Chapter 10:A Blessing,a burden

last update Zuletzt aktualisiert: 14.02.2026 04:35:34

Days rolled into days, and Tiara continued her life of great toil and sweat.

From dawn to dusk, she did menial jobs, trying to make ends meet. Still, the people still whispered behind her back.

And though she still lived in a broken cottage behind the arena, Tiara now walked with a quiet strength in her step.

But something had undeniably changed. She started to have a series of visions which began with flickers of memories, shadows holding to the edges of her thoughts.

At first, she thought it was as a result of being overworked during the day, but then she began to see that it was way beyond being overworked.

She saw wolves she had never met, running through burning forests, their eyes glowing with desperation and fear.

She also had a vision of a child being born with the glow of the moon illuminating it.

-----

Tiara was walking by the riverside, making her way to the river to get a cold bath, very early one morning when she saw the butcher’s wife weeping alone by the riverside.

She was startled as she had never encountered anyone that early at the riverside.

"What is she doing here this early? Crying so much?" She thought, walking briskly to the sobbing woman.

"Ma'am," she called, a few steps away from the woman.

"Why are you here this early? Why are you crying? Is everything okay?" She bombarded the woman with a series of questions.

"Are you asking me if everything is okay?" The woman replied, in between sobs.

" What sort of question is that when it is no news that my husband passed away," she said before turning her face towards Tiara's direction.

Tiara's eyes widened in shock, "But....but..I still saw him yesterday before heading home. How is he dead this morning?" She managed to ask, out of panic.

And just then—

Low rustling was heard behind her, making her shift her gaze towards the direction where the noise came from. Goosebumps were now visible on her body.

After observing for a few seconds, she turned to the woman and, to her surprise—

There was no one by the riverside, it was only her, she was all alone by the riverside.

"What is going on?" She moved backwards, almost not believing her eyes.

"The butcher's wife was right here a few....." She paused before looking around, out of fear.

Three days after this, the butcher died in his sleep.

-----------------

Sometimes the visions came in dreams, vivid and painful, shaking her awake in the middle of the night, making her breath shallow and her heart racing.

Other times, they would flash through her eyes and head in the middle of her chores—unpredictable and unavoidable.

After so many occasions , she started to keep a small notebook beneath her pillow.

In the quiet hours of dawn and whenever her sleep was cut short by the visions or dreams, she would scribble down what she could remember: a face, a phrase, but even then, some dreams slipped through her grasp like water, slipping through fingers.

---

One morning, while sweeping the front of an old building that served as an inn, she suddenly paused, her hands tightening on the broom. A sharp image burst through her mind like lightning across the sky:

A young girl was drowning in a well, and a red scarf, floating just above the surface, her voice muffled beneath layers of earth and water.

Tiara dropped the broom and ran desperately.

She followed the image through the winding alley, following in the direction where her legs took her.

She carefully observed as she ran and to her dismay, it was beyond the edge of the market. Her feet continued to move with instinct, not reason, until she reached a crumbling old well near the arena’s edge.

“Help!” came a faint, yet, frantic cry.

"Please, help me,"

The scarf, just as she had seen in her vision, her eyes caught on it.

Without hesitation, she screamed for help, drawing the attention of nearby workers and residents. Together, they pulled the child out of the well, all soaked, and barely conscious.

After saving the child, no one bothered to ask her how she knew. Some stared in awe, some with suspicion and curiosity in their eyes.

By the next day, whispers and rumors began to circulate once more.

---

“Did you hear about yesterday's incident?”

“I heard that she is cursed, and that she sees death, way before it comes.”

“Maybe she is a witch.”

“We do not know anything about her aside from the fact that she wandered in here, all tattered.....

Tiara walked by the people who were gossiping and at that instant, the murmurs died down and the gift that once felt like a blessing began to feel like a burden.

"I just hope that all of these dreams and flashing visions do not eventually land me in a boiling soup of trouble," she prayed in her heart, walking away like she did not hear the gossip and talking about her.

She continued to have dreams and visions. However, some visions she forgot, and some she remembered.

No matter how hard she tried, some dreams usually dissolved in the morning, leaving her with only the ache of knowing she had seen something important, something she was meant to remember.

She wondered if the woman from her dream—the glowing one who gave her an apple-knew how heavy this gift would become.

Yet despite the exhaustion, despite the fear, her gift of sight continued to wax stronger and clearer.

