Writer's POV

"Okay? Are you kidding me? After your girlfriend came back and your parents took her job away from her, and she's dying of cramps right now, and her fucking father will not stop saying how useless she is? How do you expect her to be okay?"

Jason's lips twitched. He's currently pulling on a shirt and jeans with one hand on his phone. "I don't have a girlfriend." He said to Lily.

"Well, tell that to the girl who said she's yours." Lily hissed and hung up.

"Dary!" Jason muttered and he went downstairs, where he met Dary in the adjoined kitchen. She wore an apron around her curvy body as she cooked and hummed to herself.

For a little while, he got lost just by staring at her. Her, in an apron cooking brought back so many memories. It wasn't until she turned and their eyes met that he remembered the reason why he'd come.

"Hey, I'm making your favourite," Dary said happily.

"Did you answer my call last night?" Jason asked, folding his arms across his rigid chest.

"Oh, I did. It

Aria's POVWhen I agreed to fake date Dave, it had only been because I wanted to make Jason jealous. I wasn't even thinking about what I was agreeing to. The fact that Dave was popular among the guys from his school and some from our school. That hadn't even clicked in my head until now.Who was he really? You could tell how popular a guy was when girls couldn't stop staring. Or maybe by how he looked. Eyes darted to us as we approached Lily's couch. She looked surprised while Charlotte, on the other hand, kept looking from Dave to me."Everyone's staring," I muttered."Good. Let them.""Hey, guys," I said, trying to be as casual as possible once we got to Lily and Charlotte's couch. Dave gave them a nod while his arm around me tightened."Uh, hi?" Lily said, looking so confused. "What's.. going on here?" She gestured vaguely between us. "Nothing. I'm trying to introduce my girlfriend." Dave replied and Lily rolled her eyes."You're joking. She's not your...""Actually, it's true.

Aria's POV"My help? With what? Cause I don't know how to ski and unless you need someone to teach you how to trip over your own ski, I'm not your girl."Dave chuckled which was starting to make me think that whatever he was gonna say wouldn't be serious. I was prepared to tell him to leave when he raised his fingers."You're funny, Aria. You know that? No, I'm serious. I actually do need you."Wow. This did come as a surprise. Because... people needed me always. But it's only for school work and nothing else. Of course, Dave would need me. Me, the girl he met only once. Very inconspicuous of him."Dave, that's... new. Most people only need me when they're failing some subject or the other.""Well... I'm not failing any subject. But I am failing at something else."I squinted at him. "You're failing at not being cryptic, that's for sure."He rubbed the back of his neck, glancing briefly over his shoulder. "Look, don't laugh okay?"Oh... now I was overly curious. I had to know what he

Aria's POV My bath was quick. Like, real quick. And as I stood naked in the bathroom, staring at my reflection, in the foggy mirror, I pouted. I'd never been so annoyed with the hairstyle on my head. I used to think bangs were cool but not anymore. When I had them, I thought that they made me look chic. But now, they hung down my head like I'd lost a fight with a pair of kitchen scissors. I wondered how any guy would find this attractive. I knew of some people who rocked 'em but it was starting to look too casual on me. And then, there was my body. God. I wish I had more flesh... It certainly wouldn't hurt to add them in places where they would be really visible. I touched my hips and sighed. Small waist, small legs, small breasts. Small everything. Like the fun-sized version of what a girl was supposed to look like. What'd I do to make the body god's hand me the leftover portions when creating humans? Like, here you go, Aria, here’s the scraps. Enjoy. Even Charlotte had fles

Aria's POV"You don't actually have a boyfriend, do you?""No, but...""But it's complicated." Dave finishes, then he smiles and steps closer to me. "I also have a girl." He maintains eye contact for some seconds, then chuckles and looks away. "But it's complicated."I can't help but smile at his openness. "Welcome to the club, Dave." Dave nods, then he takes in my bag and frowns. "Your roommate threw you out or what?" "Kind of. But I'm staying with my best friend until the teachers find me a new room." I explain with a sigh."Can I walk with you then?" Dave asks, a small hopeful grin lighting his face. I look back at the closed door, a lot of dirty and nasty thoughts running through my mind. What were Jason and Dary doing at the moment?Did he agree to kiss her? What if he agreed to more? What if..."What am I supposed to call you if you won't even tell me your name. And you keep looking back at the door like you want your roommate to change her mind and take you back in." Dave's

Aria's POVDid Jason just... I gulp on nothing and I heave a sigh of relief. He isn't scolding me or anything. He's not mad that I bit Dary. He's even proud of me. He said I'm his girl. If that doesn't make my night, I don't know what will. Mrs Sadie is still treating Dary while the man keeps ranting about how unacceptable such behaviours are and how they might actually have to send me back home.My heart skips at that statement. I look up at the man through my lashes, then at Mrs Sadie, who looks away from me. Great. She isn't saying a word. She's supposed to be defending me. She knows that the actual me would never do this to someone. I mean, I did tutor her two little girls last year and I never bit them. I'm tops in all my subjects. I don't go around biting people because I'm not a fucking vampire!"I don't wanna go back," I whisper to Jason. "Please, make him understand. I... I can't leave. I don't want to." "Who said anything about leaving?" Jason holds me to himself, tighte

Aria's POV"Miss Bennett, is there a problem?" "Yes," Lily blurts before I can stop her. "A very big problem. Aria cannot share a room with her." She throws her hand toward Dary, who's scrolling through her phone, looking unbothered.Dary slowly lowers her phone, her eyebrows arching. "Excuse me? What's that supposed to mean?" "You know exactly what it means.""Lily, let it be..." I start saying but she's having none of it. She shakes her head, telling me no and then she continues. "I don't understand, Lily or whatever you call yourself. Unless you're insinuating Aria is... intimidated by me."Her comment makes me roll my eyes but I don't utter a word. Mrs. Sadie looks like she's made up her mind, and nothing that I say will make her change it."Room assignments are final. We are not rearranging because of... personal preferences. Understood?""But..." "No buts. Room Seven. With Miss Peterson."There's silence as Mrs. Sadie walks past us, and Dary leans up and kisses Jason's cheek
