had forgotten that his son also attended this school. Of course, Mason had come to pick him up too. “How… how are you doing, Pat?” he asked quietly. I didn’t respond. How I was doing had nothing to do with him anymore. I folded my arms tightly across my chest and stared at him, waiting impatiently for whatever reason he had for stopping me. There was still a small bandage on his nose and a few bruises on his face. His nose had been broken that night, but it wasn’t as swollen anymore. My eyes moved between him and his son. The little boy stared at me with wide, curious eyes, as if trying to remember where he had seen me before. I had nothing against the child. He was innocent, even though his existe
