Chapter Two: Down To The Library

After finishing my English test, taking my Art quiz, and eating lunch alone, I spent the rest of my free time hiding out in the gym.

It sounds pathetic, I know.

Most students spent their free periods hanging out with friends or catching up on homework. I spent mine trying not to be seen by Sage Stone and the Stone Rock Fab4.

I sat on the bleachers, humming the song our choir would be performing at the beginning-of-the-year concert. Choir was one of the few things I actually enjoyed about school. When I was singing, I could forget about being the only human at Stone Rock High.

There was a boy in the choir who always smiled and said hello to everyone. He seemed genuinely nice. Sometimes I wanted to smile back or say hi, but I never did.

I couldn't.

If Sage or any of his friends saw me talking to someone, they would make my day a living nightmare.

So I kept my head down and stayed quiet.

Like always.

As I sat there humming, I realized something strange.

It had been almost a week since I'd had any real trouble with the Fab4.

That wasn't normal.

Well, except for Vanessa and her group of followers.

Those girls never seemed to take a break from bullying me.

At least twice a day, they found a reason to call me names or laugh at me.

I honestly didn't understand why.

I had never done anything to them.

I never spoke to them.

I stayed out of everyone's way.

Yet somehow, they acted as if my existence offended them.

The only member of the Fab4 who confused me was Xavier.

My cousin.

At school, he ignored me like everyone else.

At family gatherings, he was completely different.

He talked to me.

Joked with me.

Asked how my classes were going.

It was like he became a different person whenever Sage wasn't around.

Eventually, it was time for me to head to the library.

Returning my books was the last thing on my list before going home.

The hallways were mostly empty as I walked toward the library.

For once, I felt relaxed.

Then I heard it.

A growl.

I froze.

Slowly, I looked up.

And immediately wished I hadn't.

Sage Stone stood a few feet away.

His blue-grey eyes were fixed directly on me.

Before I could even react, he crossed the distance between us.

The next thing I knew, I was being lifted off the floor.

"What the—Sage!"

I barely had time to protest before he threw me over his shoulder.

Panic exploded inside me.

"What are you doing? Put me down!"

He ignored me completely.

A second later, a door opened.

Then slammed shut.

I stumbled as he dropped me inside a janitor's closet.

The tiny room smelled like bleach and cleaning supplies.

I turned toward the door immediately.

Locked.

My heart started pounding.

Heavy breathing sounded behind me.

"Humi girl."

His voice was low and rough.

I swallowed hard.

For the first time in years, I was genuinely scared of him.

Not because of the insults.

Not because of the bullying.

But because I had absolutely no idea what he was going to do.

"You'd better not be talking to other guys," he growled near my ear.

I frowned and finally turned to look at him.

"What?"

"Stop wearing slutty clothes and showing your bits. Nobody wants to see that."

I stared at him.

Then looked down at myself.

Jeans.

A T-shirt.

Sneakers.

That was it.

I looked back up at him, completely confused.

"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

For a moment, he didn't answer.

His eyes moved over me.

His jaw clenched.

His hands settled on my hips.

Hard.

Too hard.

Pain shot through my sides.

I winced.

His fingers tightened even more.

"Get off me, Sage!" I shouted.

I hated how shaky my voice sounded.

I hated that he could probably tell how scared I was.

But I refused to let him see me cry.

"Now!"

To my surprise, he laughed.

Not because something was funny.

It sounded more like he was laughing at himself.

"Amanda," he snarled, "stay away from everyone. Do you hear me?"

His grip tightened.

"No one wants you here. Stay out of my way."

The words hurt.

Even after all these years, they still hurt.

Then something strange happened.

His eyes dropped to my lips.

His breathing became uneven.

For a second, he looked angry.

The next second, he looked completely lost.

I nervously bit my lip.

A growl rumbled deep in his chest.

Before I could react, he suddenly lifted me again.

My eyes widened in shock.

He wrapped my legs around his waist and just... stared at me.

I froze.

Waiting.

Waiting for him to yell.

Waiting for him to threaten me.

Waiting for something.

But none of it happened.

Instead, he stood there trying to control his breathing.

His chest rose and fell rapidly.

His eyes never left mine.

"Oh, Amanda," he said softly before letting out a strange laugh.

Then, just as suddenly as it started, it ended.

He carefully set me back on the floor.

His finger brushed under my chin.

For one brief second, neither of us moved.

Then he stepped away.

Unlocked the door.

And walked out.

Just like that.

Gone.

I stood there completely stunned.

What the hell just happened?

After a minute, I cautiously opened the door and peeked into the hallway.

Empty.

Thank God.

I ran.

I ran all the way to the library without looking back.

Even after I got there, my heart wouldn't slow down.

Nothing about that encounter made sense.

Sage hated me.

He'd spent years making my life miserable.

So why had he acted like that?

And why couldn't I stop thinking about the look in his eyes?

All I knew was one thing.

I wanted Sage Stone to leave me alone this year.

Unfortunately, something told me that wasn't going to happen.