Tiara watched as Edwin staggered towards the door. Her heart softened at the sight of it.She quickly stepped closer, tugging at his clothes. She then spoke in a steady voice which was eerily calm."Edwin!" She called, reaching out to him."I know that you must think I enjoyed speaking doom over you but, I speak nothing but the truth," she softly saidClearing her throat, “she is going to try to take your place, Edwin. Not just as Luna, but as the Alpha. She wants control over the pack, over the lands, and over everything your father died protecting,”She paused, letting the weight of her words settle like fine particles of sand.“And she definitely will succeed…and that will happen if you do not stop her.”Edwin felt like he could not breathe. His pulse thundered in his ears. Every meeting, every hollow promise, every fake smile and moment with Vanessa suddenly flashed through his head. They all seemed calculated."When you knew that she could be stopped and that she was this evil, w

Edwin stood frozen, his voice became barely audible as he stepped closer to the Seer. His eyes were filled with a mixture of desperation and confusion. They were locked on Tiara, still unable to fully grasp the weight of the moment."I... I need your help," he began with, his voice slightly cracking. "My pack, Tiara. It is on the brink of falling apart." Sadness could be detected in his tone.'My Luna, Vanessa...she... she has had a couple of miscarriages and it is really causing more than enough chaos. I feel that something out of the ordinary is playing out. She acts like a psychopath sometimes, and other times, she is normal," he explained." I can feel it, deep within me that she is hiding something too. I had to think of a way to come here alone so that I would be able to talk to you freely, I did not even expect that you would be the seer,"" I am here to seek your guidance. I do not know what is happening, but... I am losing control."Tiara's lips curled slightly as she turned

The Scarlet Pack was way quieter and peaceful than Edwin had expected.Situated between hills of crimson-streaked rocks and evergreen trees, the settlement felt strangely reverent as if even the wind knew to move carefully. The Seer’s dwelling was not grand like he had envisioned and thought of it. The old cabin was still as it was, only with a little renovations here and there. Dozens of offerings of flowers, coins, fabrics, and food lined the path.“She lives alone,” the escort from alpha Zach explained. “but the strange thing is that she takes no visitors unless summoned, but she suddenly agreed to see the Alpha of Dark Moon.”"Hmm, I see," Edwin replied, observing his environment.Stopping at the door, the escort insisted that Edwin went ahead. “The Seer’s powers are real, my lord. I think it would be a safer and more accommodating environment for you if you go inside alone. You will be free to discuss your issues with her,” he said with a confident smirk.Curious as to why the es

Just like the guard had thought, he came up with a way to get to Vanessa."Do you think that this would work?" One of Vanessa's personal maids asked him."In all sincerity, it is not like I want to do this but for the alpha's sake," "Why would you say such a thing, Alma?" The guard scolded."The last time I tried to talk to her about it, you needed to see how she chased me out of her room. Like I was a dog or something," she explained, still adamant."I know how she can be but if we are being fair too, you approached her when she was in a very bad mood. You should have read the room before telling her about something like that," he said."Whatever, but just so you know, this is the last time I will do this," she said before stomping away."Hmm," he deeply sighed."I hope it we get fruitful results this time."------------The air in the Alpha's quarters was thick with tension.Alma walked with so much caution as she approached the Luna's quarters, she was unsure of the step she was a

  • The Gifted Luna    Chapter 12: The Reckoning and the Rise

The arena was dead silent.A training accident, they called it. It had happened that a rare spearhead had dislodged from the ceiling where it was hanged and it sank right into the little boy. No one expected it. No one could have stopped it.Except for one girl. The same girl they had mocked, ridiculed, and beaten.Tiara.---The following day, Alpha Zach stood outside the old cabin on the outskirts of the village, looking at Tiara's tiny door. The guards who had come with him glanced at each other, obviously uneasy. They had never seen their alpha in such a devastating state. He looked so humble, his shoulders were lowered, and his lips were tightly pressed against each other in regret. He slowly lifted his hand as if it was heavy. He knocked once. When the door creaked open, Tiara appeared, wearing a blank expression, dried blood crusted along her cheek.“I know,” she said, heaving a sigh before she continued to speak. “I know that he is gone.”Zach tried to speak, but no words cam

After a very long day of doing the usual routine, Tiara finally got to go home, after enduring so much during the day.Not long after she jumped on her bed, she closed her eyes and patiently waited for sleep to engulf her.And in no time..... "Scrub the floor...." She mumbled in her sleep, finally drifting off to the dreamland.Slowly and meticulously, at about midnight, a dream hit Tiara like a tsunami. She stood in the middle of a familiar training ground. The stench that filled her nostrils was that of blood."Where is this smell coming from?" Curiously raising her brows, she scrutinized her surroundings and just then, her eyes fell on the ground a few miles away from her.She saw something rapidly flowing towards her, and as it did, the stench of blood became more defined and strong. As it moved closer, she observed that it continued to spread to every part of the ground where she stood, heavily soaking the ground like a waterlogged area during the rain.Terrified, she quickly l
