Things are about to change this school year.

Amanda P.O.V

My name is Amanda Light, and in a town full of werewolves, that makes me different.

I am an only child with two loving parents, a good GPA, and a future that stretches far beyond Stone Rock Pack.

Unfortunately, none of those things matter when you're the only human attending a high school filled with wolves.

To everyone else, I'm just Humi.

That's what they call me.

Not Amanda.

Not Amanda Light.

Just Humi.

The nickname started years ago when Sage Stone decided I wasn't worth talking to. The rest of the school followed his lead like obedient puppies. My former friends, my classmates, and even my own cousins fell in line.

At first, I fought it.

I begged for answers.

I tried talking to them.

I tried pretending nothing had changed.

But eventually, I learned the truth.

Once Sage Stone makes up his mind, nobody dares challenge him.

Not if they want to keep their place in the pack.

So I stopped trying.

I focused on my grades instead.

Books couldn't betray me.

Homework couldn't abandon me.

And unlike people, studying actually paid off.

That was why I was currently driving to school in the car my parents had bought me for my eighteenth birthday.

The thought still made me smile.

For years, I had ridden the bus while enduring whispers and laughter. Now, at least, I had a little freedom.

My senior year had finally begun.

One more year.

Just one more year until graduation.

Then I could leave Stone Rock behind forever.

Unfortunately, the universe seemed determined to test my patience.

I circled the student parking lot three times before spotting a space.

"Finally," I muttered.

I turned my blinker on and started pulling in.

A bright red SUV shot into the spot before I could.

I slammed on my brakes.

The driver's door opened.

Of course.

Vanessa.

She climbed out of the SUV with a grin that could only be described as evil.

"Snooze, you lose, Humi!"

Her friends burst into laughter.

I clenched my jaw.

This was the third time she'd stolen a parking space from me since school started.

Third.

Time.

But arguing with Vanessa was pointless.

People like her never faced consequences.

Not when they were part of Sage Stone's fan club.

I eventually found another spot near the far end of the lot and across the street, the bank where my uncle works as the president of the bank in town. I had to rush toward the building.

Thankfully, I made it to English class with five minutes to spare.

I dropped into my seat and pulled out my notebook just as the teacher began passing out the test.

Perfect.

I had spent half the night studying.

If I failed this exam, I'd personally walk into the woods and let the wolves eat me.

The test ended quicker than expected.

As students filed out of the classroom, I headed for my locker to grab my supplies for Art.

That was when I smelled it.

I stopped walking.

The scent was faint.

Sweet.

Warm.

Almost impossible to describe.

It reminded me of rain falling on wildflowers during summer.

My heart skipped.

I looked around the hallway.

Nobody.

The corridor was practically empty.

The scent disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared.

Weird.

Shaking my head, I grabbed my sketchbook and headed to Art.

Maybe I was imagining things.

The quiz went surprisingly well.

By lunchtime, I was feeling optimistic.

Which should have been my first warning.

Nothing good ever lasted long at Stone Rock High.

I picked up my lunch and carried it outside.

The cafeteria tables were off limits.

Not officially.

There wasn't some written rule.

But everyone knew Sage didn't want anyone sitting with me.

No one talked to me.

No one partnered with me.

No one acknowledged my existence unless they were making fun of me.

So I sat alone on my usual bench beneath a large oak tree.

I unwrapped my sandwich and stared across the courtyard.

One more year.

Then Yale.

The thought made me smile.

Last week, I received my early acceptance letter.

Yale.

An actual Ivy League university.

The principal had called me into his office along with several other students who had been accepted.

For a few minutes, I had forgotten who I was.

Forgotten where I was.

Forgotten that everyone around me treated me like I carried some horrible disease.

Then the meeting ended.

Reality returned.

I practically ran out of the office before Sage could catch up to me.

The last time he cornered me, he humiliated me in front of half the school because I had said hello to my cousin Arica.

My own cousin.

Apparently, that was a crime.

I sighed and took another bite of my sandwich.

A strange feeling crawled up my spine.

Someone was watching me.

I looked up.

Vanessa and her friends stood nearby.

Staring.

Again.

"What are you doing out here all alone, Humi?" Vanessa asked with fake concern.

Her friends giggled.

I ignored them.

Years of practice had taught me silence was usually safer.

Then Vanessa suddenly squealed.

"Sage, darling! Hi!"

My stomach dropped.

No.

Please not today.

I turned slowly.

Sage Stone walked across the courtyard like he owned the entire school.

Which, honestly, he practically did.

Tall.

Dark-haired.

Perfectly built.

The future Alpha of the Stone Rock Pack.

Every head turned when he entered a room.

Every conversation stopped.

Every wolf noticed him.

Including me.

Unfortunately.

I hated that.

Sage barely glanced in my direction.

Instead, he walked straight to Vanessa.

She practically melted.

With an easy grin, he wrapped his arms around her waist, lifted her off the ground, and kissed her.

Right in front of me.

The girls surrounding them erupted into excited squeals.

I immediately looked away.

Gross.

I had no interest in witnessing whatever public performance this was.

But something felt wrong.

Very wrong.

Usually, Sage never ignored me.

Usually, he found some new way to make my life miserable.

The fact that he hadn't even looked at me should have been a relief.

Instead, it made me nervous.

Because whenever Sage Stone ignored me...

Something worse usually followed.

I stood abruptly, tossed the rest of my lunch into the trash, and headed toward the gym.

The familiar scent from earlier suddenly drifted through the air again.

Sweet.

Warm.

Intoxicating.

This time it was stronger.

And for some reason, it felt like it was following me.

I froze.

A chill ran through my body.

