Syria’s POV

He stood up all of a sudden. There was no warning, no explanation. Just like that, he turned his back on me.

“Wait, where are you going?” I asked, my voice unsure but trying to hold him back somehow.

He paused for a moment, but didn’t turn around. He didn't even give me a proper answer. His voice was low and cold, like all the warmth between us had just vanished in seconds.

“I’m just going out,” he muttered. “Do not fucking follow me.”

And just like that, he walked out and slammed the door behind him.

I was left there, frozen. Confused. Bothered.

My chest felt tight and my thoughts were racing. I couldn't stop thinking about what he said. I wanted to run after him, to make him talk to me, to make him look me in the eye and explain what was going on. He didn’t deserve to carry all this alone.

After all, he helped me escape. He’s the reason I didn’t end up marrying another man. He gave me a way out when no one else did. And now… I just let him walk away?

Back then, I admit
