Things that were forgotten

Aria’s POV:

Sleep had become a luxury. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw something different. Jasper’s face in the courtyard. The Council chamber. Archer’s wolf fighting against something I couldn’t understand.

“Go.”

The memory alone made my stomach tighten. He’d known. The second that strange pulse had left my body, Archer had known exactly what it was. Or at least…He’d known enough to be afraid.

That was the part I couldn’t stop thinking about. Archer wasn’t the kind of person who panicked.

  • The Girl with the Violet Eyes    The morning after

Aria’s POV:I woke up warm. That was the first thing I noticed. The second was the arm wrapped securely around my waist. I smiled before I even opened my eyes. The memory of last night came rushing back, followed by the strange, beautiful feeling that still hummed beneath my skin. The bond. My mate. I turned slowly in his arms. His silver hair was a mess against the pillow, and for once, the effortlessly perfect fae heir looked completely human. His eyes opened. The second he saw me, he smiled.“Good morning, little nightmare.”I laughed softly. “Good morning.”He pulled me closer. I settled against his chest. We didn’t speak for a while. We didn’t need to. I could feel the warmth of his emotions through the bond. His happiness. His disbelief. His overwhelming affection. It was almost dizzying.“You’re really my mate,” I whispered. His fingers traced slowly along my arm.“You’re really mine.”Something fluttered in my chest. I smiled brightly. “That still sounds strange.”“Good stran

  • The Girl with the Violet Eyes    Surprise…

Aria’s POV:The air between us crackled with an intensity that stole my breath. The playful energy from moments before had evaporated, replaced by a thick, charged silence that felt more intimate than any words. Jasper’s blue eyes had darkened to a deep, midnight shade, his gaze fixed on my lips like I was the only thing in his world.“Aria,” he breathed out, his voice low and raspy.“You have no idea what you do to me.”My throat was dry. I couldn’t speak. All I could do was feel. The pounding of my heart against my ribs. The prickle of my skin. The magnetic pull drawing me closer to him. He took a step forward, crowding into my space, his hand moving from my waist to the delicate skin of my neck. His thumb brushed against the sensitive spot below my ear, and a jolt of electricity shot straight down my spine.“I want you,” he whispered.“I want to be the one to see you completely undone. I want to be the first to make you feel good.”His gaze dropped to my lips again. I knew he was

  • The Girl with the Violet Eyes    His special spot

Aria’s POV:Something about my life had become impossible to explain. I had stopped trying to put it into neat little boxes. There was Archer. Whatever was happening between us had deepened into something I was almost afraid to name. I’d told myself it was the hunger. That I needed him because my body needed his blood. But that explanation had started falling apart. I missed him even when I wasn’t hungry. I missed his voice. His scent. The way his arms felt around me afterward. The way his wolf seemed to settle whenever I was near. Then there was Jasper. Somehow, after everything we’d been through, I was falling for him again. Maybe I never really stopped. Our first date had changed something between us. Since then, he’d been patient. Thoughtful. He made me laugh. He listened when I talked. He never pushed me to forgive him before I was ready. That only made me want to forgive him more. Then there was Lucien. My safe place. The person I went to when the world became too much. The on

  • The Girl with the Violet Eyes    Trying to stay away

Aria’s POV: It’s been four days since I’ve stayed away from Archer. When he’d looked at me in that hallway and told me to go back to my room. He said he was trying to do the right thing. I’d felt that strange hunger settle beneath my skin all four agonizing days. It had only gotten worse as each day passed by. I’d tried everything. I’ve stuffed my mouth with food, trained constantly, and even used my magic until I almost passed out from exhaustion. The worst part was that I knew what would make it stop. I could still remember what it felt like when I’d fed from him. The strange calm that had followed. The way my body had finally stopped screaming for something I couldn’t name. But I wasn’t going back. Not after he’d told me to stay away. I didn’t want to bother him. I didn’t want to make him feel like he had to let me feed from him. I certainly didn’t want to become dependent on him. So I’d suffered through it.At least I had Jasper. Things between us had been…good. Really good. H

  • The Girl with the Violet Eyes    So many feelings

Aria’s POV: I woke up thinking about Archer again. That was the first problem. The second was that I could still feel him. Somehow my body remembered everything. His arms around me. The warmth of his chest against my back. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath my ear. Most of all, the taste of him. I pressed my fingers against my lips. I shouldn’t be thinking about this. I had gone to his room. I had begged him to let me feed from him. Then I’d kissed him. And if that didn’t complicate things enough, I’d fallen asleep in his arms like that was the most natural thing in the world. It wasn’t. None of this was normal. I’d spent the last few weeks trying to understand what was happening to me, and every answer seemed to lead to another question. My magic was changing. My senses were changing. My body was changing. Now I was craving something I couldn’t even name.I sat up. “Stop thinking about him.”My stomach twisted. It didn’t listen. I tried to distract myself with breakfast. It

  • The Girl with the Violet Eyes    Heated session

Lucien’s POV:I knew something was wrong the moment Aria walked into the dining hall. I smelled rain and pine before she even reached the table. I knew that scent. Archer. My eyes lifted.Aria was laughing with Crystal, completely unaware that I could smell him all over her.Not faintly. Not like she’d simply passed him in a hallway. His scent was tangled with hers.My jaw tightened. I wasn’t angry that she’d been with him. That wasn’t my concern. What bothered me was the fact that she was sitting across from me, smiling as though nothing had happened. She was keeping things from me. “Good morning, little one.”She looked at me. “Morning.”Her smile was warm. When I leaned closer, Archer’s scent became stronger. I watched her carefully. She wouldn’t meet my eyes for long. I chose to wait to say something to her. I caught up with Aria after class. She smiled when she saw me approaching. “Lucien.”“Little one.”I fell into step beside her. For a few moments, we walked in comfortable
