When the car screeched to a halt, I peeked outside. An enormous three story mansion greeted me with a well groomed garden and dozens of black uniformed guards parading around its parameter.
Realization set in me.
I turned to look at Adrian, who sat there quietly, too quiet to be normal. The uniforms of those guards and the tension in his posture told me whose mansion it was.
'only for you.'
His words echoed in my mind. A warmth surged through my chest.
He hated his father so much that he even couldn't stand hearing his mere name. But now, he was ready to stay under the same roof with him and cooperate.
Only for me.
Leaning in, I put my hand on his thigh. "You don't have to do this. We can go back to your penthouse. We will have your guards there. We will be fine."
Yes, I wanted him to forgive Sinister, to have a
His fingers trailed down my neck to my cleavage, leaving my skin burning in desire. My heartbeat quickened as my breathing came out laboured."You want punishment, love?" he asked in his deep husky voice.I nodded."Then why is your heart beating so fast? I can tell this anticipation isn't for the punishment. It's for something else." He brushed his lips against my jaw. The rough stubble of his against my soft skin sent goosebumps across my entire being. "Something that brings pleasure. And I can assure you, my love, punishment doesn't bring pleasure. It brings pain."His heady mascular scent, his deep voice murmuring close to my ear, his desirable lips being so close to mine and his sinful half naked frame pressing against me made me squirm underneath him."Adrian…" A whimper left me when he moved away his lips from my hungry ones.Lifting himse
Surprised, I glanced back at Adrian, whose hard gaze was set solely on his suddenly popped up cousin. And his ticking jaw told the not so good history between them. "Dominic, my boy!" chirped Sinister, patting on the almost black eyed man's back before he pulled him into a hug. "It's so good to see you here." The look on Dominic's face remained stoic, but a flicker of respect did dwell in his dead eyes as he nodded at Sinister. "What's he doing here?" A very displeased voice of my angry man rang across the room. His narrowed gaze set on Sinister, demanding an answer. "Calm down. He is here to help," replied the Russian mob boss. "Did I say I needed his help?" The volume of his voice rose. "You know his connections and ways. And to be honest, he knows my gang more than I do nowadays. So actually it's me who needs him more than anyone else over here
Stirring the coffee, I took a sip. Hours had passed and there was no sign of Adrian. He said he had to attend some important meetings via conference calls, but I didn't know it would take so long. Nor was there any sign of Laura. To kill my time, I had paraded around the mansion, face timed Chloe. I asked her to come over with the others, but she was too busy with her cafe. That girl was a workaholic. Just like her father, Tim.When I didn't have anything to do, I came to the kitchen to make some cupcakes for Adrian and a cup of coffee for me. Last time he loved my cupcakes. I knew after the punishment he gave me last night, his anger had wavered a little. But not totally. That incident still bothered him, I could tell it no matter what he showed. So I hoped these cupcakes would lift his mood a little.Blood rushed to my cheeks at the recollection of his punishment. My behind was still sore due to his delicious spa
The mighty Adrian Larsen, my boss/boyfriend, was down on his one knee before me. Those electric blue oceans were so intense that I couldn't dart my gaze away.My heart raced in my chest, my mouth went dry."A-adrian…What are you doing?"Is he going to…"Doing what I should've done a long time ago." His voice was deep, etched with grave seriousness. To my surprise, a nervousness flickered in his eyes for a moment before he composed himself. Taking my hand in his, he took a deep breath, holding my gaze."You know, the moment I saw you in that bar months ago I knew you were a trouble. A beautiful trouble that could turn my life upside down. When you teased me and I decided to chase you until you were mine, I knew you could be my destruction. But I didn't care," he said. "To be honest, I wanted that destruction more than anything. And yo
The chatters of everyone and clatters of the cutleries resonated around the ambience of the dining room, while the househelps served more dishes if needed. I sat beside Adrian, and Lilly and Maggie were on my other side, asking about my life and likes. They both were too sweet and kind for me to accept them as my own in such a small period of time. Though my official meeting with them went really well, my concern about the family reunion taking a different route still hung in the air. Because the brooding fiance of mine didn't like the not so discreet nonverbal eye communication between my future father and mother-in-law. Ever since Lilly had set foot in this house, Sinister was always around. His eyes followed her everywhere she went. And I knew the look in those familiar blue eyes very well. Adrian's eyes held the same emotions whenever he looked at me. And Lilly on the other hand stayed too alert, he
Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm my heavy breathing. I didn't let my fear show on my face just as Max said. I didn't panic. But as each minute passed, my heart sank more. Anxiety and fear for Alex's safety didn't let me concentrate on anything. It's only been two hours since Max left to find Alex. And I was already losing my mind. Adrian didn't let me out of his sight ever since Max's departure. Even when he had to attend a work call, he made me sit on his lap while doing so.Until Sinister requested him to see him in his office. Dad and Dominic were also present there. But I wasn't allowed in. And not knowing what was so important that even Adrian agreed to see his father in his office despite his dislike added more on my plate of concerns.Something huge was going on. But I didn't know what. Though the ominous feeling in my stomach did announce about the upcoming storm
As soon as I stepped out of the room, two big bulky guards standing in my way halted my steps. With faces as blank as sheets, posture erect like sticks, their gazes were set forward instead of on me."What are you guys doing here outside of my room?" I asked, confused."Mr. Larsen instructed us to guard you when you're alone, Miss," the bald one on the right, replied. Voice was as monotonous as a robot.A crease formed between my brows. He left them to keep an eye on me? Even if there were so many guards in the house? Ridiculous!I didn't see them down in the living room while I was with the ladies. But now that I was up here in my room away from everyone, they were here.He ordered me not to wander here and there alone. But it seemed like he knew the fact that I wasn't the one to obey the rules so frequently.I cleared my thr
My heart stopped in my chest, breath hitched in my throat. Every drop of blood ran cold in my veins as I stood there, frozen.L-little one? No!No, no, it couldn't be him.Oh God, please no!My legs staggered back as if they had their own minds."We meet again, little one. Didn't I tell you I would see you soon? See, I have kept my words," he said. His smooth voice with a deep edge sent a shiver down my spine.James Monet. How could I forget his voice? The voice that had ordered his men to torture me with a very sympathetic tone years ago. The sick enemy of my father.Memories of the past flashed across my mind, delivering a tremor to my chest."Milton!"At his order, the light of our backyard suddenly flashed on, blinding my vision for a moment.