For the first time all day, I couldn't shake the feeling that something important was about to change.

And somehow...

That change had everything to do with Sage Stone.

Amanda's P.O.V Sage gently puts the blindfold on me and ties it at the back. He takes my hand and guides me inside, what I can only assume is his closet. What are we doing in here? This is a bit weird. "Wait right here and stay still," Sage said as he gently positioned me up against the wall. This is definitely his closet; I can't see anything, but I can feel clothes hanging up. "I made this room years ago, and I have never revealed it to any other girls. I made this room just for my mate and me, so we would have a room to play in." Sage stated. "Ok Alpha, show me." I gulped and licked my dry lips; this was making me a little nervous, but also very excited. "Not yet, babe; after I am done with you, then you can see what the playroom looks like," Sage said, taking my hands in his as he led me through a door and to what I can only assume is a bed. "I need you to get on here, on all fours, and stay still." He says to me; I willingly oblige as he helps me up onto the bed. It

  • The Girl That Has An Alpha For A Mate   Chapter Thirty-Three: Us

Sage's P.O.V My mate truly is amazing. I can't believe she is mine. She always surprises me. I thought she would run a mile when I mentioned the dom and sub stuff, but she didn't. She's really willing to try it, just to please me. I know I'll have to take it easy with her to begin with, but maybe if she likes it, we could try other stuff. "Just don't fuck it up!" Lee mind-linked me; he's still bitter about all the other times I fucked it up. "Lee, I promise I won't fuck it up. You and Mandy made me see sense. I'm not going to ruin this." I mind-linked him back, trying to convince him of my changed ways. "You do realise Mandy can hear everything we're saying, right?" Lee asked. "I'm not stupid. I blocked her from hearing our conversation the second you spoke up," I said, " Does he really think I want our mate to hear everything we say? How would I ever be able to surprise her if she did? Lee didn't say anything for a while, like he was contemplating something. I just don't k

  • The Girl That Has An Alpha For A Mate   Chapter Thirty-Two:Amanda

Amanda's P.O.V As I lay in bed cuddling up to Sage, I couldn't help but smile. I was downright happy. I couldn't help but think back to the conversation I had with Vanessa when we were coming up with the plan. I never believed it would work. I was over-anxious and kept thinking it was going to blow up in my face, but Vanessa was certain it was going to work. The plan to make Sage jealous…. Step one: Vanessa will call her cousin Liam and let him in on what we want to do. Step two: Arrange for Liam to meet up and hang out with me. Step three: Always text Liam out in the open for Sage to see how happy I am. Step four: When Sage finally caves in, make the point that I can be with whoever I want, let him know that I am inviting Liam over to meet my parents. Vanessa took no time in texting Liam, letting him in on the plan, and he didn't take any time at all in texting back, saying that he was in. I am so happy that they helped me out, as it all led to this. Everything has fin

  • The Girl That Has An Alpha For A Mate   Chapter Thirty-One: Rage

Sage P.O.V Lee's right, I can't fuck this up anymore. I have to be there for our mate. What was I thinking? I know this is going to be dangerous for her, but I can protect her. I should have realized that from the start. Lee finally gives me back control,l and I'm looking at Mandy through my own eyes. God, oh, she is beautiful. "Lee is right, you're my mate, and I shouldn't be ashamed or scared. You're right, we should just be together, just us two and no one else….I love you." I said, looking deep into her big, beautiful eyes. She just sat there looking up at me, a half-smile appearing on her lips like she was still unsure whether to trust me or not. "I know I have screwed up in the past, it was because I was scared about us, about what everyone would do and say, about how you could get hurt, and that was the last thing I wanted. I can't stay away from you; I can't deny the feelings I have for you. I love you, and if I have to, I'll spend the rest of my life trying to earn your

  • The Girl That Has An Alpha For A Mate   Chapter Thirty: Sage Part 2

Amanda's P.O.V I look at him, confused. What the hell is going on with him? When he looked at me, his eyes were dark black pools of liquid, but now he's looking at me again, and his eyes are back to their normal blueish grey color. He looks at my neck and sees my blood trickling down from the open wound. He moves closer to me and starts licking my neck, causing the wound to heal up before I bleed to death. "Mandy, do you know why my wolf, Lee, bit you?" Sage asks, still looking at my neck. I just sat there frozen, I'm completely speechless from what just happened, and I just shook my head at him. "Do you know about marking? And how the only way you get marked is because you're someone's mate?" Sage asked me, this time looking into my eyes. I nodded, of course, I knew about marking, I've seen enough she-wolves with the mark on their necks. "Well….Mandy….you're our mate. Now you're stuck with me, whether you like it or not. That is why Lee marked you; he wanted to do it when

  • The Girl That Has An Alpha For A Mate   Chapter Twenty-Nine: I Can't Believe You Did This To Me

Amanda's P.O.V I wrapped my legs around his waist, grinding myself against him. He moved his one hand to the back of my neck, as the other wrapped tighter around my waist, deepening our kiss. I slide my hands down from his neck to his chest and abs. I felt him tense as I moved my hands lower, unbuckling his belt and unzipping his jeans, pushing them and his boxers down to his knees. He pulled away from me, looking down at them and then back up at me, making sure I was certain. I smiled at him and nodded. I could see he was already hard for me. He moved closer, grabbed his cock and lined himself up to my pussy. He thrusted into me, hard and rough. I screamed out in pain because of that. "OW! That hurt." I screamed. Sage stopped immediately and looked at me. A sudden realization crept on his face. I was dry down there. He licked his fingers and moved his hand down between my legs and started rubbing my clit, making my juices start to flow. I instantly felt myself get excited and