Amanda's P.O.V Sage gently puts the blindfold on me and ties it at the back. He takes my hand and guides me inside, what I can only assume is his closet. What are we doing in here? This is a bit weird. "Wait right here and stay still," Sage said as he gently positioned me up against the wall. This is definitely his closet; I can't see anything, but I can feel clothes hanging up. "I made this room years ago, and I have never revealed it to any other girls. I made this room just for my mate and me, so we would have a room to play in." Sage stated. "Ok Alpha, show me." I gulped and licked my dry lips; this was making me a little nervous, but also very excited. "Not yet, babe; after I am done with you, then you can see what the playroom looks like," Sage said, taking my hands in his as he led me through a door and to what I can only assume is a bed. "I need you to get on here, on all fours, and stay still." He says to me; I willingly oblige as he helps me up onto the bed. It

  • The Girl That Has An Alpha For A Mate   Chapter Thirty-Three: Us

Sage's P.O.V My mate truly is amazing. I can't believe she is mine. She always surprises me. I thought she would run a mile when I mentioned the dom and sub stuff, but she didn't. She's really willing to try it, just to please me. I know I'll have to take it easy with her to begin with, but maybe if she likes it, we could try other stuff. "Just don't fuck it up!" Lee mind-linked me; he's still bitter about all the other times I fucked it up. "Lee, I promise I won't fuck it up. You and Mandy made me see sense. I'm not going to ruin this." I mind-linked him back, trying to convince him of my changed ways. "You do realise Mandy can hear everything we're saying, right?" Lee asked. "I'm not stupid. I blocked her from hearing our conversation the second you spoke up," I said, " Does he really think I want our mate to hear everything we say? How would I ever be able to surprise her if she did? Lee didn't say anything for a while, like he was contemplating something. I just don't k

Amanda's P.O.V As I lay in bed cuddling up to Sage, I couldn't help but smile. I was downright happy. I couldn't help but think back to the conversation I had with Vanessa when we were coming up with the plan. I never believed it would work. I was over-anxious and kept thinking it was going to blow up in my face, but Vanessa was certain it was going to work. The plan to make Sage jealous…. Step one: Vanessa will call her cousin Liam and let him in on what we want to do. Step two: Arrange for Liam to meet up and hang out with me. Step four: When Sage finally caves in, make the point that I can be with whoever I want, let him know that I am inviting Liam over to meet my parents. Vanessa took no time in texting Liam, letting him in on the plan, and he didn't take any time at all in texting back, saying that he was in. I am so happy that they helped me out, as it all led to this. Everything has fin

Sage P.O.V Lee's right, I can't fuck this up anymore. I have to be there for our mate. What was I thinking? I know this is going to be dangerous for her, but I can protect her. I should have realized that from the start. Lee finally gives me back control,l and I'm looking at Mandy through my own eyes. God, oh, she is beautiful. "Lee is right, you're my mate, and I shouldn't be ashamed or scared. You're right, we should just be together, just us two and no one else….I love you." I said, looking deep into her big, beautiful eyes. She just sat there looking up at me, a half-smile appearing on her lips like she was still unsure whether to trust me or not. "I know I have screwed up in the past, it was because I was scared about us, about what everyone would do and say, about how you could get hurt, and that was the last thing I wanted. I can't stay away from you; I can't deny the feelings I have for you. I love you, and if I have to, I'll spend the rest of my life trying to earn your

  • The Girl That Has An Alpha For A Mate   Chapter Thirty: Sage Part 2

Amanda's P.O.V I look at him, confused. What the hell is going on with him? When he looked at me, his eyes were dark black pools of liquid, but now he's looking at me again, and his eyes are back to their normal blueish grey color. He looks at my neck and sees my blood trickling down from the open wound. He moves closer to me and starts licking my neck, causing the wound to heal up before I bleed to death. "Mandy, do you know why my wolf, Lee, bit you?" Sage asks, still looking at my neck. I just sat there frozen, I'm completely speechless from what just happened, and I just shook my head at him. "Do you know about marking? And how the only way you get marked is because you're someone's mate?" Sage asked me, this time looking into my eyes. I nodded, of course, I knew about marking, I've seen enough she-wolves with the mark on their necks. "Well….Mandy….you're our mate. Now you're stuck with me, whether you like it or not. That is why Lee marked you; he wanted to do it when

  • The Girl That Has An Alpha For A Mate   Chapter Twenty-Nine: I Can't Believe You Did This To Me

Amanda's P.O.V I wrapped my legs around his waist, grinding myself against him. He moved his one hand to the back of my neck, as the other wrapped tighter around my waist, deepening our kiss. I slide my hands down from his neck to his chest and abs. I felt him tense as I moved my hands lower, unbuckling his belt and unzipping his jeans, pushing them and his boxers down to his knees. He pulled away from me, looking down at them and then back up at me, making sure I was certain. I smiled at him and nodded. I could see he was already hard for me. He moved closer, grabbed his cock and lined himself up to my pussy. He thrusted into me, hard and rough. I screamed out in pain because of that. "OW! That hurt." I screamed. Sage stopped immediately and looked at me. A sudden realization crept on his face. I was dry down there. He licked his fingers and moved his hand down between my legs and started rubbing my clit, making my juices start to flow. I instantly felt myself get excited and
